And I forgot to ask. If using this plugin on the master bus, in which order should it be put? And if using Ozone 9 mastering tool, should this be used before or after the Ozone plugin?
Just got it. It's very good. It sorta acts like the bass, midrange and treble of an amp or receiver that I used to use, way before you were born. Nice plugin. I'm gonna mess around with it and give an update to this comment. Good job Michael.
I own it now. I love it. I made a template with a drum kit and a drum bus. I have Reviver and the Youlean Loudness Meter on the Master. The both work great, as expected, coming from you. My mixes are cleaner and sound like they're live and not electronic. Outstanding plugin. Thanks again Michael. You're the bestest.
@inthemix. I love this plugin. I also felt as disappointed as you were by traditional plugins when you made this plugin. It's perfection at its best. I need to start saving up for it. Even if it takes me a year. Shootout to you all the way from South Africa.❤
You can achieve negative values by boosting the same amount you want to tame > bouncing the output as its own .wav > reverse its polarity > sum it with the original to get the delta > reverse the polarity of the delta (at least I think... triple negatives are always confusing) > then sum that with the original. I just tested this with a transient processor and it does work. But of course it's very cumbersome. I'm pretty sure this process is what having a negative value knob would actually do in the plugin anyways, but until they update it with such a feature, this is a doable workaround.
I might need to pick this up this week with the sale price. Definitely keeping this one on my radar. As a music producer with serious hearing issues this sort of thing helps get a decent output without playing with EQs and watching visuals. I can't hear certain frequencies at all so what may sound ok to me may not sound good to someone else; this is literally a game changer for me.
Hello, my question is where would I put this plugin in my signal chain in Pro Tools whether I am using it on a track or on my Mix Bus. Not sure where to slot in relation to the other types of plugins in the signal chain.
Bro coming in hot. IDK if I understand it 100% but i can still hear pretty well so I dropped some coin for it to support and go deep. Keep it poppin g.
FYI, the account/checkout flow on your BSA site is cool, but the post purchase flow screens don’t render correctly (is not responsive) on Mobile, iPhone 13 to be specific. Once purchased, you can’t see the DL button on the device unless you flip Landscape and finger scroll right. I usually buy things on mobile and DL then hit the studio later to review new devices etc…thanks boss 🖤😎🙌
@@ItsWesSmithYo thanks for the feedback. I don’t think they expect anyone to download on mobile as the downloads are optimised and intended for computers. Do you then send the downloaded file to your computer in the studio?
@@inthemix yeah I do it 90% of time this way. I watch info, buy on mobile, dl to apple iOS file system and it syncs to my same doc folder structure on studio machine. I have a simple workflow to add to my DAW, review, implement or park all new things. And I’m pressing buttons m making noise;)
Thanks for responding to the initial feedback, including the distinction between filtering and EQ. However, this video raised a new question. In the second half of your video, you're seen adjusting input and output gains separately from each other, all the while you were explaining how useful linking the giant knobs had been. How come there's no "inverse link" feature for the little gain knobs then? It would make gain-matched A/B testing possible as well as getting the delta audio trivial.
I'll definitely get this in the future. I mostly use my phone for production, and i just got a new computer. Since I'm so used to music prod on my phone I'm gonna stay there, but i do plan on sound designing on it. Now getting this to help master at the end seems great!
Thank you for the video and visual explanation; even with all this information being in the manual, this helps me so much. I picked up this plugin earlier and have mostly been playing with it for a few hours. I noticed myself doing the same thing with the input and output levels that you mentioned with the band knobs -- would it be possible to add an optional inverse link button for input and output gain? Thank you for the work you put into this, and thank you for the discount code this week! I can totally see this being worth the full price, but with other life expenses this brought it to a more affordable spot for me.
Question about the Oversampling.... Were you also using ultrasonic filters as well? To literally stop foldback distortion from coming back in and aliasing? Instead of just relying on Oversampling? When just using oversampling sometimes it takes like around 16x to get rid some high order stuff effectively..... Depending on the level of nonlinearity. Ultrasonic filtering seems like a really good solution in parallel with Oversampling.
Only 6 minutes into the video so forgive me if you cover this later, but with regards to keeping the plugin simple to use: You could do what Slate did with the FGX-2, which is to have a button near the top that switches the plugin into "advanced" mode, which provides more controls (like adjustable bands/crossover points, and whatever else you might want to add to it). That way you get to keep the plugin simple and clean with a slim UI for those who want it that way, and also provide the one-click added flexibility for those who want that extra control. For what it's worth, I much prefer plugins that do it the FGX-2 way, as opposed to when companies have 2 different plugins for a simple version and an advanced version. I understand that being useful for resource heavy plugins when you have a light version and a full version, but for those that aren't that - just give us a damn toggle! Our plugin lists are already huge lol
You can achieve negative values by boosting the same amount you want to tame > bouncing the output as its own .wav > reverse its polarity > sum it with the original to get the delta > reverse the polarity of the delta (at least I think... triple negatives are always confusing) > then sum that with the original so you subtract by the same amount that you originally added.
UPDATE: I love this plugin. I use it on the master. I use "Master Clarity and Detail" for most mixes. One of the best plugins I own. Fl Studio must love having you. This is just like sending all tracks to a receiver, only digitally. Is it still $49 or $99?
I want to ask you if having 2 or more Daws could slow down our system. Could you help me by answering this because i have fl and logic in my macbook pro but face crashes quite frequently in both the softwares..
On some valued phone I hear the low band changes well. But the mid/high changes I can't really hear on these devices on the first track. On headphones it's clearly noticable. Could be possible new phones own internal limiters to prevent damage or make the sound more even to the speakers. On the vocal track it's noticable. I'm on 50% phone volume. On your first video it's a lot more noticeable in the demos.
This plugin won’t do that however, my next video is about a free plugin called “GOYO” which is a phenomenal free denoiser plugin which uses AI to separate voices from noise. Definitely give that a try!
@@inthemix Well, I just tried the beta version of GOYO and it used up most of my CPU and all of my GPU utilization. I guess I might have to wait until they finish the product.
Even though this is a relatively cheap plugin ... then I think I'll wait for the option to select the band splits myself :) These defaults seem to "ignore" the most common sweet spot for the fundamental of snares, for instance. I'm aware that it could still be useful though, regardless! Sometimes too "basic" is not a "one size fits all". :)
can you please do us a review / tutorial on WaveLab Pro 11... I found a lot out there but none where helpful and precise for an FL Studio user perspective... thanks Michael!

What about negative values? To tame transients that were overly processed? Delta listen would be a great addition. I like the plugin.

The Reviewer is a bit like the fresh air from slate but with an extra low knob🔥🔥🔥🔥
At first i thought its just a copy of Fresh Air. But it looks like it works differently and truly revive the weak frequency.

Very cool! Did you use JUCE, in-house libraries, or something else when coding it?
JUCE
I wonder if I can use this to make gunshots in my gaming videos more bass'ey
Can this be used on single piano tracks?
Yes. Depending on the recording, it can bring back dynamics on over compressed piano tracks or reinforce the low end.
So I can't use it to add dynamics or saturation effect to the high end?
Will the mid band separate voices from loud, constant backgeound noise??? How adaptive is it? I am thinking about AM radio which can be very noisy.
