- This is not max speed testing .but a comparison .
Based on me, being the archer, and my 26 inch draw, using the same grains per pound arrow for each bow.
Want faster ? Be taller than me ,with longer arms, and use lighter grain per pound arrows .
I am surprised , I was expecting there to be a difference between the two,
there is, but its very small .
Now, am going to do all the 45@28 bows I own ( filmed them right away cause I needed to know )
so multiple videos will be up loaded over time . (5 at moment )
so stay tuned . more surprises .
cheers and keep having fun .
ps ,both of these are kijiij finds , i got them second hand .

My Super Mag is the one bow I would keep if I could only keep one bow. It is a great ground blind bow and better yet the only bow I can shoot sitting with my butt on the ground and back against a tree. I have a 52” Kodiak Magnum that’s almost as good but that 4” really does make a difference in maneuverability. If I had four thumbs… I would have them all up four the Super Mag.
Before I watch you shoot, I will predict that the Bear has slight higher velocities due to the lower brace height, resulting in slightly more travel and time for acceleration of the arrow.
I am reasonably consistent with these bows . Which surprises me as much as how close the bows are in this test .
The variation is with in margin of error . I used a different chronograph at 17 wing club .
Got very similar results.
I know results will vary with other shooters .
But I had fun testing all my 45@28 ( aprox 41 on my fingers) bows after this .
With the same arrow.
it was not a big difference till I used the one compound I own .
Why not the 52 inch bear vs 52 checkmate Raven.
Well mostly cause these are the ones I was lucky enough to find on Kijiji used for very good prices .they happen to be rated for same draw weight .
My wife ,the love of my life .
Doesn't know exactly how many bows I own in my collection .
Yet she does know there are enough for a really good bonfire if I drop dead .
So I have stopped ( or slowed to a crawl more like it ) my additional purchases of bows .
Think the corny old phrase
Happy wife happy life .
And if I do drop dead my collection might just be a fire sale instead of fire wood .
Cheers
Awesome video!
Youre like the alton brown of archery.
Not sure I would agree .
Alton actually knows his subject .FOOD .
I'm just surprising myself as I experiment .
Thank you for the Vid. :)
The only difference I think you would see would be the efficiency of the limbs. And that may be too small to measure without a more precise set up and the removable of the slight variations in your release and draw length.
Either go to chronograph playlist
Or wait for when I publicly post the slick stick . I happen to own one rated 45@28 like these.
It's unlisted but available though playlist .
It will surprise you .
That and a bow from 1966 .
Also.
Nice video, helps to past time.
Take care my fellow citizen.
Kinda yes .
After this one and the surprise it gave me . I did 4 more bows .
They are all uploaded .
And in chronograph playlist .
They are technically unlisted .
And I will be publicly posting them over next week or so .
I am very surprised by results .
And not surprised ,cause I am the Archer, n key variable in this whole infotainment experiment.
Still .it's about the fun .
You spent all that money on bows but your house is made of canvas?! I'll bet that the door doesn't even work.
Well. Since I bought both those bows used .( Barely used great shape) and paid way less than just one of them would retail for .
I'm saving money all way around .
;)
🤣
They are very near the same, not bad I would have thought the mag to be a we bit more so then the other but they were pretty darn close thanks for sharing take care.🏹👍🏼
I kinda though the 48 would be snappier too .
I tried a 7.5 grain per pound arrow . Jumped 25 fps . But the hand shock was
Painful on my hurt elbow .
I figured out that was what was agrivating my elbow .
Hand shock . If I use heavier arrows and the better made bows.
( No more plastic et4 shooting )
I can shoot a hundred arrows before I notice my elbow bothering me . If I stay around 60 to 70 a day I'm good .
I was so surprised
I pulled down 4 other bows
That are 45@28 .
And tested them all .
Will be posting them publicly every few days .
But if you go to the chronograph play list they are linked there .
k m archery. Yes sir I know what you mean some of my fiberglass bows make my teeth chador, and yes after 40 or 50 my elbow starts to ache but I just keep shooting.
k m archery. Ok I’ll be checking it out thank you sir and stay safe.👍🏼🏹
