Thanks much! I'm six months into archery. I was using one of those cheap stick on magnetic arrow rests. (I've switched to the shelf since) Occasionally the arrow would jump off at the very beginning of the pull. For context, three under and two brass string nocks. I had thought my grip was too high and that was somehow causing the arrow to fall. An overly tense draw hand as you describe makes a lot more sense. This typically happens nearing the end of a target session, I'm tired and losing my focus on details. This also explains why my very first shot is usually spot on. I'm as relaxed as possible. Accuracy holds for a while and then begins to drop off.
My arms and shoulders are usually complaining by the end, but I hadn't considered my hand, I guess because it doesn't complain like my arms and shoulders. Again, thank you kindly.

Hello! can you talk about strong bow arm release next. I found out Korean beginner archers even start with a strongly gripped bow just to emulate a strong and stable followthrough, and then later introduce the swing while still upholding the strong grip. After all that finally they move to the standard relaxed grip followthrough.

Nice example with the 70kg dumbbell, which is 154# btw. 😂
But it's truth, that the grip in the sting must done easy and relaxed.
And everyone who can hang with one hand on a bar shoul have enough strength.

Yes!! Get on it. Tom Hall from UK didn't start until he was at university. You'll get put of it what you put in. Get a coach. Get advice. Shoot a lot. Eat well, sleep well. Stay light on the draw weight until you've learnt to shoot with proper form. No matter what anyone says. Shoot well. Dare to dream!
