It's amazing how adding one little curve can change the look of a piece...Before you put on the under-tray, my little eye screamed "Too straight!" Too much pointing up!" Then just like that, the little duck tail in the under-tray flowing downwards, following the radius of the tire, and all is well and right with the world again.
Really wanted to thank you and your wife for the videos. I’m watching the older ones I bought a triumph Sprint 955 I. From a charity auction. Going through the whole thing making sure that it’s restored well and Street worthy. Thank you your videos have been absolutely invaluable and time-saving. Thank you very much!
This is a nice new look, Del! Can’t wait to see the finished product. On a related subject, the wife and I have undertaken a significant project with regards to the MIL. She’s beginning to have some mobility problems, so I’ve started the process of grafting a Ural sidecar to her right hip. This will help her balance and yet at the same time provide some stability and utility (she can help with hauling gravel, leaves and even bring in larger postal packages). I’ve been having a small challenge with fasteners as the screws I’ve been using have been rejecting her and I really am worried about the health of the screws. Will keep you updated if interested. Hope you both are well. 🏍️👍🏍️
Oh wow, sounds like a wonderful project, just make sure you put a braked wheel on the sidecar as every time she tries to stop she'll turn right and over turn! Try some graphite anti-seize on the MIL, it puts a non-ferrous layer between the two surfaces providing an anti-rejection barrier! Have fun and good luck!!!!!
@@Moonfleet41 ok I will try that. I went to the motor vehicle department this morning and they registered her as a totaled vehicle without a title. I guess that’s fine. 😎
Hi Penny and Del, hope your week is going well. Who's a lucky boy then, that is a super cool bit of kit, that guy did an excellent job. Looks outstanding, looking forward to seeing the front end next. Take care, Cheers
Thanks mate, goona keep it practical on the front, big lights for night-time riding and I want the factory clocks this time... I've got a plan! Have a great week there, hope it's not too hot! D&Px
1:45 : OHHHHHH NO,,,,, SOMEONE`S STOLE THE 10mm SOCKET !!!! The struggle is real boys, and here`s the proof lol. Great vid Del, the bike looks so much better with that back end on it than the old one, be a nice bike once it`s done. Take care. Glen West Mids.
Me too, it was a chance find while shopping for options and donor materials, i must say i would rather have built it all myself, but even finding the parts to do that is a task in itself.!
Loving the gsxr 1000 back end. What a result finding one already converted for the bussa happy days and even same matt black as well. Clearly was meant to be great build buddy
Yeah, wasn'it just. couldn;t beleive it was prety much ready to bolt on.. wanted to make it all msyelf, but couldn't find what i wanted. then this popped up!
Looks lot better I’ll be honest a guy I know just gave me a load of stuff for my busa fairings tank rear end all lucky strike stuff a rear wheel new callipers and pads and a new under tray for the rest end 😊 But bk to that rear end of urs lol nice
Hi Del, I`ve never really liked the bulky look of the Hyabusa, or the awful "whale tail" type seat unit on the TL1000R, and felt a GSX-R1000 seat would look much better, so to see you do this very conversion proves my theory right. It will look so much better when it`s done.
Looks good im just putting a k1 back end on a gsxr slingshot 750, also a 1200 bandit lump in it, looking forward to your build, are you keeping the rat look or full makeover.😊
Thanks mate, sounds like a cool old school build, that'll really smarten up your Slingshot.. With a shiney and polished ZX-7R Fighter i just finished the repaint on, im going to keep this one very much flat black and scruffy.. planning a few wasteland upgrades and keeping it fun and usable.!
This is gonna look awesome Del👍 (.... thinking to myself....is he gonna throw some colour at it and maybe some detail colour work.... I hope so 😁🤞) Keep up the great work Del 'n' Pen 👍
Thanks Paul, glad you approve... I have a custom streetfighter already in the ZX7R, it took a huge amount of work to build and the recent makeover as well... it's a lot of upkeep to maintain a bike looking show finish, so this one will stay matt black, maybe a tidy up and re-coat here and there to make it smart and stealth! Appreciate your support, D&Px
@@Moonfleet41 Cool Del👍 I do appreciate the time and effort that yourself and Pen put into the bikes and the channel 👍 I have watched the ZX7R build throughout mate, awesome job 👍 My absolute favourite build was your Triumph Thunderbird from a while ago, that was absolutely stunning mate 👌👍 The white over the black accents was superb👍
Great find on the new-to-you tail assembly. Looks perfect and a great way to start a new project. Flap disc is a great little tool isn't it ? When you just want to finesse something a little bit. Can't wait to see what artistic touches you and Penny have in store for the 'Busa. Cheers to you both.❤👍👍
Thanks Rick, yes you're right, flap discs are a great invention, you do need to keep them flat and under control as they're quite squashy and can lead to rounded surfaces, but way better than hours of filing! Thanks for your kind support, as always, have a great week, D&Px
Thanks buddy, not looking to match the front too much, keeping it practical, I want the factory clocks this time and I need big lights for night-time riding, so it'll be a little more function over form!
Awesome video brother !!! Definitely I love this look !! More aggressive !! Keep up the great work brother !! Stay safe guys cheers from New York !!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Penny and Del - great video! Looks like you found a winner in that custom tail assembly - it really looks good. The weight savings can't hurt either! Take care, dear friends. Be well and ride safe.
Thanks buddy, yeah, what a diamond find aye.. all done and ready to pretty much bolt straight on.. all i need to do it make the seat work and sort the wiring.. would rather have built it all myself, but even finding a tail panel is hard, the subframes not so much.. but having it all ready to go was too hard to resist..! Thanks for your kind support always //D&Px

