Big ups to Zack here! Congrats for being one of the first for an Equinox EV! I also want to recognize Ray Chevrolet and GM here for allowing a smaller youtuber to get their hands on this!
I did quite a bit of dev work on these things. The lead dev engineer, Lynn, was one of my favorite people I worked with at GM. He is a hell of a guy. Definitely makes me miss working on all the cool prototype stuff.
Even if I'm not particularly interested in a vehicle you're reviewing, I still watch.
Seriously though, congratulations on being one of, IF NOT, the first to review an Equinox EV! You know you've made it in life for sure when you get access to vehicles no other UA-camr has driven before. =)
There was a review a week ago I forgot the name of the channel
Thought there was a media embargo on this until May 30 at noon EST.
47K for a midsize crossover is insane. Electric or not.
Fr i remember when you could get a V6 chevy traverse, 3 row, mid/full size SUV for sub 30K.
People say this all this all the time, but the price of the vehicle in a vacuum is irrelevant.
What matters is the price of the vehicle relative to the average income.
Not, if you said that the increase in vehicle prices have risen disproportionately to incomes, then you’d actually have a point (but you’d actually have to provide data which backs up your assertion).
@@jayem8981Since when have auto manufacturers based their pricing on the average income of a household instead of being profit driven? You are delusional.
I was never a fan of the Equinox but this one sure looks a thousand times better.
The lack of CarPlay and Android Auto is a deal breaker for me. Surprised this didn’t get mentioned.
FYI It is mentioned at 9:18.
I felt that as well, but they give you 8 years of data connectivity and the Google Built-in nav will work with your phone's data connection (if you have a hotspot, which most do) so it's almost like having Android Auto or CarPlay, just with GM's UI.
Agreed. If you’re used to one of those, they pretty much work the same in all cars, so it’s annoying that GM makes you learn something proprietary.
Re you sure about the wireless phone charging? I cannot find that feature listed on the Chevy website.
this is a weird thing. Someone showed one with window sticker with feature crossed out by hand. another tried and did not have it but when he lifted mat it said it was a wireless charging pad. It's like they can't get them? like sunroof being available then not then yes..
I think this looks better than the blazer EV. The blazer is just trying to do too much with the exterior and none of it comes together well.
Looks smashing. And good pricing.
you take 7500 off the price then any other discounts and this thing is a steal
I drove the 3RS today. Very smooth and quiet. I think it’s the best looking EV, exterior and interior. Could probably use a little more power for the FWD.
Doesn't this come in RWD as well, or is that the Blazer EV?
The Blazer is offered in RWD but Equinox EV is not. When they originally unveiled the Blazer EV, they said it was going to be the "sporty" one with the option to get RWD and more power. However, the other early review I watched of someone driving the AWD Equinox EV said it actually felt faster and more nimble than the AWD Blazer. Once the SS Blazer comes out, that may help differentiate the two but as of right now, Blazer just doesn't make a lot of sense in the lineup.
@@jayhawker2363Blazer makes perfect sense in the lineup.
You should have atleast 500k members.
Hey, Zack. Are you still planning on the sack lunch 6/9? What route would you be taking?
Yes! We are starting at the Aurora Hobby lobby at 8am. 10:30ish we’ll head down. I’m not sure what specific route we’ll take, last year a few people took different ways
For $50,000 it better be nice😂
The automakers need to bring back car names from the malaise era. The would be a leading contender for the new vega.
The higher-end 3RS trim has dual climate control.
Why the Equinox over the Blazer? I can give you 10,000 reasons.
Why call it the 2rs if it doesn’t even have 2 motors
trims available is 1LT, 2LT,2RS,3LT, 3RS yet no third motor.
It's fine, I guess. More character than a Tesla but still has cheap materials. I hope GM fixed the reliability issues. It looks good though.
I bet they did NOT fix anything
Since this is the first year for this car, what would there be to "fix"?
Basically the most boring ev on the market.
Another soulless appliance makes it's way onto the Shooting Cars UA-cam channel. What's next, Zach reviewing refrigerators? 😢
I understand the criticism that EVs receive, but I think you’re being a bit dramatic here.
@@Ben-jz3mtI'm thankful for the variety of vehicles on the channel and I understand what you're saying, but all these new SUVs lately are a total bore!
@@nathanjoseph4284 I’ll give you that one. That’s pretty much every new car. SUVs, Crossovers, Trucks. Hardly any respect for sedans, aka the only car that most people need.
The rear of the car sort of reminds me of the Aston Martin SUV. Especially the way the tailights jets out
For every modern SUV I also have plenty of 80s/90s cars coming as well! These videos just take upload priority because they’re time sensitive. I filmed 3 90s manual cars today!
Yet another useless EV that nobody is going to buy
With the tax incentives and price point means people might actually buy this.
