I love the way you make your animals feel safe you go out of your way to make them happy ❤️🕷
Try to put a few drops of mineral oil on those hinges, it might keep them from squeaking so much. Great build by the way.
To separate the substrate from the drainage layer you can also use window screen. It is less noticeable. That is what I do in my vivariums. It works really well.
Dude, your passion and creativity is contagious! I had never paid much to tarantulas being afraid of them but your education and presentation has me interested! Unfortunately it's convincing the family lol. They were against me owning snakes but once they were exposed they fell in love with them! I really really love unit enclosures designs and ideas and hope to use them in the future! Thank you!
You have the best DIY enclosure videos! Your older enclosure video is how I found your channel💚
I could not watch this video and leave without leaving a tanned, thank you for the video. I've been following your channel for a few months now, I do not know how to speak English at all, but seeing your pets really tickles me, so even without understanding what you say in your videos, I watch them anyway.
I used google translator to write this message, successes in this hobby
up until!
A few months ago I went on a binge of your videos recently I redid my aviculara versicolor enclosure and added a black cover too. Ive never seen my tarantula so happy and I can easily open it to make sure she is okay
That is the best arboreal enclosure idea I've seen in a long time can't wait for your rehousing video keep up the great work!
my favourite tarantula channel on youtube by far 10/10
BRO
i will for sure use this idea, my next tarantula will be a P. Metalica, and i honestly cant wait to see yours. their gorgeous. and your videos are GREAT!!!!
I just wanted ideas for an enclosure for my jumping spider. This video sent me down a whole new path! 2 weeks later I have a 1" Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens sling and I'm planning on making my own enclosures like this one.
The long awaited video. Looked awesome in theory, and looks even better in reality. Well done. German Amazon links do work btw.
Just absolutely incredible enclosure for your T. Thank you for showing us how to do this and taking the time to share with us everything we will need to do this cage.
And this is why I love you and your videos :)
:D
I think the concrete would look better (like the frog enclosure) it would look like a cliif ;/

@@TheDarkDen How do you cut acrylic sheets ?
Another great video! Most honest and greatest tarantula youtuber out there in my opinion, keep up the awesome videos!😃👍
This is an excellent design! So practical and it just makes so much sense. Great work!
I have always been terrified of spiders. But watching your videos has really helped me. I'm even considering getting a Tarantula. And that is something I never thought I'd want 😄
Honestly I love your videos. Your tank builds give me inspiration and ideas of my own and your arachnid videos make me favor tarantulas more (I'm not a huge fan of these 8 legged critters). When I get more money, I'm planning on building tanks on my own since it's way cheaper and more fun. Your imagination is endless!
I will definitely use this idea when I will finally convince my fiance that I can have my tarantulas in nice looking enclosure outside of a locker. In my opinion this is perfect for a spider and owner. Very very very good job. Greetings from Poland, keep it up :)
Fantastic video!!! I never thought of making my own enclosures, I assumed you paid tons of money for these! I think I will attempt to now!!! Great job!! And thank you so much for all of the information you share!!
Amazing. Your videos have inspired me to start keeping tarantulas. Unfortunately, I live in Maine, USA and we cannot keep them without obtaining both importation and possession permits so I have submitted my requests and now just have to wait to hear back from the state authorities. Keep up the great videos. I learn something every time.
Really? Try asking for local breeders on the aracnoboards, I'm sure that you do not need to import them.
Your links do change to the correct amazon! Love your videos. They make Monday and Friday work breaks better lol!
I have to agree with the mineral oil. Preferably food grade. Awesome build! I'll be watching and subscribing.
Looked like such an awesome idea on the computer model, looks amazing in reality. Well done on another brilliant DIY build.
Awesome enclosure! I use a long reach lighter for shaping styrofoam details and it works really well. Also, if you're doing much foam cutting at all, look in to electric foam cutters that use heat to slice the foam. No more foam mess. They cut clean.
Hmm, need to check them out, didn't even know such things exist :D
Really cool diy! My first tarantula is coming in the mail this week!
