I will never get tired of watching Illidan kill that Naaru. Also, I love when Sylvanas holds back a smile when she sees what a great king Anduin is, during the battle for Lordaeron.
Thank you so much nobbel! Coming from someone who stopped playing half way through legion and missed all that kickass stuff! Keep doing what your doing! 👌🏻🍻
Noble I am so glad there is someone like you. I enjoy listening to you tell wow stories, I've subscribed to you years ago and havent stopped listening to you since. Now I am caught up on everything I need to know about wow. Thank you.
Thank you for all your work with all my heart! I am just watching everyday and learning many things man! Also thanks for how you speak about the lore's and etc! I feel like watching a movie ! Thanks a lot!
Yes Nobbel! I've been a lurker for a (very, very long) while. Been on and off with WoW too, your videos make me fall in love with the story of WoW everytime and was hugely influential in me coming back for BFA. Thank you buddy, keep up the work. You're amazing!
One of my favorite moments from Before the Storm is when Magni shows up in Thunderbluff, greets Hammul respectfully and then he just turns to Sylvanas, points his finger straight to her face and basically calls her out for the Azerite. Then he just casually leaves because he knows there is jack-shit that they can do to him. I just thought it was funny since everyone else is pretty much terrified of Sylvanas.
I wouldn't call being a genocidal maniac 'badass'. Otherwise is Hitler a badass? Since people were scared of him and followed him in his atrocities as a result?
Void might be terrified, but Magni sure ain't. He couldn't give less of a shit. Also Sylvanas is probably a threat to the void because she has made a pact with something else. I wonder what it might be.
The WoWhead article is now live, sorry for the delay everyone! Hope this recap will make you feel more prepared for the upcoming battle for azeroth! www.wowhead.com/news=285979/the-story-of-legion-with-nobbel87
Thanks for the summary, I do not play WoW but I am very intrigued by the lore and this video sounds like a good summary for everything up to this point.
Everyone is so caught up in fighting each other, horde vs alliance, while I'm just sitting here with my popcorn watching and waiting to fight the old gods, the void lords, and the light lords. Those are our real enemies, the light in it's all consuming goal for order, the void in it's all consuming goal of chaos, and the old gods who want to see it all destroyed. That is the real threat and we need to settle our differences and problems quickly if Azeroth has any hope of surviving.
This was probably my favorite expansion. Just so much in and out of the game affected the way I feel about wow in this expac, and I played wow since I was like 10 (now 22.) I can't put into words how I feel about this game.
Urgh... I really appreciate these videos because of their huge amount of information and great production quality. But man, you really gotta SLOW DOWN reading your script. Your accent combined with speaking faster than most native English speakers do makes it nearly impossible for me to comprehend without watching the whole video twice, and some sections multiple times, with subtitles. I even had to mute it at one point which sorta helped, lol. Again though, I really appreciate your videos and how much effort you clearly put into them.
Can someone tell me what the Horde did to fight the Legion? In the end even tho some have turned to other factions, the army of the light, illidan, magni, kadghar and velen are from alliance races.
Honestly that sword planted into the planet should've caused bigger cataclysm than deathwing (pretty much reset the planet).. and instead we got shiny steam coming from the ground, pretty neat!
Can someone help me understand why he is rolling certain syllables like a rolled r? Is it something that's supposed to sound more fantasy-like or something?
There's something I'm a bit confused about. I never did the Legion raids so I don't know if they answered it, but this video kind of went right past it. How and when did Sargeras start literally straddling Azeroth? What was he doing?
hello nobbel . at 12:35 in the video . before sarg did impale the world with his sword . he was holding some spot of it with his left hand or putting his hand on some spot . as if his hand is deep into the land . which makes me thin which zone it is and shouldn't it be crashed " this place ? have some destructive effect on it ?
I still would've liked to see how a light-infused Illidan would've played out. Obviously we ended up winning so that begs the question what on Earth Xe'ra was prophesizing?
