😂 Came here to say the same thing. It surely isn't EVERYBODY'S cup of tea...but there is A LOT being said in this song... Even without knowing the lyrics.
What does he think Will is doing? Random noises mixed with single words? I mean even without understanding is the fact that lyrics are there should make sense, right?
"instrumentals along with a person that could sing" wow man. Will actually can sing beautifully. The POINT of this style is to maximize intensity and push boundaries. Without the harsh vocals it loses so much of its power.
There is nothing about them that is about "hey look how fast I can play". Every part has a purpose and a meaning. I understand this isn't your cup of tea but these are some of the top musicians in their genre. If you have a hard time keeping up with the intense drums to headbang, then headbang in half time and you will feel the melody pulse through you. For how fast they play, it is really a slow song. Listen to the flow of the orchestrated backing track to find the real flow of the song.
@@TylertheFancy it's not his dislike of the music we aren't happy about it's his ignorance to the whole thing reminds me of an old man telling kids to stay away from his lawn
Don’t understand all the “hate” comments- it’s their first deathcore reaction here. It’s a deeeep pool to dive into. I’ve been into general “metal” for a long time (I say that at 28 years old, definitely not as long as other listeners) and I mean even back in my middle school years was when I first heard Lamb of God and at that time, it was too much for me- but I was intrigued. It’s an acquired taste and it isn’t for everyone. Granted I “evolved” fast- went from lamb of god straight to Whitechapel within a couple weeks. ANYWAYS- Not at all an abnormal reaction for a first listen into the genre. Just be careful- the more and more you dive into it and listen you just may start loving it! 🤪🤘
The singer does a full analysis of the vocals he does in this song showing every technique to element watch to it truly understand how complex just the singing is.
Just my opinion as a 50yo lady who only started listening to metal 3 years ago and Lorna Shore 4 months ago. It’s not actually the music that’s the issue but if are open to it you can learn to listen to it, no need to try and keep up with the tempo of Austin’s drums they become sort of white noise and you find the beautiful melodie’s and the lyrics are actually amazing in Lorna Shore songs, but you need to read along to be able to understand at first and afterwards you can’t un-hear them. Will also has a beautiful clean voice and they’re lovely guys who love telling stories trough their music. You saying this music makes you aggressive surprises me 🤔 it doesn’t have this effect on me at all. But not everyone enjoys the same things and that’s fine, just maybe give it a chance instead of dismissing it. Like the rocking granny’s say ‘analyse before you criticise’ be kind
Absolutely, I also love to use that white noise analogy. A lot of deathcore makes me feel more relaxed than anything. I use it to sleep sometimes. On the other hand, to get amped up I’ll put on some hardcore like Kublai Khan or Paleface Swiss, that gets me pumped more than deathcore
Give this guy a break, This type of music is not for everyone. Deathcore is a jarring genre to hear for the first time. It can just be to much to some people and thats ok. I've listened to metal since i was in high school(2007-2011) ans only just got into deathcore 4 years ago cause in all that time i was just not into it. At the time it was just to much for me so i get where he is coming from. Keep doing what you're doing guys, baby steps
So good!!! 🐽🐷🐽🐷🐽🐷 I forgot to mention Will Ramos has crazy good cleans as well. But the Lorna Shore brand is deathcore, so the band members said there will never be any clean vocals with this band. However Will does sing on his personal channel, doing other covers 💪🏻 I vote for the Pain Remains Trilogy for some emotional deathcore ballads 🔥 You guys are officially my fave reaction channel! ❤
So the thing about will Ramos is he CAN sing. Very well, but this type of music is meant to feed off emotion, it's meant to make you feel things and then eventually be lyrically analyzed. Listen first to get the feeling it's trying to give you, then listen a second time with the lyrics to hear the message of the song.
It does sound good! I can hear most of the words after one lyric video. Lots of melody, great musicianship. Will Ramos is a vocal beast and that's not easy to do.
The pain remains trilogy is really good. Pull up the lyrics on the side if you want to follow along with what he's saying. If you want to hear him singing clean vocals look up Will Ramos cover to sleep token song chokehold
Haha probably a bit of an intense song to pick as your first deathcore song. And i get it, its not for everybody, and I can respect and appreciate that you're being honest with your reactions but i do feel like the more derisive remarks like "where is the melody" or "do something that sounds good" are a bit uncalled for. Music being subjective, obviously "good" is different for everybody and these kind of statements just come across as condescending to anyone who might enjoy it or find some value in it. Idk, it's your channel and like i say, respect for being honest man don't ever change that. I guess just those comments made me feel kinda sad cause i wish that everybody could feel as good as i feel when i listen to metal. 😔 anyway that's more of a "me" problem. Hey, if nothing else you gave it another chance and i appreciate that 🙏 all the best
Sitting with a blank face listening to Lorna Shore and saying there are no lyrics and they aren’t talented makes me absolutely not even think about watching this guy ever again
Lol I'd LOVE to know when he said, "They aren't talented." Please, show me at which part 'cause I bet you can't 😕 So weird how people make stuff up like this. -Kay
9:44 “Imagine like talented instrumentals along with like a person that could sing, like I’d be more interested in that.” Essentially saying Will can’t sing and is the main thing you didn’t like about the “headache material”. Big ups for giving it a try and giving your honest opinions about it. It’s not for everyone and if it’s not for you I wouldn’t recommend being part of future deathcore reactions because you won’t enjoy it and will only get more flak.
