Once both of my parents died the very same thing that Richard Alpert said has been going through my mind ever since.

Damn, so sorry. Your life has a meaning. Just the fact that you were born means your existense has the purpose. To live and try being happy, that's what it is. Hope you will find peace and happiness. I hope I didn't sound preachy or whatever; just trying to say something reassuring.

Imagine what it would feel like for Richard to be back in that hold, on the space ship that brought him there.

Even if he wanted to dabble in assisted suicide, I'm sure Jack wasn't all that impressed that Richard was asking for it to be done via dynamite.

But how did Jacob protect them from death if hes already dead. Jacobs power stopped Richards immortality surely it would stop the invincibility of the candidates aswell?

I love Lost, but I think it had a lot of potential to be something much greater than it what it was. This is strange to say, because it is one of the most iconic TV shows of all time. However, this ending reminds me of the many opportunities the series had to remind our species that we truly did not matter...and that fact in itself is the most beautiful part of our existence.
They were not ready for Lost just as Lost was too far ahead of it's present reality. It makes me wonder how many people are walking among us that are too far ahead of their time and yet, we're just not ready for them.

1:53 _"I devoted my life longer than you can possibly imagine in service of a man who told me that everything was happening for a reason. That he had a plan. A plan that I was a part of and when the time was right that he'd share it with me. And now that man's gone. So why do I want to die? Because I just found out my entire life had no purpose."_
Said every fan of Lost, ever. This is master-level trolling by Lindelof. He's literally having a character comment on his own writing.

lol no. There was an overall plan and it was executed. he didnt 'die' before revealing his plan. Lost is a completed story

    • @KneelB4Bacon

@@supremeworld87 No it isn't. "Lost" is a series of Mystery Boxes, where important questions get raised and then never get answered. Lindelof is a master of this bait-and-switch storytelling. He'll raise an interesting question. Then, when the time comes to answer that question, he will either not answer it ("a good question. for another time") or answer a totally different question (usually a boring, mundane question not related to the original "deep" question).
And audiences fall for this sh*t all the time. They think that the show was "deep" (because it asked a deep question) but they can't remember WHY it was "deep" (because that question was never answered). Lindelof isn't smart or talented enough to answer the deep question, so he answers the boring question instead and hopes you've forgotten about the deep question by the end of the show. "Prometheus" is another example of this that totally proves my point about him.

    • @supremeworld87

@@KneelB4Bacon yes it is completed. I see the same sheep parroting the same fucking inane, factually incorrect garbage ad nauseam. The answers are there in the show you just have to pay attention and actually join the dots. Lost IS a completed story and anyone who sets otherwise is just salty about how it ended. Its JJ, not Lindelof, who is the mystery box guy. Lindelof and Cuse answered their mysteries
And what's all that waffle about the 'deep' question and the 'boring' question,? What on earth are you talking about? You sound like you think you're smarter than you are. And Lindelof is a talented writer. His work on Watchmen and Leftovers is evidence of this. some of Losts writing was incredible. Some it was plain bad also but the good outweighed the bad