I love your diy videos! Working on my reptile terrariums is one of my most favorite activities and your ideas and projects help me think of things to do for my tanks. thanks for sharing maybe one day my wife will let me get an arachnid
Maybe if you ask her nicely, or get her into watching my videos ^^
That's a baller tank! Love the removable blackout pieces in order to get a look at your T. Thanks for the knowledge drop! Keep up the good work!
badass work man. lots of great ideas in that enclosure.
By farvthe best enclosure iv seen i want to try and make those tree hollows
I appreciate what you do. I've been learning some great information from your videos, thank you
I really enjoy your videos. That enclosure is great...I can't wait to build one.
What a passionate keeper. Cheers bro!
Glass has minuscule pores in it's surface structure where plexiglass is smooth. Silicone needs a structure to hold on to. I have succesfully connected glass to plexiglass with silicone by sanding the plexi a bit to give it the structure it needs to hold.
Very nice build
New viewer, love the diy stuff man.. I watch the kingofdiy for aquarium work and now I can watch yours for trantula enclosures
You are so talented Petko, very creative! I Always love your videos 🕸🕷😄
Awesome as always ! Keep up the good work 👍
I love your channel! It's so creative with content and specimens and you make the best enclosures, super helpful. Keep up the great work! :)
honestly, this is probably one of my favourite aspects of the hobby hahah
Fantastic enclosure, really really nice design! Ms or Mr Tarantula will love their dark snuggley hide, all its missing is a tv to watch and a coffee table to rest their eight weary legs on. ;)
Haha, she can build the coffee table if she wants it :D
The Dark Den 😂😂😂
Sorry to bother you again but I couldn't stop thinking about your problem of bonding plexiglass to glass, at first I was thinking a solution might be permabond but you'd need to mess around with uv curing, it can be messy and costly so then it hit me what about sugru, it bonds incredibly well to both plexiglass and glass, it's strong and incredibly durable and it's also cheap, unfortunately it doesn't come in clear but white might look ok if you use a thin enough layer. Anyway hope this gives you some ideas even if you don't use it yourself it might help someone else in the comments section. :)
Need to see what that sugru is. But the best solution would be just to make the whole enclosure out of plexiglass and use special weld on glue for acrylic.
The Dark Den Yeah total plexiglass is the best solution but here's a link to the sugru site just in case anyone needs it, found the magnet kit quite useful for my own enclosures. sugru.com/home-diy
That's really cool. Buying a terrarium of that size, even though it's small would be like 70-100 at my stores
Very cool, love the magnetic hide idea.
Great idea! I think this is ingenious and I look forward to trying it out on my next build.
I only keep finches and have planted aquariums...still love watching your videos..might even make me get into this hobby :P thanks man!
One of my favorite channels
The UK links work! I've just started in the hobby and i think your videos are awesome, very informative and entertaining at the same time. Keep it up man!
Good idea with the shagnum moss, be great for a lot of things.
As always great videos! I agree best arboreal design I've seen. keep up the great work Dark Den!
That's is really good plus I like the idea with magnets on the covers of the door and side of the enclosure and the dry moss for for a different texture looks cool 👍
absolutely awesome design. thank you kindly for sharing
Awesome!!! I love these type of videos good job man that enclosure is really cool and I think the dried moss was a good idea for a different texture and look 👍
This was an absolutely fantastic video :) I love this idea and I am going to try something similar with a terrestrial hide soon, like having a removable part of the hide/enclosure that won't disturb the T, but will allow you to check on them. :) Love your videos! Probably my favorite channel :)
as always, love your videos! i do like using a torch when i make backgrounds, but you can get a pen torch off amazon or at your local hardware. they are super nice and small and work great for this kind of thing! thanks again for your content!
Amazing! I am completely stealing this idea and possibly the design for my new Weta collection
Great Idea and well thought out, just hope your P.Metallica doesn't freak out when she is being viewed going from extreme dark to very bright, great build hope she likes it !
The links work for me in America. Love the enclosure. I'm sure your P. Metallica will feel very secure. Maybe a coat of paint will make the moss look more like rough stone? Not sure what kind would be safe and water resistant.
