Here it is: 24 hours with a newborn baby...I'm giving you a glimpse into a realistic day in the life with our 7-week-old baby. Note: Milo is now 14 weeks old, so I filmed this over a month ago now. Things are changing so quickly over here!

At this point (when I filmed this vlog), Milo was on a schedule of feeding every 3 hours during the day, and he was still waking up every 2.5-3 hours at night. Now, at almost 14 weeks, he is on a feeding schedule of eating every 4 hours during the day, and he now sleeps through the night (from about 9pm-8am) without waking up!
The early postpartum days were NOTHING like what I expected. There were so many postpartum emotions...so many highs and lows. But everything about having a newborn baby is cyclical. The whole day is an endless cycle of feeding, playing, napping, changing diapers and then doing it all over again. I am hoping that this video really captures what it felt like back in those EARLY EARLY days! I am working on doing an expectation vs. reality of having a baby video, so STAY TUNED FOR THAT!

Milo is absolutely adorable and I love the rubber band arms and legs. Having the baby nurse for the first 3 weeks was a godsend for sure.
OH MY GOSH! I thought I was the only person who did squats while I'm brushing, my roommates think I'm crazy. Glad I am not alone
When my son was a newborn he would always do that thing where they stare off into space and I would always try to get his attention and one time my husband said let him stare at the wall. He’s never seen a right angle before he’s amazed! To this day it cracks me up 😂
Yes, we all should stare at the wall a little more and stop taking those right angles for granted - they are one of the most useful types of architecture! 😅
Somehow I imagined your routine with the baby like this, Lucie. It is so well organised (even with the baby!) and gosh you are so well-prepared. You and Michelle are such wonderful parents. I wish all babies were loved by their parents like you love your little sweet potato petunia!
That was so sweet and informativr. I love how confidently you're showing off your breast. Also what was that rocking horse like machine supposed to do? I'm 99% sure if someone pit me on it as a grown-up I'd as well fall asleep 🙈
hahaha yes!! it's supposed to be a nice place for them to lie safely on their tummies and kind of feel like they're on a person!!!
My daughter is almost 5 months and the sweet strange nicknames never end mine is love muffin lol

My baby is a month old, and our sleeping schedule is so messed up still. I hope we get to a more normal schedule like you guys in the next month. She likes to cluster feed at night/ the evening, so we usually don’t go to sleep until 10pm or 12am, then don’t wake up for the day until noon, and sometimes I still need another hour sleep. It doesn’t help that my husband and I need a lot of sleep, then it always takes some time to fall asleep after feeds, so we need to have an even longer sleep window for ourselves.
Thats very normal and will even out as your baby gets older. Keep naps to under 2 hours during the day and try to get her out as much as you can during daylight hours so her internal clock can reset to a 7pm to 7am schedule as she gets closer to 3 months

Wow.. I'm 31 weeks. Just realized I'm gonna be pretty busy.. This is my 3rd pregnancy but, my daughter is 19 and my son is 14 years old so it's been a while. Just realized I probably wont be able to lay down all day doing nothing. I don't work. So I usually spend most of my time on my phone watching UA-cam videos. I probably wont have time for that the first 3 months 🤦♀️ My whole life is changing in 2 months 😳 Mabe after 3 months I'd be able to squeeze some time on my phone but, not as much as I'm doing now with no baby🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️.. I think it's worth it though since I'm almost 40
I found in the early months i was on my phone more than ever before but as baby gets bigger life gets busier. With nursing a newborn there is a lot of time pinned down under a baby. But yes if you spend all your time on your phone now it will certainly be a big change. There will be a real life in you life.
