What’s funny is I always heard this growing up in America. I grew up in a Czech enclave and would hear it going to dances. Never thought anything of it. Then I heard people from Northern Mexico doing it too. Come to find out Texas has a bunch of Czechs livening there and the Mexicans loved their polka music. It’s honestly fun hanging out and enjoying shared cultural things. “Oh you have brass bands and accordions, check out my Czech brethren.”
Mexicans have a similar celebratory yell for sure, especially "El Grito". There is actually a lot of similarities between Mexican and Slavic cultures.

@@timax4114 I know, just like some majority of Bulgarians participate in Slavic events.
This says yet another proof that many Slavs did not heal from non-Slavic ideologies, such as nationalism (too long to explain in commentary).
All this emanated around 18 and 19 century from the Germanic world which told some that they are not Slavs, therefore that they have no reason to ally themselves with other Slavs ... etc.
