I used to shop here, I loved the Bluebird Toffee, Aniseed Balls, So sad the old world sweet shops have all closed, the joys of going in and asking for a Quarter of something and watching as they got the Jar down and tipped it into the scales, then into the bag and that practiced flip of the wrists that swung the bag and twisted both corners. Its like the old school Iron Mongers where you could get Fork Handles .... lol (you need to know the show and the joke)
I used to by Sobranie ciggies (and fireworks from October) back in the 70's on my way home from School! Pop into there then Grays records next door (where Coral is now) and over the road to Forte's for a cup of tea waiting for the bus! Ah, the days of my misspent youth!
I cannot believe that it's closing!!!!!!! I always get apple bonbons from there!!!!! I got a HUUUGGGEEEE jar of Apple Bonbons for my birthday the 21st May and i stiiillllll have it. I'm saving it!!!!!! :) DON'T CLOOSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
