Hey awesome! video Im a huge fan bro. How much are you paying for your glass ? so I can try to get a good deal Im in USA and cant find anything that justifies buying new glass .
@@Empowerinvesting I just made 1. I bought glass for 2 terestrial and 4 arboreal by the schematic provided and payed 50 euros for glass. So parts+glass+glue is around 20 euros per enclousure.
Arg, again I messed up and didn't set the correct time to publish this video, so it randomly went live at midnight 😤 The page with parts wasn't online, but now it is and you can actually order the parts!
@@BriceLijewski Most welcome. I was born and raised in America but have lived in Germany for the last 10 years but being a metal worker and welder helped a lot in understanding the conversions of mm to imperial.
After 2 months I have just finished watching all of your videos in order. It was like binge watching a box set! What a journey you have been through over the years from your apartment dark den to your current basement in your own house. Seeing how amazed you were at getting 200 subscribers, I bet you never thought it would grow to what the channel is now. Having seen your enclosures develop from the original acrylic hinged ones to this current form, definitely will not miss the noise the hinges made. When I started watching your videos I had 1 tarantula, now I have 17 along with spiny assassin guys and African giant millipedes. Keep up the great vids, I have learnt a lot from you.
Simply the best terrarium build video I’ve ever seen. Petko even explain how to cut the end of the nozzle of the silicon tube. Pure excellence. Thanks!
Got my first gbb today. It's been a while since I looked at any T videos, you've always been my favorite. But the funny part is my wife and I where literally just talking today about if you might make a video on your enclosures. Lol Awesome! Thanks man! Hope you've been doing great! After watching catch up video, it seems so! 🌱
The parts are such a clever idea and I love that you can customise it yourself with different dimensions. I hope this really takes off and can't wait to see what you do next!
Very instructional video, Petko. If you'd like to expand your already impressive English vocabulary, the pointy thing at the end of your silicone gun (or your glue bottle, etc.) is called a nozzle. And the hammer with the wide head used for tapping or pounding things is called a mallet.
Very nice video well demonstrated for showing how to put it together well done. I hope your enclosures takes off for you so you can expand your hobby. I like watching you enjoy your hobby very much thanks for taking us along on this adventure. Be blessed.
Thank you for sharing this video and for making the required parts for your awesome enclosures available. I love DIY projects and a way to pimp my favorite Ts. You're the man and a great role model for the community.
I got glass from my glass cutter yesterday and are attempting to build my very own "Dark Den" enclosure this weekend. This video is amazing. Thank you very much!
Brilliant video! Just one question & recommendation: Why aren't you printing some sort of plastic guide rails for the edges? You can use them as connectors so you can just slide the glass parts in and apply the silicon then (if needed). This would surely make this whole process a bit easier and more consistent.
Actually, if you where to make those two back sections at the top into one and then give them a groove that fits onto the top of the glass that would reduce the complexity of putting the enclosure together both by having fewer parts and also only requiring that you use silicon for the entire enclosure. That would help with sales. Also, that vivarium looks like it coming together really well.
I just bought my first tarantula a few weeks ago (Tliltocatl albopilosus) and that seems reason enough to build a premium enclosure for her to get her out of that crappy kritter keeper she is in, so I definitely want to do this. And yes, she turned out to be female! Thank you for all of your wonderful content, this is definitely my favorite channel on the Tube.
Hi! I hope you and your family are doing well! I had many reptiles and amphibians for 20 years or so, but no spider yet! I’ve been following you for a year or so, and now, because of you, there is at least 5 species of spiders i want! SOON!! 🤩😎😍 Thank you for you’re awesome content/work. The way you maintain your animals is inspiring! Much love from Québec 😁
Petko thats great idea! Finally you find the best solution after many yers! Good job 👏 Its super fun watching yours videos you are such a optimistic person !
love the video and design Petko. I was just thinking, why not make the top plastic ventilation piece larger so you wouldn't need the small piece of glass at the top. That'd give you more ventilation and require one less piece of glass
Hi Petko, I like it! I was just wondering whould you make a 30x30x30 design? I think those are mostly used in tarantula and scorpion hobby. And they perfectly fit inside IKEA KALLAX shelves that many guys in hobby use.
Cant wait to get my hands on some of these, non of my T's are ready to move into something so big but i will for sure be buying some ready for when they are ! Great work Petko
very great many greetings from germany i am looking you for a long time and iam so happy that i found your channel i have learned so much from your videos good lock for your future and hope for many other videos
Hello Petko, for the glue part, I think you can try one more thing with the Bison glue: since the Bison stick more on the glass than the plastic, maybe sanding a bit the plastic could help the Bison to adhere better ?
just use gorilla glue and trigger clamps. or black hot glue lol. just make sure you wipe down the glass with isopropyl alcohol (with no dyes or fragrances) and let it fully evaporate before you glue.
Seem to be sold out already, which is good news for you :D All my spiders are too small for nice glass tanks yet but I will definitely get some of these when I need some adult setups. It's been really cool watching you develop your tanks over the years, they look amazing now
I love that the front and top both open up! Thank you for demonstrating your design, I am excited to give it a try! Does this design work well if acrylic is used instead of glass?
@@TheDarkDen You usually use Weldon 3 for Acrylic (available in USA), but it is not available in all countries. I believe MEK is an alternative in other countries. I'm going to start making my enclosures with Acrylic, bought a few 8'x4' sheets and some weldon 3. I'm excited to try it out!
Actually, this would be cool for anyone who wants to setup their own tarantula room. They could just order a bunch of these parts and build them as necessary, basically the same way you've been doing all along.
Yeah finding a glass shop that doesn’t charge a arm and leg for the glass pieces is hard part, local glass shop where I’m at in Canada charges over $100 to cut the pieces for one enclosure
Petko I love your videos and all that you do but I wish you would've done a Halloween video since your videos are on Monday and it fell on Halloween this year!! I was so excited to see a spooky video! Maybe next year. Happy Halloween 🎃 !!
I believe if you print the parts from a more stirdy material like PETG they will be pretty strong. I would love to print them myself instead of shipping them around.
Will you offer to sell built enclosures to US soon? Due to hard to get glass cut here in metric system. Or make parts in inches as well? That would be great. I ordered about 5 sets. Still tryna find glass for them that fit. Might have to just do some sanding.
Hello😃 I enjoyed the video. I'm thinking about purchasing a kit and I have two questions. Can I order it in South Korea and can it be made of transparent acrylic instead of glass?
Could you put extra mesh instead of the sliding glass? I'd love to scale this up to something like 45cm x 45cm x 90cm for my crested geckos. Would you be able to do something like this?
I think your design is brilliant. I know it took awhile to perfect it. I think it would be costly to have a glass company in the US to cut the glass panels for it. I think it would be better if one day you could improve it by making it into a knock down kit.
THIS IS AN OUTDATED VIDEO!
