So glad you decided to get these animals, friend! You’re gonna do amazing with them! I’m telling you right now, vampire crabs are the next big thing! They are fascinating to observe, very easy to keep and breed in captivity and do so well in a similar terrarium you would keep a poison frog in, except with a 75% land to 25% water feature. So so neat!

@@PeppersnGlowwormsif you keep a pair together, within a few months the female will be holding eggs that she carries until they develop into baby crabs and will release them into the water as fully formed crabs (most crabs have free floating larval stages)
Tanner is so humble but everything he touches is a masterpiece. This one is super dope as well! not everyone can build a 97ft paladarium so i like seeing these options as well! ty!
Very interesting little guys. Now you’ve got my grandson wanting vampire crabs! I have the feeling as he gets older (he’s three) that Grammies house is where he’s going to keep all the pets his mama won’t let in the house. Like jumping spiders and vampire crabs and other assorted oddities. Thanks for making this channel so kid friendly and educational. My grandson loves his “spider lady”.
I saw some small Japanese crabs at a reptile expo and I really wanted them, I love crabs, but after hearing that they only live for 2-3 years and that they require a filter, I changed my mind. I was surprised to see that you didn't get a filter for your little crabs. I totally would have preferred scooping water out and adding in new water than having to deal with filters.
Sometimes for smaller set ups I feel like manual water changes is just easier for me .. but if you don’t wanna do that a filter is a better option for sure

So adorable! They really act like little water spiders. Have you thought of securing any of the wood leading out of the water? I would fear it randomly slipping and the poor things being unable to leave.

Now, to have a "complete collection" you should get Halloween crabs.
I had them FOREVER ago and I don’t think I’d get them again .. actually planning on making a video talking about 5 inverts I probably wouldn’t get again tbh they’re on the list lol

Congratulations! Vampire crabs are fun. Because your water feature is still and not creating a spray, you will have to mist the enclosure very often. I might advise adding a small shallow water dish on the other side of the enclosure. Vampire crabs need to drink often or they will dehydrate.
Nuthin like working out at the gym while listenin to T. Kat's soothing instructional voice.
Now you have land AND water spiders!
You should get the other spooky crab next, the Halloween moon crab!

Kat, stop!!! Now I want vampire crabs!!!! First it was jumping spiders, and I now have 15 wc, then it was wolf spiders and now I have two, then it was tarantulas and I only have three! And it’s all your fault! ❤❤❤❤❤
heck ya crabs, oh and kat telling male and female crabs apart is easy, you flip them over and look at the under side of the shell if it forms a point like a light house it's male if it's rounded like a rock it's female, it'll make sense when you see it.
I've thought about adding crabs to my tiger salamanders habitat. I'm afraid Fred and Willima would eat them .
I had vampire crabs 10+ years ago. Very cool critters. Nice to see the popularity growing with them again.

Vampire crabs are such an amazing animal, I was so hyped when Serpa Design, and Reptiliatus got them, it's awesome seeing you get some.
I loved this so much. They kinda remind me of the Halloween crab I had in elementary school. I got him from this guy who came and showed different animals at our school, he had a male and female and the male was getting bullied, I was super interested in them and my mom let me get him. One day I wanna have crabs again... They're so neat.
Crabs are pretty cool. Back when I had fish tanks, I had fiddlers, and they were so entertaining to watch.

Kat if I can make a suggestion to you, you should put larger size fish in tank gravel around the pool area for the crabs so Its less of a mess getting in and out of the pool for them and you😊

That's such a cool pet. Love that you're using ideas from different keepers from the most engineering level Tanner version (i watched that and couldn't get my jaw off the ground) to Dayyan's version to create your own in a TC enclosure no less!!! ❤❤❤ Love the Tupperware pond too. Would isopods be another possible addition to the ecosystem? Now im inspired!