Is the Earthen Ring still a thing? I think that Shamans in general (but especially Orc ones) should be more than aware of the risks involved in exploiting the very essence of the planet. The Horde crisis has been limited to honor vs victory at all costs but the main thing seems incomprehensively unexplored...
Maybe Sargeras was finally able to locate Azeroth thanks to the tear which we used to travel to Argus. Before Legion, Sargeras had no idea where Azeroth was located in the Great Dark which is why he always tried to get summoned there. The cloud might have been some kind of corruption that Sargeras tried to use to turn Azeroth into a dark titan. And when he realized that he will be stopped he tried to at least murder her.
Ehm Sargeras did not want to turn Azeroth into a dark titan. His intention from the start was to prevent her from becoming a dark titan because during his search for old coruption in the universe he has found a corupted planet with a slumbering titan soul within it and immidiately killed it so it does not grow up and wake up as a dark titan. The other titans were pretty pissed that he killed one of their kind and told him that the corruption must be contained and that killing the titan souls is just not an option. That's why Sargeras formed the Burning legion to cleanse all life in the universe so it does not get corrupt. His idea is that "no life in the universe is better than all of that life becoming corupt".
What if the planet of azeroth is torn apart in the end and we have to find a new planet and either abandon azeroth or transfer her soul into it. New leveling revamp :^)
I have a question. How does Ebonhorn change things? I mean up until Ebonhorn's reveal it was believed that Wrathion was the last black dragon, or at least the only uncorrupted black dragon. Not to mention it was believed he was heir to Neltharion if there is such a thing. Now there's Ebonhorn or Ebyssian who is much older and I'm guessing rather powerful. How does this change things?
Hmm doesn't change much for overall story, but has potential for future story like a meet up of the last remaining black dragons, finding a perm sollution to their corruption. Sky be the limit
Thanks for the reply. Personally I suspect there will be conflict between the two. Wrathion doesn't seem to be the sharing type. While he may not be corrupted by the old gods he does seem to be rather ambitious and greedy from what little I've seen of him, which admittedly isn't much.
So... Gul'dan invites the Legion. The Horde and Alliance team up to fight the Legion. The Alliance complains about the Horde's retreat and bitch about it, while losing their king and inviting Illidan and demon hunters. Ancient relics are collected to launch an attack from Azeroth to Argus. Azaroth succeeds takes the fight to the Titan's throne. All succeeds. But sword gets stuck to Azeroth while imprisoning Sargares. Illidan stays to get even with the fallen titan. The land of Azeroth cleans up the sword and discovers Azerite. Now the Horde and Alliance fight with their sake and craives for shiny stones?
I would pick up the earlier games in the franchise if you can. You can also get some of the novels and read some lore books in game. Lastly, the zones themselves tend to have their own stories though sadly little from Classic WoW remains.
I started with The Last Guardian book, which covers a little bit of the first war. Alternatively you can start with The War of The Ancient trilogy which covers the first invasion of the Legion 10,000 years ago, before the continents were split.
if im not mistaken nobbel have a video of just that, and whit some fast goggling i found this for you us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20742474414 a nice order you can start whit, i can say that i have read everything in wow lore and have same knowledge as nobbel in warcraft lore cuz i REALLY love the lore of wow, my favorite book is still War of the ancients 1-3 ore just the big book all 3 in one big one.
Hey Nobbel87, is there any chance you could put together a playlist of videos in chronological order from earliest to latest? With so much content it's hard to figure out what should be watched, and in what order.
@Nobbel what do you think the spirits showed vol'jin, he states no1 will understand his decision to make her warchief. Do you think they will elaborate on this in BFA?
You have a very song-like cadence when you speak. Not sure if it is intentional or not, but it's an informative video anyway. It's hard to take it seriously though.
