Another question about the course: I haven't taken any of your courses/classes; I would like to, but wonder if it is best to wait until I take a timber framing course/classes first? My goal isn't with just SIP construction alone. 👍 (JF)

@2:05 ish You said: ".... basically separating the two exterior cores and the further away from the center line of the panel those cores get the stronger they become."
Mirroring back (for my understanding): Did you mean the further the two OSB sheaths (parts of the SIP - front and backsides) of a SIP Panel are from one another (SIP THICKNESS) the stronger the SIP PANEL becomes? In other words; the thicker the SIP the more structurally strong it becomes (4" thick is stronger than 3" thick)?

Not sure if you learned the answer yet, but yes... The thicker the panel, the stronger the structure(all else being equal). There is a photo of a pickup truck parking on top of a single 10" or 12" thick(can't remember which) steel EPS sip panel, experiencing very minimal flexion. The skin(thin gauge steel) was certainly not the primary structural rigidity. It was mostly the rigid foam.
