I’m in awe of people who choose to share what is one of, if not the, most important, special parts of their lives with the world. I love the way you talk about your labour and delivery and I’m so happy that the nurse listened when you expressed concerns about going home. Congrats guys! ❤️🇦🇺
With all the real and mostly negative things out there surrounding epidurals and birth it was really refreshing to see such a positive experience and see that it can happen.
I would have went off about the Dr. even mentioning her prior engagements with you during labor. My Dr. told me today at my appointment that I needed to be induced at 38 weeks (1 week away) and she told me she would make sure that she’s there for me
I don't understand how it helps to tell the birthing mother that she inconveniently stole you from your "Jaz night". Saying stuff like that is obviously going to make her feel bad. I think it's unprofessional.
Lucie - I’m only 7 minutes into your video and laughing…I used the same contraction timer and didn’t follow the instructions to go to the hospital…when I did decide to go I was already 10cm and almost gave birth in the hallway to the delivery room LOL!!!! Loving this content and that you filmed it for yourself to look back on!
Congratulations Lucie! ❤️ As an OB nurse anesthesiologist it's always great to hear positive experiences broadcast on such a platform. Your little boy is the cutest! 💙
You are such a good storyteller. If I give birth someday I definitely want an epidural so I can be present instead of being in survival mode from the pain. Congrats!!
Awww, my goodness…and he’s perfect. Thank you for sharing. I’m 37 weeks and I believe my boy is coming out sooner than 40 weeks and I’ve been a little concerned bout it. But I believe he’ll be just as perfect.🤍
Congrats! Seeing this ans remembering 3 months ago i had our daughter makes me emotional! and now I finally posted my very own “to our daughter” on yt! Enjoy this special time with your newborn💛
I'm having HORRIBLE period cramps and watching these birth vlogs has somehow made them so much...it's like my body is trying to mimmic my labor pains again. lol!! Congratulations on your baby!!
My mom never got an epidural for either birth because she progressed so fast that they either never got started with it or had to stop partway through so she could push. She literally went from a 1 to a 10 in 30 minutes at 33 weeks with me. I was so preemie that nobody believed she was in labor until she started pushing and her doctor missed the birth because he thought he had time to cross the River for a conference. It made me so happy to hear that your doctor was willing to trust you enough to show up when you were a 3 and to commit to stay there until you delivered. How cool!!! So happy for you and your family.
Your video of telling your twin that your pregnant popped up and o watched and then I looked and it was posted 9 months ago. I looked so quick to see if the baby had been born. Congrats I'm so happy for you guys
I’m 23 weeks 5 days pregnant and watching all these vlogs is so helpful to know what’s going to happen when I deliver. That’s one of my fears is that my OB won’t be able to get there in time because she is like an hour away from where I’ll be delivering. Her main office is an hour away. I can’t wait to meet my baby girl though. 😊 so happy that you had a positive experience!!
When I saw you post this experience I raced to the computer, I gave birth to my second child 6 months ago,. Congratulations, I can’t wait for you to be a mother!
I'm always amazed when I hear other women talk about contractions lasting for hours sometimes more than a day. With my older daughter (she's 22 now), I had a lovely dinner of oxtail and rice & peas from the Jamaican restaurant across from our complex. Started feeling contractions maybe an hour after if that long, had to call her dad to come home from work and headed straight to the hospital, swore I was going to give birth on the highway, the pressure & urge to push was so strong. Got to the hospital, threw up the lovely meal, wasn't able to get an epi because labour progressed so quickly. they did give me some meds so I was able to rest for maybe an hour without pain. From 1st contraction to delivery was maybe 5 hours. She was born 1:07 am 01.07.00; on her due date. My ob/gyn had also said at my visit on the 6th that it may be another week or 2. I'm always amazed by the women that go through long labour because I remember all these years later that I was EXHAUSTED!!
It's good that you were able to go into labour naturally and didn't have to get induced. Everyone I know who was induced had a horrible experience. Also good thing you listened to your instincts and didn't go home when the hospital told you to!
Thank you for being so open and real about your pregnancy and birth process. I didn't find you till the end of your pregnancy. But I have learned so much already!
