This is the way to spend winter, in my opinion! Staying warm and cozy at home, sewing, knitting, experimenting in the kitchen and enjoying family time! I really loved this video and the different pieces of fabric you put together look beautiful! 💕

I really wish happiness was a choice. I agree that it is to an extent, but people and difficult living circumstances can really cause a person to feel down at times. Life isn't always fair and no matter how much sugar you add to the lemons, once someone has thrown in a bit of vinegar, it just seems to spoil the whole batch.
@@hahna77 agreed. I didn't choose to feel immense depression after the birth of my son. It happened to me, and then it left as quick as it came.
Yes we have many choices. My choice is to lean into the Lord to help change my perspective. To be thankful that I'm healing from my prolapse surgery and to be thankful that the breast cancer I was diagnosed with was caught in its early stage 1. I'm also thankful and I give all the glory to God that my genetic testing for cancer came back negative. I have to remind myself to trust God, whatever comes my way. But I do have those times when I just need to cry and have my husband hold me or a friend to remind me that they're praying for me that I'll get through this. I'm not sharing this to make people feel sorry for me but to remind everyone that we will find ourselves in situations where we need someone to walk beside us, to hold our hand, to give us a shoulder to cry on, to remind us we're not alone.

It is a very hot summer here in South Africa with days close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. God's creation is fascinating and truly wondrous. For health reasons my life came to a standstill the past six months and I realize how much I rely on God. Your videos and blessing us with an insight to your world is much appreciated. While I am not a quilter I enjoy the appearance of all things quilted. I love handmade items…crocheted, knitted, sewn, cooked from scratch and put together from nature. And…books, made of paper pages, are treasures to me. Thanks for slowing me down while watching your video. 😍

My grandmother taught me how to quilt. A little tip from grandma Racene, if you press your seems open before making the complete square you’ll get better final stitches and the quilt top will lay flatter when you quilt it.

Beautifully put together video again, absolutely catches the essence of how we can simply 'be' during the winter months.
The Lord set out a plan for the rhythm of life that serves us best, the way we can be custodians of what we have been blessed to take care of (even if it's a little yard!).
We live slowly, the old way... everything takes longer, yields are lower and pests take some of the bounty BUT... knowing we are living rightly makes up for the losses.

I did a quick search on Amazon to look for The Book of Stillmeadow that you were reading at the beginning of the video. I live in CT and it sounded interesting. They have a few copies of it, one is priced at over $600! Put it in a safe place, it's like money in the bank. Yikes! I'll have to check used bookstores here.

Beautiful birdsnacks, but maybe melted bacon grease is not so healthy for birds because of the type of fat and it contains a lot of salt. Loved the cosy wintervibe though!