What I'll never understand is why u talk normal in interviews (which I rly enjoyed so far) and talk like that in ur own content. For example saying broka shoo instead of broken shore. So hard to listen to O_o However, no hate, really nice refresher video! Edit: His latest Sylvanas review was another proof of my observation. :D
i love the way he talks in these, my personal favorite is "her X' or "his X" instead of using 's. for example: "Sylvannas her sister...changed her mind about killing Garrosh". its quite charming and adorable
Nob, I want to ask you, how did you know that Jaina is the suspect for the burn of the Teldrassil? and what do you think about Vol`Jin's ashes will do something on BFA? since Blizzard tell us the about his ashes on the Blizz Con last year (I think)
I don't know if it's my inability to grasp your accent or if its your tendency to speak at light speed some times, but you are almost impossible to follow. I have to pause and repeat what you say so many times, that i eventually give up.
English is my third language and I'm still learning but I really like his videos! Listening to different accents and pace is really helpful. It's easy to understand imo! But reduce the speed of put subtitles if it's hard for you
Sadly, I agree. It's the speed he's speaking combined with the accent. It's not hard to understand his accent when he speaks slower, but most of the time he's just speaking too damn fast for my brain to compensate for the accent. I'm on my second watch with subtitles -_-
It’s pretty much insufferable. I can’t understand him. I really don’t have the patience to replay what he is saying, which is unfortunate because as a new player with WoW who has no idea what anything or who anyone is, I am his prime demographic to watch his videos.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. The content is great but it's so hard to understand. Luckily there are captions provided but if he'd just slow down a bit, it'd be a lot easier to follow.
There is one choice missing for BfA. I bet a good chunk of the Priests and Druids would choose too. That choice is SIDE WITH THE SPEAKER and focus on healing Azeroth. Hell I play a mage and that would be my choice too. War of the Thorns be damned, we have bigger fish to fry. Like saving our damn wolrd. We can fight over who rules what corner of Azeroth ONCE it's saved.
I hate it that Illidan stays behind to...be imprisoned together with Sargaras in eternal battle?... As if demons are the only threat to Azeroth. He shouldn't abandon his Illidari like that, but give them and himself an new ourpose.
I was talking to a friend of mine a month ago or so. Told her I had an idea about WoW. We already know time travel is in WoW. If you watch the opening cinematic for The Burning Crusade and then watch the Cinematic for when you defeat Gul'dan at the Nighthold it almost seems like they could have been part of one thing. Illidan said "You are not prepared!". What if that was the Illinois from Legion traveling back just to tell us we need to work hard? The Legion version of Illidan knowing what he did could have seen that only after we survived everything from the Burning Crusdae, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, and Warlords of Draenor we would actually be strong enough to defeat Sargaras and the Legion forever. I might not have explained that as well as I could have. TL;DR of it is Illidan came back in time to steer us on the right path to make us strong enough to defeat one of the strongest forces.
Been watching for years and just want to say thank you for the dedication and great work. I say this as many among fans you are a hero to us all
“No means no.” ~Nobbel
jacob dehart I always get a laugh out of these videos, but I shot mountain dew out of my nose at that.
Lord Illidan knows the way.
:)
A matter-of-fact statement in 1998.
A meme in 2018.
"with Varian Disenchanted"
Got to get more mats somehow, right?
The arcane dust is then used for strength enchants
I laughed so hard! haha
dis·en·chant·ed

It's not CH, where did you find that?
12:32 "Yeah Sargeras is a cloud now" , lol who did the subtitles? They are genius ahaha
Marcos Rofl
My Computer - > Right Click my Computer -> Empty My COmputer. Your computer captioned these.
local draenei yells at cloud
I will never get tired of watching Illidan kill that Naaru. Also, I love when Sylvanas holds back a smile when she sees what a great king Anduin is, during the battle for Lordaeron.
she didnt smiled because of what "a great king Anduin is". It was more of a "revive them bitch u will still die" smile
She wanted THE DDD !!!
Thank you.