I found out after sooo long of TTC, I found out I'm pregnant! I am not sure the gestational age yet, but I think 5 weeks, 1 day. I've been looking at videos on the internet and found the video of you telling your twin you're pregnant! Now I see this posted I'm gonna watch it while I bawl my eyes out. (hormones...) Such a beautiful thing! I'm gonna subscribe now too!
I’ve been told that i’m gonna have my baby by 3nov (37th week of my pregnancy) because my blood pressure is elevated and the baby is almost 5.5 pounds. I was scared but now I saw your vlog and it feels much better to know that it’s normal to have a term baby. I just need so many prayers for a healthy baby!!❤️❤️
Congrats Lucie! I have been watching you since 2015 and I feel like I know you... I was so stressed during this video.. I knew that you and the little one were fine but to watch how were actually happening made me cry. I am glad that everything went fine, I hope all the best for all 3 of you! Love from Greece 💙
It’s amazing your specific doctor was able to come in for you. I live in Chicago so it’s a huge hospital network and I see the same doctor for all my appts but she said there’s a good chance she won’t be there for the birth and it may even be a doctor I’ve never met 😩but it’s in the top 20 hospitals in the nation so hoping for the best lol
Omg I had the SAME exact experience with my epidural! I was 3cm dilated, got the epidural and bam, 2 hours later I was dilated to a 10 and multiple nurses came to check to confirm because they were so shocked I progressed that quickly. My husband thought we were going to have 10 hours of hanging out calmly at the hospital but the look on his face after being told it was time for me to push after 2 hours was priceless! 😆
I progressed really fast after getting my epidural as well I thought I'd be in labor for 20+ hours and I was induced at 8am had my epidural at noon and had the baby at 3.
For the other first time mommas (I’m pregnant with my third), a big reason why she probably got so tired so early on in labor is because she was super hyper-focused on every sensation which does wear out a person mentally + physically. It’s best to ignore it as long as possible until the pain is not ignorable. I know it’s easier said than done when it’s your first pregnancy and it’s all unknown. 💓
I’m 35 and a half weeks today and watching the end of your video had me tearing up! I can’t wait to meet our little guy. I’ve been getting really hardcore muscle contractions this last week and I’m just thinking of these are practice contractions, I’m screwed 😅😅😅
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 I'm 37 weeks today and set to induce in 4 days but I'm 2 centimeters and 70 percent effaced and have Been gor about 2 months. Each pregnancy is so unique ❤
I’m 37 weeks currently. I was certain I was going into labor this morning. But I think It’s just Braxton hicks mixed with stomach pain from the latest bug my children got from school. Either way I’m excited, because I’m almost there. Definitely will be sharing my journey on UA-cam as well.
Congrats!! It’s a little bit sad that the ‘pushing part’ still looks like this in USA. It doesn’t have to! The ‘pushing hard’ might not be necessary at all, and the position itself definitely can be different than laying on your back with legs wide open… For any girls reading this, with their labor upcoming shortly, try to find more info about delivering a baby in more natural, self-driven (and baby-driven) way :)
I’ve been doing a hupnobirthing course to calm my anxiety about birth and honestly it sounds like this and I already feel so much calmer. Apparently our bodies have a “feral ejection reflex” like when we throw up it just happens we don’t have to do much. I’m actually excited for labor haha
@@giginoelani5880not to plan what do ever 😅😅 I wanted to stay at home as long as possible, I started bleeding at 3am and had to go straight into hospital ended up getting the epidural at 7cm which was the thing I was more scared about than actually having him 😂 and then the little bugger got stuck and we had to have an episiotomy and forceps and he was sunny side up which is why it was so painful they said. It’s so funny that I’m watching this. I’m 37 weeks and 2 days. I’ve been having pelvic and back pressure for the past 2-3 days. Aannnndd I’ve been losing my mucus plug in parts since last night. I have an appointment in 2 days and I’m feeling super anxious 😬.

OMG this was me with epidural. Haha it was done in the middle of a contraction but by the time it was done and all good and in, I was 9.5 cm 😂🤣 So it was a big and painful one! It was all so fast once water was gone! Had SD but it all ended well for us as well. This is a great birthing experience cause don't get me started on my first, it was awful. So thankful my kids are well today.
