You should also check out PTX's official video to this song just to figure out what the song is about. It's pretty entertaining too (think Zombie Apocalypse). Here's the story behind this performance: the previous song featured Kevin on the cello, so he was backstage putting the cello away during the operatic intro. He returns to the stage (not seen on camera) just as Avi hits that low note, which actually damaged the speakers at the Star Vista Theater! Earlier in the show, Mitch had been suffering from jet lag, so he had downed two Red Bulls back-to-back during a backstage break. Right after Avi hit that note, Mitch's Red Bulls kicked in, and he proceeded to go completely INSANE on stage, while Avi continued to joyously shred the sound system in the background. And thus you have the live performance that most Pentaholics consider to be the best of their career...made even more legendary by the fact that it appears this entire performance was ONLY captured on this fan video!!
I have seen this performance in a more professional video, which is not well known, and I don't think I could find it again. Nor do I want to. It misses most of the reason that this video is so good. This video is the Avi and Mitch show. The person recording focused mostly on Mitch and we all appreciate it. But the other video did not, and misses the whole Mitch show. Yes, the sound is better, but it just doesn't. Nuf said
I knew I wasn't crazy. I did see the other video once. I also wouldn't know how to find it. You are correct About avi and mitch. In the official video I have no idea what they're saying then. It's just a joy to watch Mitch in this performance. Also In the official video the girl who asks does anybody know any ghost stories played Caroline on Vampire diaries. At least I'm pretty sure that's what her name was it's been a long time. She was also on 1 episode of supernatural.

Yes, they did do a cover of Take on Me by AHA. It's audio only and on their Classics album. It's another Mitch show. He covers 4 1/2 octaves climbing to the high note in the Take on Me chorus.

This was before Avi left, so he had a chance (which he took) to blow out a speaker with his low notes near the beginning of this video. As for what "Aha" is; that's harder to say. There are a couple other videos out there where the sound system withstands Avi's bass, and the sound is much cleaner. None have the energy of this one though!
Yeah, just because. Avi's super-low note blew half the speakers, that's why you can't hear his part that well. Kevin's on the far right, he was putting away his cello from the song before. This is Mitch's song.. his voice, his showmanship & the high notes just blow me away, every time I hear it!

This is a fan cam video filmed on their phone.... it didn't like Avi's frequencies and just went fuzzy. The venue sound system didn't fair as well as the phone.... the speakers blew that night.
I laugh when you said you couldn't understand what they were saying because I realized the lyrics (to me) really make no sense anyway. I only know them because it would always autoplay when I plugged in my ipod. I didn't realize it was alphabetical until this took over Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" when I'd start up my car. lol
Nope, it's a cover of the song Aha! by Imogen Heap, not doing a song by the group AHA. (Take On Me is a classic though.🙂) As others said, Kevin was putting away his cello while they did a bit of an intro. He had been in the center on the previous song. He came back on stage just as Aha! starts, & so you hear his beatboxing come in on the background, but the camera is focused on Avi then turns to Mitch, who has moved over to center stage because he will be the focus of this song. Scott slid over too & Kevin took his spot, but the person filming is obviously 🤤 over Mitch (not that I can blame them!) & barely follows Mitch's direction of when to focus on Avi again. They never turn the camera far enough right again to see Kevin. 😂 So one of the alternate titles of this vid is "the where's Kevin? video".
Another reacter found and played the original artist singing this and then played someone else singing it. By the time it got to watching Pentatonics, it made a lot more sense. I suggest you find the original version. You may (or may not) understand it more.

Mitch was on 🔥, Avi blew the speakers and PTX do what they do best! Think baby PTX, less than a year old, on the couch around one 🎙 with Kevin and Avi front and center. You can see and hear what each of them do without passing out or hyperventilating!
I would love to hear a studio version of this, the sound quality here was not the best, but it wasn't so bad that you couldn't tell how great they are.

The 5th person was Kevin, and he was there, just not in the picture. This was before Avi left, so he had a chance (which he took) to blow out a speaker with his low notes near the beginning of this video.
As for what "Aha" is; that's harder to say. It's an Imogen Heap cover (I think I spelled that right) and it's thoroughly strange. Check out their official video release if you're in the mood for a full-on zombie apocalypse set to music. And even after watching that, I *still* don't understand the words.

Yeah, just because. Avi's super-low note blew half the speakers, that's why you can't hear his part that well. Kevin's on the far right, he was putting away his cello from the song before. This is Mitch's song.. his voice, his showmanship & the high notes just blow me away, every time I hear it!

This is a fan cam video filmed on their phone.... it didn't like Avi's frequencies and just went fuzzy. The venue sound system didn't fair as well as the phone.... the speakers blew that night.
I laugh when you said you couldn't understand what they were saying because I realized the lyrics (to me) really make no sense anyway. I only know them because it would always autoplay when I plugged in my ipod. I didn't realize it was alphabetical until this took over Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" when I'd start up my car. lol

As others said, Kevin was putting away his cello while they did a bit of an intro. He had been in the center on the previous song. He came back on stage just as Aha! starts, & so you hear his beatboxing come in on the background, but the camera is focused on Avi then turns to Mitch, who has moved over to center stage because he will be the focus of this song. Scott slid over too & Kevin took his spot, but the person filming is obviously 🤤 over Mitch (not that I can blame them!) & barely follows Mitch's direction of when to focus on Avi again. They never turn the camera far enough right again to see Kevin. 😂 So one of the alternate titles of this vid is "the where's Kevin? video".
Another reacter found and played the original artist singing this and then played someone else singing it. By the time it got to watching Pentatonics, it made a lot more sense. I suggest you find the original version. You may (or may not) understand it more.
