Jessie: your laughing with Lee at 4:32 at his Rabbit/Bad Bunny discovery has to be of THE most wonderful, heartwarming and delightful laughs I have ever seen in a live recording! You are so genuine, sincere and at the same time innocent and universal, it definitely allowed your viewers to share the smiles. Thank you for sharing it, and not editing it out.....your fan, an old ABC.
Puerto Rico is technically an unincorporated territory of the United States. They do not have federal representation in Congress and do not vote for the president, so since they do not have representation, they are not taxed federally, but they still have to follow US federal law. They have had referendums to become the 51st state in the past, but there is much cultural division. Many Puerto Ricans would like to become an independent country while some wish to become a state. Technically, all Puerto Ricans are US citizens, so they have US passports and can move to mainland US without a VISA. And for those who move to mainland US, they then can vote in the state where they live and in federal elections.
The strangest thing is, while they can't vote in Puerto Rico, if they move to the US, they can.
@@brucekaraus7330 I agree. It’s entirely unfair and they, as well as all the other US territories, should have an equal say in elections.
It's funny that some ignorant gop members even tried to deport puerto ricans from the US back to puerto rico.
@@oXPhillyXo Nah only after they become a state or gain their independence, as an American I suggest they gain their independence since that's in the spirit of being an American, also the cultural difference would probably have some effect on politics and that wouldn't really be far
These are actually good for Chinese learning because the dialog is in Chinese, but is about something that everyone is watching, so it’s usually not to hard to follow the conversation (and subtitles for when you miss something). It’s good practice
Omg rabbit/bad bunny 🤣 I was laughing so hard, my tea almost came out of my nose.
This is just the sort of content I am looking for; Chinese language and culture. Thank you very much for this!!
Definitely keep doing this. The subsequent episodes do get a lot better with a fantastic end to the first season.
Just like before, please continue watching and reacting ❤ also all the time my bf and I were saying 他们有文化, I learn a lot from you about the other versions of the story and your boyfriend also surprised us talking about the Puerto Rico situation 😮 because at least here in Jinan, Shandong they have no idea about it, and something extra, as an Spanish speaker, Jin did pretty well singing despacito 😂😂
Chin Han who play's Jin's father was also the villain in the Netflix series "Marco Polo", which Michelle Yeoh was also in.
I love these! Please continue. I’m learning so much !
This is amazing please keep it up!
Listening to Jessie speak Mandarin always brightens my day.
Please continue making this series commentary.. I just love it..
Awesome reaction jessie
I’m Spanish born Chinese. I appreciate the acknowledgement of both my cultures hahaha
Now THAT is interesting!
Keep going please and continue the commentaries on this show, many people including me will definitely watch!
I am fairly old now (50) and I grew up on the badly dubbed Kung Fu movies of the 70s, episode 4 felt like someone my age was in charge, and went for the nostalgia. The nostalgia was nice for me, but it definitely detracted from the focus of the story.
I can't lie though, I absolutely loved the nostalgia 😁
I look forward to you watching the rest of the season!
Puerto Rico is to USA as HK, Macau are to China.
I guess I should watch this movie. I went to San Francisco State University, and half my friends were ABC's. I try not to use the term, even though I learned it from ABC's, and that's what they call themselves. Silly. Funny thing was, when we went to a Chinese restaurant, they would always give the American Born Chinese forks, but us "gringos" (even if Mexican-American) would get chopsticks...
Your accent is easy to understand! I love it!
It may be the translation and actually understanding what they said compared to an American reading the subtitles because the subtitles Americans got did make sense. Bull Demon wanted to tell his idea of Journey to the West and ater getting the chance, failed, so Sun Wukong got up there and told the gods what he thoguht of them, showing confidence while admonishing the gods for looking down on them. Sun Wukong's confidence got him the job while the Bull Demon felt betrayed by the friend who took his title. Eventually Bull Demon lashed out. This is a direct correlation to Jin and his friend. Jin is the Bull Demon. He isn't confident, he lashes out at people and Jin's father does the same at work. Narratively, it works as a parrallel.
Cool stuff, thank you. FYI. I believe Bull fighting is still practiced in Spain and in Mexico...maybe Brazil? The EU tried to get it banned in Spain but corruption is so common in Brussels that was never going to happen. Please carry on... Oh, and there is a current American animation called Gremlins: Secret of the Mogwai which is English language and mostly uses Asian voice actors including Ming Na Wen and, of course, James Hong. In episode 7 or 8 maybe they have some hopping vampire/zombie characters. All good fun.
I confirm that there's still done in Mexico but it's localised to a few cities. Aguascalientes is one of them.
It's illegal here in Brazil, but I don't doubt some people are still doing it. There's also a type of bullfighting called vaquejada that is two cowboys on horses bringing down a bull. Very violent, but it's still legal in many places here
@@corneliahale7871 Cheers. I wasn't at all sure about Brazil, now I am. Thank you.