Ha ha, i agree.. i think that's a little Fibonacci at play there aye.!

the "missing" 10mm sockets 😂

Yes indeed the pain is real... I started buying them by the gross and just breaking out a new one when the old one slips in to the next dimension lol
What a great find, like it grew there! Glad to see ur 10mm socket is missing too 🤣
ha ha..You and me both mate.. it's always missing, but i generally find it somewhere laying about.!
Looks 1 million times better than when it rolled out the factory.
Thanks mate, a combination of the best bits!
I prefer this look. Glad you found what you were looking for out there!
Me too, it was a chance find while shopping for options and donor materials, i must say i would rather have built it all myself, but even finding the parts to do that is a task in itself.!
Much Better Del...!!
Really liking the direction this is going now 👍
BG
Looks fantastic Del. Really finishes the bike off nicely. 😎👍🏍
I love the back end, looks so much sharper...so definitely not a hyabusa-bagger!

Where did you get your rear sub frame and plastics from? I want to do the same to mine
Second hand sale on marketplace.. the subframe has to be modified and this was already done, plastics are Gixer K4. !
Can you do the same with a gen 2 and awesome I love the channel by the way
@@DanielBridger-eg6se Yes, and Gen3... you just need to make a modified sub-frame and buy the plastics!

@@Moonfleet41u think worth fitting ?

Totally agree mate.. it's a pretty popular conversion, and should look great with the seat carved into the right lines.!
Some nice plug & play for a change - well, nearly. I've always liked the K4's styling. Günter/Nürnberg
Sure thing, still needs a little adjustment, a few plugs changed, but otherwise easy to fit!
Like so many of the comments Del, this is my preference to the old look👍
Thanks mate, it is more conventional, am looking forward to riding it!
That back end looks good pal. It was well made.
Thanks mate, it was indeed. proper sturdy..!
YESSS. It's taking shape. Missile I think. Stay safe peeps.
Sure thing mate, hoping it's gonna look epic!
Top build as always. 🏴🏴🏴
Thanks 👍
Yep liking this new remodelling, looking forward to seeing the front end.👍
Cheers mate.. keeping it simple and fun to ride !
That looks great. It’s going to hard to get the front matching. Have you thought of any new colour options. Great job sir
Colours not changing, just a tidy up and make the front pracrical, i want the factory clocks and decent lights..!
Now!! I can look!! 😊 yes becoming more sexier! Interestingly conversion. I like it better!
Thank you sir.. glad you approve.
Del, I like this style of video where you are talking to the camera and explaining your thought process.
Would that be a "Hayabooty" ? Sexy looking for sure! Wow, this is going to look great!
Great word!... and yes indeed, I do think it's a big improvement over the previous tail.
Nice one hope u do the front with some sharp lines more futuristic 👌
That looks brilliant Del. Will it get a fresh paint or are you keeping it stealth black?
May get fresh paint mate, but yes, it will be stealth black, just a tidy up to make it look slick!

Cheers Paul.
That tail is sweet, looks great.
Cheers mate, I think so too!
What a score 😎 fit and forget as well..
nice one Del
Yeah, almost. what luck that was !
looking better already Del
Thanks Tony, good to hear from you mate!
Get some Renthal bars on it del and a flashy paint job👍
Street bars yeah.. but flashy paint job Never ! this one will always be wasteland..!
Look forward to seeing the end result 👍👍
Hiya Del.....Will ya be changing the colour of the bike?
Certainly not Peter, it's very mucy staying flat black and raggedy !
Just wondered....the back end looks superb...just flows.
This is gonna look awesome Del👍

Best part to change on a Hyabussa as that's the part everyone sees with the grunt that beast has, LOL.
Good point well made buddy, they have to look good from the rear!
That new tail piece looks awesome Del ! I can't wait to see what you do to the rest of the Busa ! 👍👍👍
Thanks Paul, nothing too radical, just gonna keep it simple and and keep it wasteland..!
Nice! Real real nice.
Thanks!
