I absolutely love how excited and overwhelmed he is. He truly appreciates what he's been given and isn't afraid to show it in front of thousands of people. Him bouncing and his smile was just so infectious. I could practically feel what he was feeling up there. This couldn't have happened to a better guy too. I was so happy to hear that he won. He's a wonderful actor, but more importantly he's a wonderful person.
The spontaneity of his reaction is a testament to his genuineness. Winning against people as talented as Benedict Cumberbatch and Steve Carrel is a huge thing...
Yes i think so too. He should have won for Danish girl. Just so that Michael Keaton should have won for Birdman. Groundbreaking role. Also Leonardo DiCaprio should have won years ago for What's eating Gilbert Grape.
Am I the only one who thought that both the imitation game and the theory of everything deserved that Oscar? I mean damn Benbatch Cumberdict truly deserved this but so did Eddie Redmayne!

Eddie Redmayne irrefutably deserve this oscar. He was best for that role ,the way he walked, speaked, smiled in that movie was so perfect and absolutely difficult ..He is truly a legend ..
@@droogs8826 brokeback mountain is all he has I'm afraid. Just like his costar randy Quaid (the last detail) you only get one shot. Heath won. Anne won. Eventually Michelle will win. It's not for Jacob to have just like his mother (running on empty). Maybe Maggie Maybe Stephen. Maybe.
This is probably the most real and honest reaction and acceptance speech I've ever seen. Winners are usually so subdued and put together so it's nice to see his excitement show
SAG and BAFTA were also pretty good clues, too. Once Eddie won those, I emotionally invested myself in his eventual Oscar victory, which is cool. Still though, Keaton's performance was better and more difficult not just because of the fact that his character was fictional (the only one of the nominees) and thus no audio or video with which to work off of (which means it's almost impossible NOT to borrow from yourself to make the character real), but also he had to juggle the script that was to be shot the way it was, and he had to coordinate with the camera's movement more than the rest of the actors had to in Birdman. Plus, Birdman being a better film doesn't hurt.
Charles Toledo As with all opinions, that's debatable. Me personally, Eddie isn't even in the top 10 of my favorite male lead performances of 2014. Neither is Cooper. And Carell is in my male supporting list because, let's face it, he's a *supporting* character in Foxcatcher alongside Ruffalo, while Tatum is the true lead. Keaton and Cumberbatch, on the other hand, *are* in my top 10.
first i thought: how can benedict not win this, i mean i have seen the imitation game and its the best acting ive ever seen. but than when i saw eddie i was just forgot all of that, hes so happy xD
I think Benedict Cumberbatch did such a great job with The Imitiation Game, seen it thousands of times, it's amazing. But after seeing The Theory of Everything I loved Eddie.
One of the best performances ever on film. Re-watch the scene where he's sees the pencil drop and imagines standing up and picking it and then snaps back into reality, having to answer a question about a god and the universe. His facial reactions in that 30 seconds is incredible.
This was probably the most stacked Oscar ballad in a long time, maybe even ever. All 5 of these performances were phenomenal, and it honestly could've went any direction.
Hayden Silbermann I know. What a stupid thing to say. Sometimes, it's better to just be serious than make a lame joke on National Television where everyone judges you for your mistake.

I love the friendship between him and Felicity, they worked together before too and they seem to get on really well
It is on the bottom left corner
How the hell!? Yeah.. Thats it 😂😂
haha best moment ever
They are full on making out.. They were waiting the whole night and finally that was their moment.
ONE OF THE MOST DOWN TO EARTH PERSON I'VE SEEN
A Hufflepuff through and through, I should know
Mamasita
I absolutely love how excited and overwhelmed he is. He truly appreciates what he's been given and isn't afraid to show it in front of thousands of people. Him bouncing and his smile was just so infectious. I could practically feel what he was feeling up there. This couldn't have happened to a better guy too. I was so happy to hear that he won. He's a wonderful actor, but more importantly he's a wonderful person.
The spontaneity of his reaction is a testament to his genuineness. Winning against people as talented as Benedict Cumberbatch and Steve Carrel is a huge thing...
RIP Stephen Hawking. There will never be another like you.
He is the fantasy version
Oh did he die?
@@goldenb2395 yep don't you know ???
@@darutor1666 no he didnt he is from mars...
@INTERNETWORK hahahhahh true
He should also have won for "the danish girl", excellent performance there!
Yes i think so too. He should have won for Danish girl. Just so that Michael Keaton should have won for Birdman. Groundbreaking role. Also Leonardo DiCaprio should have won years ago for What's eating Gilbert Grape.
