You should get a larger secondary box that you put the centipede container in before you open it. That way if either the roach or the centipede get out, they are still stuck in the second box

I felt like crap today and I was literally crying uncontrollably but then began to laugh when that centipede escaped and got into the gap underneath, thank you for making me laugh, I hope you caught it!

I have no problem with most insects walking on me... But cockroaches? NO WAY. Also I wouldn't touch a centipede with a 25 miles rod. Those things are horribly scary (although I do like taking pictures of them when I find some haha)

Underneath the shelf is a flat veneer. It's just a panel, remove it and you will be able to see under..
After you fix find your centipede and fix the shelf, put more silicone on the bottom to seal the gaps
BTW, I ate last night's dinner leftovers as lunch today.

He can probably remove them but its massive and the angles he can’t reach are just so much + you know its a baby centipede so it can be anywhere down there and it being so small it would be really hard to just find it

TRAP ADVICE.. leave moss piles on the floor near any gaps, hopefully providing a preferable place will encourage it out in time....

Just maybe put the cup into an empty aquarium/container just for shooting purposes. About 20cm tall would do since both the predator and its prey could not possibly escaped.

Also don't walk barefoot in the room until you're sure where the centipede went. You don't want it thinking your big toe is a roach!!!

@@mctron22rd If the tarantula is newly-molted (aka....soft), they can. Crickets are more prone to doing this, though. If the tarantula is healthy and not newly-molted, roaches and crickets don't stand a chance.
Hello! This video reminds me of the time many students and my friends keep on seeing those black centipedes, I am pretty happy that those centipedes I saw isnt like those centipedes if it was it was gonna be danger.

I love exotic lair, his videos are so interesting, he puts lots of enthusiasm into his work and you learn things along the way, I find it funny when he’d be talking about a tarantula then get distracted by telling us not to mind his foot or plate or something that are in the shot, then go back to the tarantulas. Tarantulas are one of my favourite animals so it’s good to see the care he takes and the nice enclosures he makes 😁

Exactly. I’d be changing my entire procedure effective NOW. First off by putting those containers inside a much larger container before even thinking about opening the lid.
Except that, this is what he wants to happen. He wants things to go wrong for the videos. He wants a centepede to escape because he knows he can catch it later but it makes for an exciting video. Otherwise he would have started with a plan in the first place. It's the same thing about the video with him catching the tarantula slings. He's doing it on purpose.

Love your vids brother.. but for real, to avoid this, I think you should get a small tripod for your phone so you can use both hands, and move the cam as needed if necessary without it being too clumsy. I promise it would help you a ton. Glad you didn't get bit. lol. Take care.

@@HiritoKaitsu Why do I fear spiders? Because when I was really young a toy of mine went under a desk and when I went under to get it, a spider came at me in the threat posture. Been terrified of them ever since. I was like 6 years old when it happened.

I would recommend you to place the centipede container inside a bigger
/ taller plastic container when you are feeding them. Cause just placing the main centipede container on the table..... they will likely run out just like what happened to that specific one.
Or just feed it with the lid on. It's transparent anyways.

Moving to new enclosures to feed can be stressful on the animal. Plus centipedes are venomous, so you do have bite risks
@@White_wolf0789 think they meant get an empty bigger container that's not scaleable place the whole smaller one inside it with the centipede and then open the lid - it's still in original enclosure just with a perspex box around it so if they bolt they can't get far
@@White_wolf0789 No. That's not what they suggested. They mean put their current enclosure in a bigger empty box or enclosure during feeding time. Not move them to the bigger enclosure altogether. So that if they escape, they're just in another box. Pretty simple.