Ive watched people follow or read the lyircs as theyre listening and its brought some to tears, what this guy can do is beyond just about anyone else in the genre and its meaningful stuff! *side comment austin archie is an absolute beast in the kit and should not be taken lightly*
also, what sounds good is completely subjective. what it takes to tie all this together is nothing short of incredible. This dude has the worst insight into music its hilarious
Will Ramos (the vocalist) can do BEAUTIFUL clean vicals too. I highly suggest going to his personal channel and checking out his sleep token covers. Will is a man of many talemts! Also, check out his throat camera video on the charismatic voice channel.
Will is actually an absolutely amazing singer. I can see where this music isn’t for everyone, but Yall should check out his covers of sleep token. Insane.
I’ve been listening to deathcore for a few years now, and I can say i felt the same way as this guy at first. Forced myself to listen to it cuz i thought it was weird but interesting and very skill/technicality based. The more i listened, the more i discovered the intricacies with this style of music and the ways it differently conveys its messages. Also, it takes a WHIL to start being able to pick up on what theyre saying with this type of vocals. And Will’s vocals are relatively clean. I can still barely pick up the words in some of Signs of the Swarm’s stuff, especially The Disfigurement of Existence album
You really should do a reaction to the pain remains songs. There's 3 and they're actually a long tied together love ballad. There's some videos with lyrics laid over so you can actually follow along. Lorna shore is currently my favorite deathcore band and Will Ramos is an amazing vocalist.
Also worth noting, a lot of heavy metal musicians are classically trained. I believe Will Ramos, the lead singer at minimum is classically trained. A band local to me in the genre of black metal, their guitarist has his masters in Music Composition. 😅 So yeah...maybe think this one through and give it another go some day. Maybe when your feeling a little more open minded.
I have a cat play thing like you guys have there in the BG, my cat dusk completely fucked it up to the point to where it's not even recognizable anymore. She's a demon.
I understsnd the advesrion to music like this, but id truly recommend you listen to will ramos's one take of the vocals. It shows just how talented the guy is. Plus something like his cover of chokehold by sleep token will show his true vocal prowess if you want to see some clean vocals.
So metalcore is not for easy listeners. The growls are so hard to do, if you try it you may hurt your throat. And the song is about the descent into hellfire, so I think fear is a feeling that fits here very well. Like a really good horror movie.
that was a good reaction :D the song is so popular because of the shock value, BUUUUUT if you'd really like to listen to some melodic beautiful ballads from them, Pain Remains trilogy WITH lyrics pls pls pls
This song sounds amazing, what do you mean? Oh right "good" is completely subjective. The melodic work is well done, the layers are deep and varied, you can listen past the chaos and really just lock into the melody. Instead of trying to resist the music, consider trying to understand the emotions it is attempting to portray. As with all Lorna's tracks, lyrics are in the description, what does these lyrics try and tell you WITH the music? Anxiety pain fear and a desire to be done with the experience the story is taking you through. The placements of the breakdowns, the solo the grit at the the end and the release as the song concludes. Closing your mind and focusing on what you dont like is tragic when there is so many good things that can be said. Also the harsh vocals are better experienced as another instrument, its really the only thing you can really do to begin acclimating to something like this. Its like any other acquired taste, some people take easier, others have to take it slower and ease in and reframing it can be a good way to ease in.
To old mate(don't know your name yet), it might not be your cup of tea, but don't discount it sounding good to millions of other people. I could sit here and say Taylor Swift sounds like dog shit and have half a billion people disagree but that's not fair to anyone. Different strokes for different folks.
Your initial reaction "I feel like this music is a race" is kind of funny because, that type of metal does exist (see archspire, in the Tech Death genre) but Lorna Shore most certainly is NOT in that category. Listen to this song and pay more attention to the over arching sound rather than an individual instrument. I know I know, hearing death core initially it is hard, but trust me when you really step back from it, yes the bass drum is machine gun paced, but the actual song is really fairly leisurely paced, and it gets slower as the song goes on. Trust me when I say, Deathcore takes some getting used too. But once you can dial into it, and not just get overwhelmed it is a fascinating genre that has produced some truly emotional music. Check out the song when a demon defiles a witch by Whitechapel for an older Deathcore song that hits hard on the feels. For a current one though YOU GUYS HAVE TO hear Lorna Shores Pain remains trilogy. Don't pussy foot about with it, do the entire trilogy of music videos with the lyrics on screen, I guarantee you will come away with a different view of the genre as a whole. Someone on UA-cam has made a perfect edit of all three back to back with lyrics, and it is an amazing way to take that set of songs in.
I very much enjoyed your reaction and how you were able to respect each others opinion, and the honesty. Death Metal is not for everyone, that is true. I used to hate it, now it's my favorite. Either before or after listening to the song. Some videos will show you the lyrics. For example, another wonderful song by Lorna Shore, Cursed To Die, can be viewed with lyrics here: ua-cam.com/video/JN_pIKKyYFM/v-deo.html