The Amazon links work for me (U.S.) will need to order a pair of those really long tweezers!
Gorgeous enclosure and perfect idea. Looking forward to designing my own one day using your vids!
Great job on your video, I recently adopted my first spider & purchased a small terrarium. Perhaps if I decide to upgrade I will build my own. I am definitely going to follow your instructions for building the interior.
Thanks & Take Care.
You have the best enclosures!
Nice enclosure. Sorry about that "Oh no, I stepped on it" scenario. Always sad to lose a tarantula. More tarantulas to come in the future. hope you get something from the Philippines like the POT (Philippine Orange Tarantula) aka Orphanceus philipinus.
Great video,I got many idea for my project enclo , tnx man, from philippines
I would buy this! Excellent vid!
again, you are awesome, and your videos are quality and entertaining! makes me think about making some tarantula videos of my own! i love arboreals
That looks so good. I'm new here and I love your content and passion!
very cool, the hide was awesome!
Your vids are fantastic. Thanks for sharing all this info with us :)
good job man nice idea with the hide 👍👍
Really like this idea. I will make this in the future for sure
Awesome ! Btw, although IM sure someone else probably mentioned it, these shortened Amazon links no longer work in the US.
I totally L.O.V.E. your Design !!! Awesome work !!! :D
The links work for me! Great video as always, I really love this enclosure!
looks great! do a housing video when you put a T in!
Awesome Enclosure!!
really great idea and great job!
This is pretty impressive. I wish I was so crafty.
If you want those hinges to squeak less try putting some graphite powder on them, I would recommend an oil, but oils can damage the plastic. Also if you want to smooth out silicon rubber with your finger try putting some spit on your finger before you do, it prevents the silicon from sticking to your finger and makes it really smooth, just be sure to use a lot of spit
nice enclo.. ill try building my self too.. thanks for the info.
This thing is BADASS!
Wow.. Fantastic work... Can't wait to see the transfer video. I hope everything goes well. :)
Thanks for your terrific videos. Would you be able to tell me how you sand the holes you drill in the acrylic without scuffing it so you can't see through it? Thank you
You my friend are a genius!
Once again great video,i dont know if you remember .But i commented on one of your videos and said i am getting my first t(b.smithi) i just wanted to say that its doing great and im definitely gonna try to do something similiar for its enclosure
Glad to hear that ^^
But B. smithi is terrestrial so it wont appreciate this type of the enclosure :P
How I wish I could just purchase a few of these from ya! So awesome! :)
Genijalno ! Bravo
really nice design!
Superb stuff! Ok am next...getting the better camera this week so should be onto my next parts.....I should have one done if all goes according to plan. My glue is looking a funny colour which is a bit worrying but I will be glueing the holders for the lid first off so will know if it's working good before I glue the rest of the enclosure together. (watching this has given me the drive to get them done).
Am happy that it all worked out so well! (yeah doors not fitting can be a pain..especially if you dont have a dremel). The foam and the substrate stuck on looks a lot better than the foam backrounds you can buy. Thats something I might look into to put into my 3 acrylic enclosures. Am wondering if a backround for a large terrestrial might look better than it being all open...
I will probably also try to make a plexiglass enclosure...but that weld-on is impossible to find here in Croatia D:
What the glue or the acrylic?
Yes
😍 This is bad ass! I'm going to try it!
Genius and easy made :O nice one
Excellent work, so good I think I might copy it 😉
Found my way here after jon3800 mentioned you. Love the channel, and you have yourself a new subscriber! :D
Cool video. Cool background with hide. 👍🤘🤗
Great video. Awesome enclosure. Lucky tarantula.
Side note : amazon link to Canada didn't work.
hey man i really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work :)
heyyy
so I think your idea is really cool!!!
I have a thought about an upgrade!
you can glue ( with a hot glue gun ) piecies of bark from trees or something like that to the black covers ( to the outside ) so they will look more natural
and again sorry for your t!
you are actually really good at designing and building stuff. maybe you should start build and selling stuff. im sure people would buy it and its a nice side-income.
Get this on the market!
