Car carrier Tv yes sir thanks for the reply I just want to make extra money with my truck any money couple hundreds here and there I’ll be fine I just want to get out there and use my truck
I completely understand that but you might be better suited getting a dump trailer and hauling mulch and things like that if your just trying to do it from time to time. The reason I say that is you’ll have to get a mc and dot numbers and do your quarterly filings insurance to have your own authority is gonna run you $1200-$2000 a month. Then plates will run you $1000 a year plus fuel in your truck and your gonna be pulling cars for $150-$500 most of the time and that $500 unit is gonna be a 600mile at best run most likely 1000+ mile one way. So take $200 out for fuel $25 out for road taxes another $100-$150 in wear and tear on your equipment and your left with $100 or less now you have to make your insurance payment and pay yourself with that and you see how it becomes very unprofitable very quick for just 1 car

Just curious if you had your own authority why would you not put a driver on your truck instead of becoming a company driver. Also how many trucks did you have or just one. And finally after fuel and insurance as a owner operator how much were you making a month working steady to hard. I was an owner operator for about 14 years in Canada it was good until our new owners out of Kansas ie YRC destroyed our business and customer base which killed our reputation and ability to get good freight. @@CarcarrierTv Last question sir. How many Dulles can you haul on a trailer? I've only seen on video that loaded it on bottom as the last vehicle. To add to this, have you hauled only pickups before?
Depends if your buying new or used. If buying new always buy a Pete they hold their value for car haulers the best if used look western star frieghtliner because they’ll be the cheapest. As for a 9 car if used look for a high rail don’t buy the 75ft quick loader you’ll end up hauling 8 a lot of the time. Now I’d buy a quick loader if you can get a 80ft rig and as for those the only experience I have is with cottrell 80ft equipment hopefully someone else will comment on how the lohr or boydstun equipment is
I hauled cars for 20 years. Started with a boydsden and at my peak i had three trucks rolling. Carter built head racks over a pete in front of the C12 Catrell traitors. I loved that gig very much but like all good things must come to an end so did that..
I can’t say for certain on that for here at United road but I will say you should know how to drive standard because we still have to load standard vehicles from time to time. And as for the Pete thing they’re like all other brands you can get them anyway you order them
Things that suck about being a car hauler: Vehicles that don't start Nothing like having a vehicle in 2 spot (1 spot is directly over truck cab, 2 is first car behind it) Or 3 spot (1st position on hauler trailer) Once had to have 2 other car haulers push me down from a trailer from the 2 spot while I steered in neutral.

We always loaded up about 10-15 cars dropped off parking lots. Brand new K-5 blazers,Buick lesabres,Suburbans took out fuel tanks and batteries and ran them through shredders and crushers.Plant security front and back. No parts taken off. Broke my heart.Maybe nothing more than big crease in hoods,roofs.0 miles. I’m retired or I’d go reliable,Pilot,Interstate,Passport transport. Beautiful equipment. Enclosed.