Ahhh happy to help!!1
Thank you for all your work with all my heart! I am just watching everyday and learning many things man! Also thanks for how you speak about the lore's and etc! I feel like watching a movie ! Thanks a lot!

Thanks immensely for your dedication to the expansion story and WoW lore, Nobbel! Great vid!
Dude your videos are the best wow lore content on UA-cam. Keep up the good work.
Even the void is terrified of her. You know you are a bad ass when even the void, a force of destruction is afraid of the Undead Warchief.
I wouldn't call being a genocidal maniac 'badass'.
Otherwise is Hitler a badass? Since people were scared of him and followed him in his atrocities as a result?
Being a "badass" is perspective of opinion. There is no objective way of declaring one a badass. So to some, yes.
Jonathan Tessier
Hitler wasn't a magical undead archer elf that can take on small armies on her own.
Void might be terrified, but Magni sure ain't. He couldn't give less of a shit.
Also Sylvanas is probably a threat to the void because she has made a pact with something else. I wonder what it might be.
Would we ever see a revamp for the full story of warcraft video?
you mean a 30 hours video ? no
Nathan Dean I'd love to learn pre warcraft 1 lore, where can i find info.about it?
Artur Schopenhauer you can look at nobbel's videos , the lost codex or read chronicle volume 1 , wowpedia etc
Artur Schopenhauer warcraft 3 cutscenes. All the cutscenes put together is like one big movie. It's very interesting.
Antonio He said prewarcraft 1
I was hoping for this video. Thanks
The WoWhead article is now live, sorry for the delay everyone! Hope this recap will make you feel more prepared for the upcoming battle for azeroth! www.wowhead.com/news=285979/the-story-of-legion-with-nobbel87
What have we learned from this, never trust the judgement of a dying World Leader poisoned by Fel Sepsis.
Dun dun dun
Thanks for the summary, I do not play WoW but I am very intrigued by the lore and this video sounds like a good summary for everything up to this point.

I love how close Velen and Illidian got even though they are have such opposite characters
Been forced away from the game for the whole of Legion (and pissed about it) so thank you for these videos man and keep up the amazing work!
I Just started watching your videos and I can't handle your voice it's so perfect
This is EXACTLY what I needed! Thanks!!
Great video as always! This just made me even more hyped for BfA!!! Thanks Nobbel!!
This was probably my favorite expansion. Just so much in and out of the game affected the way I feel about wow in this expac, and I played wow since I was like 10 (now 22.) I can't put into words how I feel about this game.
Thank you for the catch up.
thank you very much for making subtitles
Nobbel. With another bad ass goodnight story! Night y'all
I'm so glad you've resumed saying "Hello Everyone..."
Amazing video, as always
Awesome catch up video.
How was Anduin able to loot Shalamane? It should be soulbound.
Account-wide Item
Anduin is a direct twink of Varian
and has now become the main char of the Wrynn account
Fel magic is fueled by souls. What if Gul’dan used Varian’s soul to fuel his destruction?
Stimulating! You are helping to build my enthusiasm for BFA.
Thanks for the recap.
Ackchually! Velen is a Son of Argus, not a child of Azeroth. 10:55
Loved it, would be great if one day you can summarize the story of each expa in a separate video 1/2 hour long, I don;t think any one made it yet. :)
I needed this. Thank you.
Nice overview, thank you :)
Nice job man.
Haha i felt the same and i speak native english! the accent on some letters like d and r kept throwing me, had to slow the video down to help
Agreed on all points.
Agreed
It's kinda difficult to understand what he says, but good content! Thanks for the video.
Can someone tell me what the Horde did to fight the Legion? In the end even tho some have turned to other factions, the army of the light, illidan, magni, kadghar and velen are from alliance races.
Hey Nobbel, what is the glaive-like weapon that your Paladin is wearing around 3:45? Awesome recap, thanks mang!