@Tom Reedy if Eddie won for the Danish girl then leo would not have won his Oscar, that's why
@@Dr.SyedSaifAbbasNaqvi leo deserved it twice before..
In movies like wolf and others
Yah. Danish girl launched in the wrong time😂😂
no, leo better in the revenant
Okey Dokey Smokey
😂
QUEEN CATE ❤❤❤😂😂
Don Enchilada that was honestly so random and unexpected but I loved it😂😂😂😂
Cheerio Kanker Sisterio
Cate's lovely humour, and I like the honest way of hugging Eddie and how just she was listening to his speech. :)
And this is how Oscar winner’s name should be announced 🥰
Exactly, quick and painless
Fact that she has many Oscar's thats why she didn't get overwhelmed by excitement like others , straight forward
Am I the only one who thought that both the imitation game and the theory of everything deserved that Oscar? I mean damn Benbatch Cumberdict truly deserved this but so did Eddie Redmayne!
unfortunately there could only be one. it's amazing when we get so many good movies one year where it's really hard to tell who will win but it also sucks when we can't award them all
@@AW-ex8fn In fact, two people can win an Oscar. It happens only rarely (only one times for Best Actress, if I remember well).
This should have been a time when both won.
Yeah. I agree with you. Ben was just absolutely amazing as Alan Turing.
Well I think that Bradley cooper was amazing too in THE AMERICAN SNIPER!
Is it just me, or is Eddie incredibly pretty? A little jealous right now.. and not just because he looks better in red lipstick than I do.
He is, extremely.
He is just so happy, he won that. He deserves to win for Best Actor. Btw, I love Hamtaro on your icon.
He isn't wearing lipstick
+jamesasui In his new movie "The Danish Girl" he does..
not sure if you mean Eddie or Lely .
He looked genuinely surprised when they announced his name. He beat out some amazing performances, but he deserved it.
Hela, the Goddess of Death giving this award to Newt Scamander...
A Hufflepuff beat Gru, Rocket Raccoon, Batman or Vulture and Doctor Strange for this award...
And his movie wife was Jyn Erso...
Anyone who gets the references... MAJOR kudos to you!
Digilady99 Was it Hela or was it Galadriel? 🤔 And was his movie wife Jyn Erso or was it Harry Osborn’s secretary, Felicia?
Damn, Im a movie jerk 😂
I get them all!
Digilady99 I understand all of them!
Major Kudos to you making all those connection and references !
3:38 Cumberbatch feeling "blessed" just to be nominated...
more like hiding tears and pretending he's ok
He deserved it too
He is a good guy too actually.
True. I wish they both won. ❤
He deserved it too
I love how Cate Blanchett just shouted his name. I mean, it's a celebration for the victor, most announcers say the name as if they'll read their obituary next.
They worked together ahahahah
I love when he showed his genuine emotion-2:02. When he showed his true self, it makes me feel happy because he’s not a fake compared to most celebrities. He is so adorable. 🥰
spoken like a true hufflepuff ❤️
Yaa
Dark lord is planning to kill you with cruciatus curse ..😂😂
Layla Hernandez harry potter sucks and the fantastic beasts suck even more. Stop bringing bad fantasy into real world. ”Hufflepuffs” do not exist.
my house ♡
blake blurr let people enjoy things
1:15 Ansel looks like a proud dad
Oh god,i just realised that he was there😂😃 i love that moment❤
This is probably the most grateful acceptance speech I've ever seen
Too bad Michael Keaton didn't win for best actor...
Eddie redmayne is a bitch!
A warbling ugly befreckled GIT
Aaron Paul, bitches!
+Max Walker what makes you say that?
+Max Walker Answering every comment saying bad stuff about Eddie Redmayne geez your jealousy is having a field day...are you sure you're not leonardo dicaprio?
True story
He really was grateful and isn't that nice to see!! Seems like a genuinely good guy, happy he won.
I could watch this thousand times just to hear Cate Blanchett saying "Okidoki smokie"
Yeah I did too 😆😆😆
i love cate sm lmaoo
"Why is Eddie Redmayne your favorite actor?"
This. This is why.
Jennifer Barnett Amazing performances like Balem Abrasax. So beautiful :,)
watching Eddie receiving awards is the happiest part of my life
Marlene Kostka are you serious? Lmfao
well.. your life isn't that good dear lol
Marlene Kostka That's actually very tragic for you.
I'm late.. I just now saw The Theory of Everything. It seriously made me cry this young actor is soo good he well deserved this Oscar!
