Will my set up pass?
SG Bearded Aquarist maybe...😂
Your knowledge is growing to fast, your UA-cam overtaking is inevitable
for a 2ft tank probably need 2kg-3kg worth of salt
Blue tang is a no no for a tank that size. They get big. What I think is good for your tank is a pair of clowns, those purple fire fishes, goby, a flame angel and a flame hawk fish.
Oh btw flame hawks aren't bottom dwellers. They are bad swimmers and they like perching on rocks and corals. Very very cute with huge personality. I got one and I name it Deadpool lol.
My advice is start slow. Don't rush it. Saltwater is alot of fun. Enjoy the process.
New video!! Finally !
Oh yeahhhh
Excited to see you finally get a salt water aquarium! Damsel to start with as they are the hardiest but they can get aggressive and territorial as you add in other fishes but great with initial Cycling of tank, can’t wait to see more!!
Thanks Jerome! The damsel look so cute and harmless, would never have thought they are aggressive. Any advice for managing aggression?
Best bet would be to add the damsel in as your last fish or add it in together with any other fish, do not add it in as your first fish
How do you keep a Flowerhorns with so many other fish, that’s so cool
Great video as always bro. Tank looks good. Can’t wait for the results. Btw, what song is it at 14:07 ? Been hearing the tune but can’t find it!! Arghh!! 😆
Thanks Rostam! Next video will be out in a few days. The song is called paradise by ikson! Its been pretty popular lately 😂
As expected, you have the fish-focused view of a freshwater guy. Like with freshwater, you could keep saltwater fish successfully just with a sponge filter, heater and any type of light (or none at all). The even tolerate a decent range of salinity (but don´t like fast changes in salinity, especially when it raises up). Feed, do waterchanges, thats it (more or less).
The real difference drops in when it comes to keeping corals/anemonies...
Thanks for sharing! Yes fish is what attracts people into the hobby
Great video as always! I have a question tho, do you know fish shops which sell galaxy rasboras? I have been lookin for them for ages
Thank you! Ive seen them at aquatic Avenue and i think green chapter too. Thats some time back so not sure if theres stock atm
@@SGBeardedAquarist Thank you so much!
I recognize that store. I think Ryo did a tour a few weeks ago 🤔
Yes he did!
@@SGBeardedAquarist That's cool that you know about Ryo dude! 💚
U should do a shrimp tank for one video as it’s one of the most satisfying tanks to make and watch
That might just be my next!
Fish:
1. Yellow bellied damsel (yes)
2. Twinspot anthias (yes, but may be picky eaters)
3. Blue tang (no, they are very prone to diseases like ich)
4. Oscellaris clownfish (yes)
5. Yellowtail blue damsel (yes)
6. Mix of fish: All the smaller fish are pretty good for beginners except for the purple fire gobies because they do get aggressive and are notorious for jumping out of tanks).
As for your tank setup, its actually pretty good except for the wavemaker placement as the outflow from the filter is facing the same direction. Wavemakers are best utilised in regions with low/no water flow to eliminate dead zones (low oxygen areas). Also, the dead coral you put under the live rock may scratch the fish that swim by due to its sharp edges. Its actually used to provide calcium and also buffers alkalinity and ph. They can be placed in the sump/filter. Another nitpicky thing is that saltwater is usually mixed in a bucket of water before filling the tank up as its easier to control the salinity of a bucket of water (3-4 litres) than the much larger tank you're using.
Thanks for sharing so much!! Definitely helps especially with the choosing of fish. Ill shift wavemaker when I'm back to add the fish 😁
@@SGBeardedAquarist No problem! I've actually been to aquatic solutions a couple of times because of your first video! Kinda sad that I didn't catch you there but there's always next time lol.
Get the saltwater puffer! 😍 So much personality just like FH. Btw how's the give away contest going on. 😂
That puffer is sooooo cute! The winners for the giveaway with SAS have already collected their prizes 🤣
1. Never put livesand in freshwater
2. Damselfish (bluefish with yellow tail, is increadibly territorial and will kill any other future additions)
3. Biopallets shouldnt be sprinkled into the filter chamber like that, it works best in a reactor
Other than that you are fine
Roger that! Thank you for the advice! :)
i ve smashhhhed the subscribe button as u say
Oh yeahhh
Clown fishes flame angels and fish 1 should do fine tgt as well as the ‘tetras’ in a school. Mollies can be added by slow drip acclimation over about 1hr or more.
