Rempe is still a kid. Let him mature and grow into his NHL body. Hopefully next season he won’t need to fight as much and he can concentrate more on his hockey skills which still need work.
Literally, that’s what the rangers are trying to get him to do get familiar with all the aspect of the game and work on things he need to do in order to be a better player rather than a goon and he slowly, but surely getting better in understanding what helps the team best

I'm a Ranger fan but have to admit McDermid probably had the edge in that one, but it was close. Wish there was more footage of the Miller vs Marino fight. Now that was a one sided beat-down. I like that Rempe loves to fight, but he really needs to get better at it.
That fight was a tie... clearly. Agree with the Miller footage. It looked like he was taking it to whoever he was matched up against. The footage was so bad that at one point the video switched to Shesterkin picking up gloves while the fight was going on. Pathetic production.
as a Rangers fan I give it to McDermid, I think there was more on the line for him to put it all out there vs Rempe. McDermid on the attack most of the time imo.
I honestly don't know much about Mac when he was on the Avs. But as a Devils fan, I appreciate his respect for the game, knowing his role and playing that nicely. He's saying all the right things without crossing the line. I think Rempe needs to get there sooner than later at the pace he is going if he doesn't want to be target #1 everywhere he goes.

He has yet to develop his game to fallback on when he doesn't need to use his fists. I think for someone trying to break into the league he has definitely made a name for himself and accomplished as much - but now he needs to be the consummate professional, ala Mac, moving forward: grind out the opposition, lay some solid* hits, and put up some points.
He can’t. It’s an NHL rule now that players coming into the league have to wear a shield. It’s grandfathered in so older players who have been in the league a certain length of time don’t have to wear one.
Rempe is getting better at fighting. Now that he can stand up in a fight he needs to throw combinations and realize when something is working to keep on doing it. He was tagging McDermid with the paddle-board lefts he should have just kept on throwing them. But he went for the big rights and he wasted all of his energy. That gave McDermid the decision for the match.

Sadly, This kid unfortunately is the victim of very poor draft choices, and poor coaching. He only does a couple of things well plays dirty and fights! Sooner or later when the real enforcement happens he will be disabled. Nexted thing his violent tendencies are going to get him hurt on or off the ice with brain damage from concussions, or joint injury and he will be debilitated beyond repair, and mommy & daddy with sue the NHL! Feel better? Sometimes spewing nonsense helps. For those bases in reality. Rempe won the beginning of that fight with his great left jabs that non-boxers keep ignoring in these comments. Mac won the end of that fight on stamina and ultimately they both agreed to discontinue the bout which in the NHL is a draw. Both showed a lot of respect for each other after the game. Also, the Rangers are one of the best teams in NHL history and not being eliminated in the first round. 62 playoff appearances and only 12 first round loses. In their last 10 playoffs, they only lost in round 1 3 times. During that same span, they went to 4 conference finals and a cup final. So despite Devils and Islanders fans trying to create the narrative that the Rangers are an early exit team, the history and facts don’t back it up.
Rempe does have business being in the NHL because he is making the game waaaaay more exciting to watch for all ages. The only thing he does is not fight he is actually a tremendous hockey player and is just aggressive which is a part of hockey. Matter a fact he is not a waste of cap space he is helping his team by getting them pumped up during those fights. A lot of people look up to him and wish to be as good as him. If you were just smarter you would know that the game of hockey is changing.

It has become a venue where people, a very small number thank goodness, spend their discretionary entertainment money to watch a train wreck. For those bases in reality. Rempe won the beginning of that fight with his great left jabs that non-boxers keep ignoring in these comments. Mac won the end of that fight on stamina and ultimately they both agreed to discontinue the bout which in the NHL is a draw. Both showed a lot of respect for each other after the game.
Also, the Rangers are one of the best teams in NHL history and not being eliminated in the first round. 62 playoff appearances and only 12 first round loses. In their last 10 playoffs, they only lost in round 1 3 times. During that same span, they went to 4 conference finals and a cup final. So despite Devils and Islanders fans trying to create the narrative that the Rangers are an early exit team, the history and facts don’t back it up.

It has become a venue where people, a very small number thank goodness, spend their discretionary entertainment money to watch a train wreck.