Sarah Molina me too! Just recently watched it! Damn, someone should of prepared me with tissues cuz I was balling my eyes out.
Just watched the movie today.Excellent film and he deserved that Oscar
Eddie Redmayne irrefutably deserve this oscar. He was best for that role ,the way he walked, speaked, smiled in that movie was so perfect and absolutely difficult ..He is truly a legend ..
I can't choose between him and Cumberbatch, they were both mind blowing in the imitation game and the theory of everything.
A girl Has no name I mean they gave The Imitation Game best picture- they had to really
It should have been a tie!
Steve Carrell is brilliant too!
Michael Keaton was better
I feel like Benedict Cumberbatch deserved this one but I can’t take it away from Eddie Redmayne
Both have should've gotten it
Benny did deserve to win but so did Mike and Steve.
It was oh so close!
I mean both were incredible. So I can't really choose between them.
And why wasn't jake nominated for nightcrawler
@@droogs8826 brokeback mountain is all he has I'm afraid. Just like his costar randy Quaid (the last detail) you only get one shot. Heath won. Anne won. Eventually Michelle will win. It's not for Jacob to have just like his mother (running on empty). Maybe Maggie Maybe Stephen. Maybe.
How in the world Bradley Cooper gets nominated every year.
We capricorns are the best, that's why
Bradley has the Academy in his pocket. Also, it would be too obvious if he actually won.
because he is a good actor?
Have you seen Silver Linings Playbook? He was pretty darn good
@@noxe6413 yes he is but still pretty good actors are out there who never get nominated
This is probably the most real and honest reaction and acceptance speech I've ever seen. Winners are usually so subdued and put together so it's nice to see his excitement show
2:00 most beautiful moment in the history of Academy Awards.
He said “Hannah my wife”. Now look at my name.
Congratulations.
lol!
Lol me too😂
Wow. Now aren't you one of those rare, few thousand ones named Hannah.
Hannah Policar
My name’s Hannah too👍🏼
I'm in the worst mood ever, but his woow at 2:01 bought the biggest smile on my face. He's amazing!!
EMPTY FACE soo true xD his happiness is contagious every time I watch a video when he smiles I smile likke a dumb too 😂
Seen many actors winning Oscars, but the expression of joy on Eddie face is real and motivates many of us to work hard to achieve our dreams.
As much as I wanted Michael Keaton to get it, I knew in my bones that Eddie was going to win.
Keaton didn't win? :(
SAG and BAFTA were also pretty good clues, too.
Josh Thomas. Seriously?
Sean Pultz just because Eddie deserved it, he really was the best, (although I was including Bradley Cooper to my expectations)
HE IS HONESTLY THE PURIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN AW THE WAY HE ACTED WHEN HIS NAME GOT CALLED WAS SO ADORABLE
I deeply appreciate you for you for being a fan. It gives me so much joy that I am able to put smiles on the faces and heart of many.❤️
first i thought: how can benedict not win this, i mean i have seen the imitation game and its the best acting ive ever seen. but than when i saw eddie i was just forgot all of that, hes so happy xD
Have you seen the theory of everything?
Wow that line up of nominations...this is how you know how well earned & deserved this win was
I deeply appreciate you for you for being a fan. It gives me so much joy that I am able to put smiles on the faces and heart of many.💗
He's so adorable I caaan't 😭 And you can clearly see his wife on the verge of crying at the end that was so cute
I think Benedict Cumberbatch did such a great job with The Imitiation Game, seen it thousands of times, it's amazing. But after seeing The Theory of Everything I loved Eddie.
Not to forget that Cumberbatch also portrayed Stephen Hawkins once.
As a fellow Benedict fan, I'm very proud of Eddie.
Me too. Benedict Cumberbatch is an idol, but Eddie deserves the Oscar so much
all of the nominated were tough ones they all did good in their respective films
+missStockholm Absolutely. An incredible lineup.
2013 was pretty good too.
I could not agree no more
2:54 I like how Felicity is like “I’m clapping for myself” lol
And btw, that’s a fantastic suit Eddie has on
"Okie dokie smoky"
-Academy Award Winner, Cate Blanchett
Hayden Silbermann I know. What a stupid thing to say. Sometimes, it's better to just be serious than make a lame joke on National Television where everyone judges you for your mistake.
Hayden Silbermann FUCK YOU AAHAHAHA
Hayden Silbermann That's the Australian in her :P
***** My computer.
Hayden Silbermann she's queen :D
He truly came upon that oscar honestly. He was phenomenal in that movie. His acting has such incredible depth and emotion. Bravo! Well done!!!