You remind me so much of Necrit for League of Legends. Love ur content 👌
Nobbel u the man keep it up
If Varian split shalamayne and Anduin only picks up one half, how comes that in BFA he has the whole sword?
Honestly that sword planted into the planet should've caused bigger cataclysm than deathwing (pretty much reset the planet).. and instead we got shiny steam coming from the ground, pretty neat!
honestly every cinematic is acted like its a freaking trailer :)) , "I am my scars "is the best
Can someone help me understand why he is rolling certain syllables like a rolled r? Is it something that's supposed to sound more fantasy-like or something?
The subs absolutely killed me, especially Sargeras being a cloud and the ones just after it, holy shit.
There's something I'm a bit confused about. I never did the Legion raids so I don't know if they answered it, but this video kind of went right past it. How and when did Sargeras start literally straddling Azeroth? What was he doing?
from which quest/npc what so over is this polearm at ca. 3:10 ?
hello nobbel . at 12:35 in the video . before sarg did impale the world with his sword . he was holding some spot of it with his left hand or putting his hand on some spot . as if his hand is deep into the land . which makes me thin which zone it is and shouldn't it be crashed " this place ? have some destructive effect on it ?
They need a 3rd faction, those players who don’t buy into the faction b.s. reasons for fighting... Mercenary for the WIN!
Our battle cry, FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY!
Wray Day goblins screaming for the horde and for profit made me think of your comment lol
Wray Day yeah let's be real, there will always be those who dont want to conform.. especially in the horde.
When Sargeras stabbed the world, he placed his hand on the world as well. There should be a giant handprint somewhere.
That poor orc jumping right on that spear
Is anything going to happen to quel thalas and the sunwell?
I still would've liked to see how a light-infused Illidan would've played out. Obviously we ended up winning so that begs the question what on Earth Xe'ra was prophesizing?
Is the Earthen Ring still a thing? I think that Shamans in general (but especially Orc ones) should be more than aware of the risks involved in exploiting the very essence of the planet. The Horde crisis has been limited to honor vs victory at all costs but the main thing seems incomprehensively unexplored...
3:45 what quest chain is that? Is that alliance only?
Nah that was part of the pre-event, don't think it's available anymore
THansk fro your response, nobbel! I missed the launch of legion, so that would explain why I didn't recognize that. Wonderful videos, as always!
Love it Nobbel
The story of Legion: we killed Sargeras and now there's literally no one left, so it's time for another war.
Will you cover the story of each zone in bfa?
Ofcourse!
Nobbel87 I was gonna say, it's kinda "your thing" so I would have been surprized if the answer was "no."
Maybe I missed it but why was Sargeras a cloud on Azeroth? How'd he get there?
Unexaplained, they all just suddenly turned out and were like 'There's sargeras."

New leveling revamp :^)
maybe the end of MOdern wow, hopefully. dead planet, no more azeroth, can only play in BC, or the classic server
Can you do this kinda thing for the other expansions too?
I was planning to write the script for this. But, then I saw this video and liked it more then mine 😂👌
I still miss Legion!
What has Muradin Bronzebeard bin up to since Wrath?
That one down vote is from Sargeras!
Grinding out 'em hitters boooy
Nobbel have you done a “full story of Lorethemar Theron” video yet?
Nope! On the list
That’s awesome thanks man! I’m looking forward to it.
I am trying get into more of the lore in WoW but I don't know where to start in terms of the books, any suggestions?
I started with Rise of the Horde, very good book.
Cool I will take a look
I would pick up the earlier games in the franchise if you can. You can also get some of the novels and read some lore books in game. Lastly, the zones themselves tend to have their own stories though sadly little from Classic WoW remains.

if im not mistaken nobbel have a video of just that, and whit some fast goggling i found this for you us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20742474414
a nice order you can start whit, i can say that i have read everything in wow lore and have same knowledge as nobbel in warcraft lore cuz i REALLY love the lore of wow, my favorite book is still War of the ancients 1-3 ore just the big book all 3 in one big one.
