If ever there was a movie that deserved to be a franchise, it was this one. The character and world building was amazing. Would have loved to see more Dredd movies in this same style with the same characters.

I'm sad that he did not do a background video for this one. Judge Dredd as a character should get more attention. I'd like a movie franchise, but can accept a show (as long it's 16 or more episodes a season to get some good bottle episodes based of the comics) or a video game series.
I'm sad that he didn't do a background because while I know that the franchise _exists_ (and may in fact be called _2000AD,_ rather than _Judge Dredd,)_ I know very little about it. For example, I don't even know if Megacity One was originally centered on London (since the source is British) rather than New York City.

This movie was superior to the Stallone movie. BUT it’s not the perfect live action adaptation of Judge Dredd. One thing I can’t stress enough. Dredd at least the books in the ‘80s is a parody. It’s a parody of American culture. A very biting parody at that. Mega City One and the American wasteland always has a hint of comedic undertones to it. Read the Cursed Earth storyline and when you get to the McDonalds v. Burger King turf war tell me this isn’t a parody. It’s the main characters that treat it like a serious comic. They are the straight men. So believe it or not, the perfect Dredd movie would honestly be put the Karl Urban Dredd characters, in Stallone Dredd’s world.
I still prefer the Stallone version. It was cheesier, which is exactly what a movie like this SHOULD be. This just feels like "Die Hard meets Attack the Block, but with the art direction of the RoboCop and Total Recall remakes". Plus, I think this guy's helmet is too big compared to his head.

This was SO FREAKING GOOD. A shame it didn't get sequels. Urban gave an ideal performance for Dredd.

I remember watching this when 3D was so common in theaters. And those Slo-Mo scenes blew my mind.
