That's actually Peter's parent's younger cousin not direct siblings. In China every member of the extended family are also aunt, uncle or cousins. One child policy doesn't stop you from having aunts uncles and cousins. Chinese kinship is a lot closer than the western world's idea of kinship
As a native grew up in Shaoyang, the dishes that Peter’s aunt presented are so good, all are local specialties, Amy you are so lucky to have Peter as your guide and to be invited to a local home and try these authentic nice dishes.
The art of Chinese cooking lies in 手感 (feel), so each household has more or less a slightly different taste even if they are cooking the same dish. Stir fried beef , veges & rice is already a complete meal on it's own; but in Chinese culture when you have guests there tends to be more dishes on the table! Typically when you visit a Chinese household its usually 三菜一汤 ie 3 dishes and one soup.

I mention this because my friend who is Asian where his son get bullied in high school where the Western teen yelled at him "Get the hell out of our country, you evil Chinese" which I felt very upset for him. The brainwash power from the media is terrible.

I mean I’m already fluent in English so I just learn French/German/Japanese/Hungarian like how I learned English and voila, that makes me a polyglot 😂 you can do that as well once you feel like you’re already fluent in English 😁

These fruit look like tangelos, a cross between a tangerine and a pomelo. They are commonly available here in Australia.