Tom Hardy and Jared Leto should make appearances in American born Chinese as the vicious vigilante Venom and the living pseudo vampire Morbius
Please keep going!
It's the first time I saw her video instead of UA-cam shots 😂
Bullfighting s not a sport here in Spain, though there're bullfighting organizations that work similar having different "leagues", it's a tradition/cultural thing and falls under the same category as theatre, cinema and other socio-cultural spectacles. It's very ancient dating to the bronze age but the "modern" version started around 1200s
In some countries like Portugal (also in the Iberian peninsula) the bullfighting doesn't require to kill the bull and is mostly about dodging the bull as it charges by jumping about it. Here in Spain there's a movement trying to stop the killing and suffering of the animal but the show is very rooted in tradition, specially on the south, so it's been very hard getting rid of it and still has support from most governments
I also recomend A Rapa das Bestas (shaving of the mares) in the North in where people chase wild horses, lead them into an enclousure to trim their manes and then set them free again till next year without hurting the horses
You two should come to visit America. I would love to see a video. But not in a big city like NY, LA...more just like a regular part of America. I really enjoy your videos!! Thanks for all the great content. ❤
First view
@ChinesewithJessie would you consider reacting to the former-Cinemax, now Netflix series "Warrior", based on Bruce Lee and produced by his daughter, Shannon Lee. Takes place in late 1800s following the Chinese immigration.
Where did your hair curls go? Did the perm not last?
喜歡聽你們看戲聊感想,並加入跟這故事有關的額外知識,但好像聊著聊著便離題了。如果聊的當兒錯過戲裡的故事情節就很可惜⋯⋯
Hello!
Ever considered doing Jown Wick 4? I wonder if the translatiosn are accurate enough.
I like these videos, but I do miss using Lee’s music collection for the background.
I felt the same after watching episode 4, the scenes dragged on and having all the dialogue in Chinese really made their translated and stilted feeling more obvious. I felt like the show for me was best in the first two episodes and there was a lot of potential there. I know many people enjoy the show and I wanted to like it too but it’s just not for me unfortunately.
Please review the Last Emperor film, I would love to see your insight
The grandmaster in Mandarin
马来西亚新加坡和大陆发音相同!
演爸爸的是新加坡演员而演妈妈的是马来西亚演员。
猪八戒是天蓬元帅!
Monkey king / journey to the west is unknown in the West, unfortunately. It's a great show for kids!
The Japanese Monkey TV show was definitely shown in the UK (dubbed version) back in the 1970s.
@@Smoke3723 Wow! How lucky!
Monkey king was referenced a lot in comics and Japanese manga. This was shown later on in the show as well. But people probably didn't know that it's monkey king.
Hey Jessie, I really love your shorts. Very funny videos, that always brighten up my day!😎👍
I also watched some of your reaction to foreigners speaking Chinese videos and I thought it would be cool if you would make one of these reacting to Scor (German rap artist living in Shenzhen).
www.youtube.com/@scor.rapper
He´s a nice guy, who became interested in Chinese culture, studied the language and move to Shenzen. He started really deep down the ladder and became a famous rap artist featured in Chinese casting shows. His lyrics are Chinese and partially German and English.
I have a Chineses colleague, who said that it is hard for her to understand his Chinese, but she is living in Germany now for 8 years.
Live in Spain one year, i still can see bulls on the streets
💕💕 Must be criminal to be so beautiful ❤❤
I would love if you react Yakuza 0 and Yakuza 6 because they have some guys they speak mandarin
When you gonna analyse Julien Gaudfroy's Chinese?
So Puerto Rico is a country but it is a territory of the US. So it is its own country but at the same time has to follow certain laws. It's complicated. Guess you can think of it like Hong Kong when Britain still had claim on it.
Is that movie available in Mandarin? I think my wife might like it ....
It’s a series, and it does have mandarin subtitles in the Disney + plataform
I think there are 2 recent movies (about 1-2 years ago), it's called "新神榜:杨戬” (New Gods: Yang Jian) and "新神榜:哪吒重生” (New Gods: Nezha Reborn)
Sun Wu Kong got appear in one of the movies. Maybe you can do a review about the movie too

(Just a quick introduction, Yang Jian is commonly known by people as Er Lang Shen (二郎神), though they are other version (Zhao Yu (赵昱) and Li Bing (李冰).
Nezha, is the third son of Li Jing (李靖) and the younger brother of Jinzha (金吒) and Muzha (木吒) in the chinese mytology story. In other places such as Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia, Nezha was also known as Lian Hua San Tai Zi (莲花三太子) or Zhong Tan Yuan Shuai (中檀元帅)

A Catholic church is a Christina church, just a specific branch of Christianity. Such as Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormon, aka The Church of Latter Day Saints, Episcopal, etc.etc..
I predict she gonna leave her bf in future. Unless she is depending on him for income or money. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
