Good job! I have a question, did you wet sand it before spraying the clear? I for got to wet sand it while it was primed and I painted it, can I wet sand and then add the clear coat?
If you are spraying a metallic color, I wouldn’t wet sand before clear coat.
how do you tell if your bmw is pre lci or lci
Well the LCI charge happened for the 2014 model. Some 2014’s are LCI and some are Pre LCI. What year is your car?

Hey Grant, i've been researching about the m sport front bumper conversion. I have a 2014 bmw 535i base model. When reading on one of the forums on m sport front bumper conversions, there is this guy who has a whole list of oem parts for his conversion. I don't know if you really need all those parts to make it happen or is it necessary to have all those parts to make the conversion possible. What other parts did you use with the front bumper conversion?
I really didn’t purchase much, other then the grilles for the lower section and fog deletes. I still need to get M-sport headlight washer covers and a tow hook cover. My pieces from the Base bumper don’t sit perfectly on the M-sport bumper.

I have not seen any of the bumpers in person, however I am currently planning on picking up a rear m sport bumper from carparts.com in the future. I purchased my lower grill and lower grill bracket from this site and the quality was great.

Did your 535i come with Active Shutters? And if so do you ever see them open?
I swapped my base bumper to an M Sport bumper like yours and wondering if it affected the Active Shutter function
No. I thought mine were active shutters, but they were not. I actually just removed them last week.
Yo Grant, Great Upgrade...motivating! Did your car give you an error when you decided not to reconnect the fog lights and ultimately delete them?
No error, because my fog lights are still connected. They are tied up behind the bumper.
Did you have to change the absorber for the bumper to fit ?
I didn’t change mine out. I persuaded it to fit.

paint looks really good! sorry if i missed it in the video but where did you get the paint used from? & was it a can or paint-gun? also paint color? haha sorry for all the questions, last one tho. how difficult was it to swap over the parking sensors?

Parking sensors are the easiest part. Paint was just from a can I had mixed at my local Oriellys. Didn’t feel like breaking out the old paint gun.
Did you paint any fenders or hood to “color match” or “blend” shops or just the bumper ? Looks good
I only painted the bumper. Yeah, an actual body shop would have blended all the panels, but I’m not that skilled. Lol.

Lol! Hopefully I can keep it undamaged. Yeah, I painted the cross bar a few months back, it’s just really hard to see with the vents.
Where did you get your paint as you didn’t mix or use a paint gun. I need to re paint my m sports front bumper because of rock chips.
Actually, I just use the local Orielly's Auto parts. It depends on the location, but some are Paint Specialists. I've also used Automotivetouchuppaint.com and have had really good results.
Where can I get the lower center grill for my 535i m sport??

Yes, My bumper is from a 2014. I didn't make any adjustment to the car to fit the bumper.
I have a f10 525d (2014) will my grills also fit in this bumper and does the bumper fit the 525d?

I bout my center grill from Carparts.com. The Kidney grill I got of Aliexpress.

No. the 2010 535i is an E60. This front bumper will only fit F10's.
I have a 2013 535i I’m new to German cars I’ve been gm fan for a long time I’m wondering what year bumper will fit on my bmw ?
My bumper is from a LCI 2014. You can use anywhere from a 2011 to a 2017.

I didn’t. I used the stock bracket I had for my Non m sport bumper, however I have a buddy that just bought his M-sport bumper and he is being told to use a M sport bracket. Not sure why?

Hey Grant, had a question for you. I recently saw a video of you replacing the valve cover gasket with a NON OEM one and was curious as to how it has been holding up for you. Any leaks? PCV valve work fine? Any issues?
I haven’t had any issues at all with this valve cover. It is great quality and has held up great. At this point, I have put around 12k miles on it.

What you did with foglight wiring?
My Foglight bulbs are still installed. The wiring is tied up behind the bumper in case I decide to add Foglights at a later time.
Damn when u had the bumper off you should of painted the V rack ...i thinks that's what's is called ..
Actually, my V brace is already painted it’s just really hard to see. It’s painted to same blue as the calipers. I have another video with the process. The problem is my car has an extra set of vents behind my grills that makes it really hard to see. I’m thinking about removing them.

what rims are those?
They are Style 433 Replicas. Typically found on the M6. Checkout my other videos, I have a full video on the repair and refinish I did. Bought them used for $150 with tires. Then sold the Tires for $75.

Does the m sport rear bumper fit the normal 535i?
Yes it does. I will probably upgrade to the m sport bumper in the future.
Looks amazing! I'm planning on doing the same thing for my '13 535i soon. But do I need to purchase anything else in order to retrofit the M-Sport bumper onto mine? Or can I just buy the bumper cover for it and it'll fit just fine?
That can get tricky, depends on what you are buying. I would look for a bumper kit that comes with all pieces if possible. For me, I had to purchase the lower grill and accompanying bracket. My headlight washer covers don’t fit perfect, but look fine. I have purchased Foglight deletes, but if you want fogs, you may need versions. A buddy of mine said there is actually a bumper bracket that is required, but I didn’t seem to need it. I made my non m sport bumper bracket work.

How do you avoid the scratches on the bottom of the bumper?
I don’t. I typically don’t scratch that often though.

@@josephmgomez3921 Yeah, I touched mine up a few times, but the scratches haven’t been horrible. I’m still thinking about getting a cheap Ebay front lip though. Lol!

@@josephmgomez3921 Probably not. The lip will be slightly lower. So it would likely still hit both.

Did you have to get a different splash guard? I cant find where to bolt the bottem lip of the msport bumper to?
Sometimes when I reverse into a drive way the bottem gets slightly caught on the lip of the sidewalk idk where to bolt it to?
I don’t have a splash guard. My car didn’t come with one. I just picked up some 1/8” metal and I plan to build a skid plate.
