"a certain amount of grace." the effects of ageing as are evident in your word choice. grace, empathy, thinking of others and questioning yourself are the effects of the older brain. which is wonderful. your approaching the status of homo sapiens. you are able to supress the fight flight response and engage your social and cognitive assets. when young, we "react" when older, we begin to slow down and think. fortunately you are a humanist and demonstrate a plasticl, agile brain, and fewer hormones.
When you have immature reactive behavior such as Trump and Musk, thereinto tends to be underlying deep security. I'm glad that you are checking yourself into not getting sucked into their drama.
Galloway & Musk are operating in two different Theaters. Ask yourself this question: if each one approached you with a genuine venture partnership, which one would you select?
Why is the best revenge to just have a better life? I don't really remember you talking about why that is. I'm not at a place in life where I can take slights easily. So why?
22:30 - I don't celebrate Angela Merkel as a role model. She single handedly helped Germany go from the 4th largest economy to its current state of demise. Manufacturing is what drove this country and put Europe on their shoulders. She knew solar and wind couldn't provide enough energy to power homes in Deutschland while turning off all nuclear power plants. She is a scientist who screwed her own population. I'm thrilled I don't live there because of her decisions as a leader. Can a politician of her statue admit they were wrong? That's rhetorical. No. This country is forced to burn more coal and wood pellets today than before, hence are dirtier with a larger carbon footprint. There are many factors at play (mass immigration to EU from Syria, Africa and Afghanistan) but she was in charge for 19 years. 2 million refugees moved in during her tenure. It appears to be too many people to support. I have to admit Trump was right about relying on cheap Russian power. 2023 doesn't lie. Hopefully people realize she made some poor decisions that haunt the country today even though she gave nice yearly Christmas speeches.
38:35, cross cultural and across time. Women judged by their looks, men judged by their status. It is human nature we don't even realize we do it. But go to any city down to untouched tribes in the amazon. You could make an argument that different society define beauty and status differently.
Started to get into Scotts messages today, but he's kind of a jack@ss after listening to this. He sounds like Howard Stern. Too bad because he seemed genuinely intelligent.
I see space x rocket and I appreciate elon’s work. I see a tesla, same thing. Ignore the rest. His reckless edge is a superpower and does not work with social media. Costing him many dollars.
Mr. Galloway has such a huge ego... here he is dunking on Musk, when he's Mr. "Look at me..." Big left wing liberal Pro govt, pro vaxx. Smart man though...
So NOT IMPRESSED w/ either of these men.... Their conversation is all about "them".... "me me me".... Where is the stoicism and wisdom? They do a great job of dishing out advice while talking about themselves...
Yes, it felt imbalanced, too much time was spent on body strength - it seems to matter a lot to Scott, it's likely that his challenge is or will be age and the loss of physical power (I am not saying I don't understand him). Nevertheless I agree with both of them that it's important to be in good physical shape, good for the individual, good for the nation. I liked Ryan's point that it's a win to put on your running shoes, every time. Discipline can be a rewarding virtue. Amongst many other things sports increases the overall share of things you are in control of, and this may add satisfaction to your life. PS: I practice martial arts, I really love it but I ... NEVER ... think I want to be able to kill everyone in the room)
Mr. Scott was a narcissist and he still is, while he may claim to be otherwise. If you follow the conversation, most of it is geared towards him and how he is a changed man and how he is better than others out there. Sad interview.
Well, it's pretty obvious that he is working on it to become a kind person. Respect that. We should be happy about every influential person who does this, MrTeslaX :-)
Scott is a stoic. He controls his temper and behaviour. Living with more grace and sympathy. Forgiving himself and others. Appreciate his insights.
"Becoming remarkable slowly"...exactly
I love listening g to Scott. He is very authentic and has many interesting things to say. Kudos to Ryan who lets his guest speak without interrupting.
Ditto.
Living well is indeed the "ultimate revenge".

Two of my favorite thinkers. Glad to see you could get together for some laughs.
Amazing timeless advice!
Scott always brings the heat on the quotes
Wow, so many valuable thoughts, thank you Scott/Ryan.
Scott wants young people to be fit. A worthy goal. The military is currently having trouble finding fit recruits.

"Access to great, affordable higher education, is how a lot of unremarkable kids born in the 60s and 70s, got to become remarkable, slowly".

Well don Rishi Sunak..i KNEW ur future was in podcasting
Wtf is that background clicking noise?!?!?!?
Imagine unironically saying that the things coming out of Elon’s mouth are “unfiltered honesty”
You must interview Gary Null someone that’s been canceled since the 1970’s.
Clicking and banging noises ruined it for me otherwise great guest.
The blame game continues.. stoicly.
Agree assholism is rampant, little grace concerning

Bro Scott you don't have another roll model to criticize other than Trump?
Follow both of you…Scott is like a capitalist Ram Dass. Tries to be upfront and honest.

Why does Scott never mention his wife? Is she not worth his time and energy?
She knows that she is married to a bullshit artist and probably isn't happy about it, so he stays away from that issue to keep peace in the family.
Some people like to keep their family life private and their partner and children out of the public.