What sword?
It bothers me that i bought the BfA before i hit lvl 110 and i feel like i have missed much about the legion...
Yaaass nobbel on a Saturday night
yassss
*"I AM MY SCARS"*
Hey Nobbel87, is there any chance you could put together a playlist of videos in chronological order from earliest to latest? With so much content it's hard to figure out what should be watched, and in what order.
Aye! ua-cam.com/video/bQ__nRnO2mE/v-deo.html
Thanks dude, you rock!
Wait. Wasn't Kezan destroyed by Deathwing and not by some mining of Azerite?
Aye that was the original explenation, Deathwing and Gallywix blaming us. Now they weaved his mining operations into it.
Wait, will there be a lore video today?
Make sure to put "Sylvanas can do no wrong" every 10 seconds to please Daddy Ion
great video! but hard to watch in the background as accent was a bit hard to understand as you talked too fast in certain spots :/
Odin looks like the little brother of Sargeras.
kaNe ?
Max K ?
i love the way he talks in these, my personal favorite is "her X' or "his X" instead of using 's. for example: "Sylvannas her sister...changed her mind about killing Garrosh". its quite charming and adorable
I concur. The guy makes good content, but his accent combined with high talking speed makes it non-intelligible in most parts.
Nob, I want to ask you, how did you know that Jaina is the suspect for the burn of the Teldrassil?
and what do you think about Vol`Jin's ashes will do something on BFA? since Blizzard tell us the about his ashes on the Blizz Con last year (I think)
We don't know if she's the suspect for the burning, I personally hope not but it's been wondered by players. Yes, ashes have their part to play
cos I remember on other videos that you make that she's the one who burn it..
I see.. it's just a mere speculation..
I don't know if it's my inability to grasp your accent or if its your tendency to speak at light speed some times, but you are almost impossible to follow. I have to pause and repeat what you say so many times, that i eventually give up.

You would have thought that after making so many videos about Wow his pacing would have improved, but somehow it's gotten worse.
Luckily there are captions provided but if he'd just slow down a bit, it'd be a lot easier to follow.
the players legit cannot lose
Raxo only to blizzard haha
Is Illidan the Übermensch?
There is one choice missing for BfA. I bet a good chunk of the Priests and Druids would choose too. That choice is SIDE WITH THE SPEAKER and focus on healing Azeroth.
Hell I play a mage and that would be my choice too. War of the Thorns be damned, we have bigger fish to fry. Like saving our damn wolrd. We can fight over who rules what corner of Azeroth ONCE it's saved.
Reminds me of the Pandaren starting zone, where the healers heal the turtles wound
I mean Anduin was focused on healing until Sylvannas attacked

"Ourrrr assault on de Brrrrroken shorrree failed, and therrrre was a change in leaderrrrrship among the factions."
How sargeras come back to life , cuz of time travel thing or another else?
I hate it that Illidan stays behind to...be imprisoned together with Sargaras in eternal battle?...
As if demons are the only threat to Azeroth. He shouldn't abandon his Illidari like that, but give them and himself an new ourpose.
Sylvanas Windrunner uses Blade Dance.
TL;DR of it is Illidan came back in time to steer us on the right path to make us strong enough to defeat one of the strongest forces.
what was 3 lies of Anduin? the boyking. not informed yet?
alireza Ahmadi he told us only 1 yet... We didn't defeat the Legion...
Still don't know if it refers to Anduin. Old Gods always speak in half truths. "boy-king" could be intentionally obvious to make you think its Anduin.
Megan Mistweaver it makes me think... What other kings/princes exist?
Chomplet King she means son of deathwing, but she's wrong 100% its Anduin
Chomplet King maybe a blood-prince like keleseth
I've been catching up all month
I absolutely do not understand how Sargeras can fit through well of intercity...
only the old gods whispers