Mollies can handle full saltwater salinity?? Thats so cool
SG Bearded Aquarist tried it but the damsels attacked it
Marine Betta Fish 👍🐠
Oh noo the salt mixing part was supposed to before you put the sand.... The sand was live sand and you put fresh water on the live marine sand😢😢. Live sand(has bacteria in it to jump start the cycle) That would not be as bad if you only used dry sand. You just have a set back though. about a couple months as most marine bacteria died and the nitrogen cycle may have a longer ammonia stage. But it will be interesting to see how much of a set back it that may cause. I wonder what she is going to say to you in tje nex video
Oh no! Hahaha its good i make all the beginner mistakes though so eventually people can learn from it!
@@SGBeardedAquarist yep i am glad you are doing as a learning experience i can't wait till the next video😹
My wife has been bugging me to set up a marine tank.I know nuts about it.
Can you guide me,bro?
Which place this bro
I live your arowana fish
I want buy
Which arowana fish? This is Specialised Aquatics Solutions. No arowana there tho!
Sorry to say epic fail but I know you will get there you have the best mentor
No need to be sorry! I'm glad its an epic fail. Best way for everyone to learn is from mistakes and I'm fine it's my mistakes 😁
"Can I google?"
"No ~"
hahaa
Hahahahaha! 🤣
with a tank of that size..just set up a clown fishes only tank with some anemone.
Thanks for the recommendation Sani!
Fish 5 are the strongest to start.fish 4 dorrie will work for 3 years then gets massive.... That black strip angelfish to die for.
Thanks for sharing! Ill keep fish 5 in mind 😁
You need to mix the salt with the water. It is like making a coffee out of the powder.
Hahahaha thats a great metaphor
@@SGBeardedAquarist yea
Keep 2 clown fishes. And use cups for mixing salt.
Thanks for the suggestion and advice! 🙂
**smashes subscribe button**
(Gets unsubscribed)
**Sad aquarius noises**
SMASH IT AGAIN
Put clown fish, mollies and some crabs in there!
I think the salinity is too high for mollies?
pair clown fish
Thanks for the suggestion Normanoz
Yeeeeess! Yeeeeeesss! Mwahahaha Welcome to the Reef side. First order if business, JOIN REEF2REEF. Nuff said. Let me help your stock list. Only 1-2 fish per month. Fire fish, clown pair, Royal Gramma, Cardinals. No (non clown) damsels!!! Ever! By the way you mix the saltwater before you put it in. Oh boy. She's gonna fail you.
😂😂😂
I hear fish one are pretty easy to.raise. No live rock. Maybe a couple of invertebrates. Driftwood. Nooooo
HAHA! Yes thay driftwood was just for trolling ;) I'll keep fish one in mind! 😁
Fish 1 fish 2 fish 3 fish 4 fish 5 fish 6 fish 7 fish 8 fish 9 and fish 10
No fish 11? :(
Hehe
You need to mix the water before you put it in the tank
Thanks for correcting my mistake! 😬
SG Bearded Aquarist yea no problem 🙂
That's a wrong way to mix the salt like that especially with sandbed, many of the salt grain will just settle on the sandbed and the wavemaker is not strong enough for mixing. Mix in a bucket with a strong circulation pump making sure it dissolve thoroughly, use ur hand or some tools to help stir it if you need to.
Start with clown fish for that tank size after nitrogen cycle n u won't go wrong 🤙🏼🤟🏼
Thanks for the advice!! I thought it was ok because there was no live stock in there yet, didnt think about the sand. A great lesson everyone will learn from me making it hahaha
@@SGBeardedAquarist Lol. U can mix it in the tank but make sure the tank is empty. Then only add the sand n rockscape last after the salt is mixed thoroughly. Waiting for ur part 2 now haha
Clown Fish.
Yea first like lmaoo
You need an award for always being so fast!
Hahaha
