Walter Cronkite is a legend. Dude had to tell the world that JFK and MLK had passed away.
He, and all those people from that time period, KNEW how to give the news. Not like nowadays, where they talk so fast and have so much BS in between. This was real journalism! Cronkite is sorerly missed... RIP, Mr. Cronkite, the king of newscasters.
Even some of us, who were not alive during that time but learned about in school or TV, felt horrible about it and love JFK. I do, for sure. I'm a JFK assassination buff now. I hope it gets solved soon.
Great film. It opened my eyes up. I watch it many times. There seem to be masses of information coming out now. I remember seeing the TV news flash in England soon after he was assassinated. I was just fourteen then and I was deeply shocked.

Sounds like your grand dad was in the rear with the gear. American soldiers took home MILLIONS of souvenirs. MY best friends grandad was in the 101st, jumped in Normandy, and took home a Mauser rifle with the dead kraut's name on it. In fact, that was a BIG industry, German relatives paying for the return of a fallen relative's weapon.