@@CarcarrierTv Sorry, Kentucky Truck Plant. Anyways, do you take only full loads from a Plant, or have you taken only a few to dealers?
No most loads these days are 2-4 drops just because they are only producing ordered units at most plants right now
@@CarcarrierTv Last question sir. How many Dulles can you haul on a trailer? I've only seen on video that loaded it on bottom as the last vehicle. To add to this, have you hauled only pickups before?
For me it’s 2 I’ll put 2 on the top of my quick loader and that’s it. You could put a 3rd behind the cab on top but I won’t
What the best truck and trailer for 9 cars to buy could do gave me advise please
It’s sad that it ended but so did my venture in owning my own trucks and I can say I don’t miss it
Nice video, saludos from Mexicali, Mexico
Good advice, man.
Do you need to have a automatic or manual cdl class A license to do that ? Because i think peterbilts are manual
I can’t say for certain on that for here at United road but I will say you should know how to drive standard because we still have to load standard vehicles from time to time. And as for the Pete thing they’re like all other brands you can get them anyway you order them
Things that suck about being a car hauler: Vehicles that don't start
Nothing like having a vehicle in 2 spot (1 spot is directly over truck cab, 2 is first car behind it)
Or 3 spot (1st position on hauler trailer)
Once had to have 2 other car haulers push me down from a trailer from the 2 spot while I steered in neutral.
Lol so true been there done that
I feel your pain brother i deliver alot of used cars for wholesale auctions and there's nothing worse than having to spend time jumping a hoopty in 0 degree weather
@@200blockwildboy Damn I forget about that harsh weather sometimes. That's gotta be a bitch! I'm not hauling cars right now but sometimes if I know I'm gonna make a delivery before the cut off time, I'd leave some of those riskier cars running long as the distance wasn't too long.
In the meantime he's driving as a car hauler. You have to ask yourself why is he trying to scare you away from the job. It's because it's all worth the hassle.
The funny part is this video is a 2 part video first part is why not to be a car hauler and has 1000s of views part two of why to be a car hauler has like 400 🤷♂️
@@CarcarrierTv , I saw that after. Lol
When he passes your hometown on the interstate!
How can you tell hes been alone for a while?
He's talking to a camera!
Facts
Everyone wants to be a car hauler but nobody wants to do the work.
Lol I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s a awesome profession just too many lazy ppl in it.
I love it!!
Lol dose the name united ring a bell?
Lol,,I work for that same name!! 🤫🤭
I retired after 37 years in everything but parking lots. Heavy wreckers and put a lot of cars back on ramps or rolling them back over.Get in some scary situations. Enclosed.
Yea I’ve been hauling cars for 13 years now I’ll be starting my 14th year here in January. I love it always have but me and my wife have talked about running enclosed for pilot once our kids move out and just travel the country for a year or so. But as for now I do my best to try to keep on the same type of run because it keeps you with a pretty reliable paycheck.
Good job saying that I would like to add 1 to the list. 😵💫 dispatchers 🤦 and when they sent me or anyone to the north west corner of the United States city name Federal Way if you work for URS you know you're going to be there.I will say Kelly awesome she was regional I was OTR but she would always do what she could to get me out of there .
Most people can easily make $2500 to $3,000 a week just by doing the dryvan . I never understand the inclination that drives people to those type of jobs. Human being are strange creatures
5000 a week is what drives me
Can you tell me what company driver company is paying $2500 to $3000 a week that's not a Chicago Scammer please. Thank you
@@dragodrago7370 how much is URS paying every 2 weeks on average please
I make on average about 3400-4000 most paychecks and 1200-1600 most monthly bonuses
Hey that’s why I said you have to look at this like a career not a job. This isn’t something you pick up in one day. But you were making at least $1150 a week that’s United’s minimum unless you weren’t willing to work a full week. This isn’t a job for everyone not everyone is cut out to be a car hauler
When cars get fucking damaged that sucks the most
Smyrna Nissan plant is one of the worst
Yess it is... go Into to prebay to load then drive around to go too the outback
U should show more lodging up your vehicle
Sound terrible… can’t wait to start! 😂
lol it really isn’t bad at all
@@CarcarrierTv 😂 I’m serious! I got hired right out of school to a small carrier, I find out if the insurance will accept me on Monday. 🤞 I haven’t had a ticket in over 7 years. But the owner said he is willing to train me and teach me about the business.
That’s awesome I’m glad to hear that. What area are they out of? I hope insurance will take you because truly you’d be starting in the best part of the trucking industry in my opinion
@@CarcarrierTv their out of Virginia, running dedicated from Va to Ga with weekends off.
That’s a good run I’m guessing 2 loads down and 2 back up?
Bro get a hoverboard... or some Heelys.
a car hauler telling us not to be a car hauler while he still being a car hauler 😑😑😑😑😑😑
Not to not be a car hauler just explaining the not so fun side.
I cant believe anyone would do this
Engine too loud. Need some noise cancelling microphone
Thats why I dispatch my own trucks .
Sheyit I’m tired already just listening to the hassles.
Where were you 32 yrs ago lol
😂😂😂😂 well I was learning to color between the lines 32 years ago and I’m pretty sure United road wasn’t even a concept yet lol. Jk
Oh yeah, weight. 2000lbs over on a straight load of 9 kia or Hyundai sedans 2014. Wtf?
you need to jog alooot
i lost 15 lbs in 2 months from running from a manheim parking back to truck daily many many times.
Especially the manhiem in Nashville
😂😂😂😂
@@brandonvinson9426 hell, all of them!!
Don't run over your hooks, because over time this can crack your deck.
Just buy a electric scooter for the walking 🛴
But for 15000 $ per month it's OK
No 😏
Owner operator? Or company driver make that much
That’s way too low for owner op you can do $30,000 a month pretty easily as an owner op
15 grand a month is taking it easy or lazy. Whatever you wanna call it. If you're an O/O hauling cars 25 to 30k should be the minimum 😂
@@DONTCALLMETHAT Is that before or after taxes?
♥Car carrier Tv
Walking Easy solution - get an electric scooter
I seen a guy use one but they told him he couldn't because of possible damaging a car putting that scooter in and out that car
Roland Roy get a nice foldable one. Goes right on the floor in the passenger side. I do this all the time when I gotta grab cars . Never an issue
@@rolandroy6885 Auctions will not let you ride anything on the lot, you must walk, once in awhile I have seen a young fella ride a skate board.
at least your making money you should try running your own towing business under your own authority dealing with stupid people dot and progressive who dont want to pay for a tow because they are broke using a 1 or 2 car wrecker for 50 to 65 per job
im saving up for a 10 car hauler i dont want to spend 50k on a hot shot rig for half the return i can make with a 10 car rig
I don’t blame you one bit. I ran my own authority for 11 years. If your looking I have my 07 WS up for sale.
@@CarcarrierTv how much
$40k
Trucking especially long haul SUCKS buddy , its a shitty type of job . Dry van , flat bed , hauling cars or tanker . ALL SUCKS lol
I wouldn’t say it all sucks I personally love hauling cars and I do like the long haul I just don’t like being away from my family. Honestly if my kids were moved out I wouldn’t have a problem if me and my wife rolled out 1-2 weeks at a time or even sold everything and took a year or two to pile some money away traveling the country. But you have to find the right fit for you.
Yeah manhiem New Jersey name names go ahead
And why are you hauling cars?
Because I love this industry
Ive been a a hauler for 20 yrs and ive seen the fattest people run a hauler
I have seen some people that I wonder how they climb in and out the cars on some of these trailers. I’m not huge but I’m stocky and sometimes I struggle lol
UA-cam should have a laughing emoji 🤦😂
Im right at 400lbs have no problem.
If car hauler sucks that much, why you still driving it 😆….great job on keeping the competition away…😉….just messing with you brother
Lol it really doesn’t suck but that’s the only things I could think that kinda suck lol
Go and sell potatoes if you don't like it, and stop posting nonsense. If you don't like a job it doesn't mean others will not like it or handle it.
