That Compton one had me rolling. Lied straight to her face like it was nothin 🤣🤣
hahaha, Me too! so funny. he's slick. quiet and you have to pay attention carefully to Lee. lol these two are so fun.
The way he looked in the camera after 😂😂😂
Lee is low-key hilarious! Compton made me lol
“Low key is the purpose of my life”
My way of living
I like that you cover a broad range of stuff and not just language! It's nice to get some insights and opinions and even just slices of life from China, y'know? It's like meeting someone cool and chatting with them about stuff
And damn Lee's smooth
Haha, I like Lee. He's funny. Good joke delivery
Lee is so well-read. Probably read a lot about Compton too.
Nonzero chance that Lee's a fan of N.W.A.
Compton 💀😂
that got me cracking up
It's so safe
Legit launching inside
我在美国十几年,第一次通过你们的视频知道Compton 哈哈哈哈哈😊
Delighted that you're including the topolect of Jiangxi! And it's very helpful that you include both Chinese and English subtitles. With this help, even with my very rudimentary level of Mandarin, I was able to recognize a few words from your speech.
What you said about Jiangxi tones made me very curious about the tone system. Since you aren't sure how many tones, it makes me suspect that tones might interact with grammar (like Mandarin reduction to neutral tone or syntax-driven Southern Min tone sandhi), and I'm curious now how it works.
I like Lee. He's a true romantic and he was persistent!
I had no idea you guys didn’t live in America! 😂 I swear I thought Lee grew up around black people the way he knew so much about Wu-Tang and rap music in another video. 😂😂 Lee is so funny I hope he can be in more videos
I just finished Educated. It’s a very good book.
And thank you for your channel and work. It’s really helping me improve my Chinese.
Greetings from Shenzhen.
I just watched a bunch of the shorts and a few videos. Jessie you're so clever and funny and a good actress I had to subscribe. You have so much good energy.- Maybe Lee needs to take some vitamins.
This was a really cool idea. Love hearing the different languages.
I love learning about your Jiangxi dialect!
Jessie, your English is so good for someone who never formally learned it! I wish my Chinese was as good as your English - but I guess that’s why I’m watching your videos! 😂😂
He has great taste in music! Black star and A tribe called Quest 👌🏼
I love your dialect it sounds sooo pretty! 😍😍
Your Cantonese is very good like your English! Excellent work!
Are you using music from the game "Chinese Parents" in this video? Loved that piece, very pleasant.
I would have bet money you studied English overseas, your English great.
INFP is the best personality
0:50 its very interesting that Cantonese sounds very similar to southeast asian countries, namely vietnamese and a liiiiiitle bit of thailandese. ( this comes from my very rudimentary knowledge of the three languages, but i at least can differentiate most asian languages from each other due to how they sound )
I love this video. As a recent Cantonese learner who has learned Mandarin off and on I really enjoyed this. I definitely prefer Cantonese over Mandarin and wish I started long ago with Cantonese instead of Mandarin.
Can I ask you why you prefer canto? I'm learning Mandarin but Cantonese sounds really interesting, maybe I'll start learning it one day
@@r0mashka23 Mandarin, although most common, is also the most modern form of Chinese. Cantonese, while being spoken a lot, is an older form of Chinese and overall sounds better in my opinion.
@@cccEngineer oh I see, thanks for your response, have a great day 💕
Lee's sarcasm is killing me. 😂
hello! I just want to say your videos are amazing! 💕💕
.. I am the first comment. !
这江西话真的太亲切了,本江西九江人听着是无障碍的😢,一直以为博主是有留过学的,英语说得太好了😭
The way Jessie speaks Cantonese sounds like Hong Kong actors/actress speaks Mandarin in the movies/drama. Lol... 8:01 Jessie's face when Lee straight up troll her...
jaingxi dialect sounds like a blend between mandarin and cantonese...more towards mandarin but yeah, certain parts made me thought she was speaking cantonese..like the word 想法 in jiangxi dialect sounds pretty much the same as the same word in cantonese.
I never thought I'd see lee talk about Compton
好钟意你用三种Chinese 来给听众们更了解中文,方言 还有你俩的生活和故事😍😁😄 好有趣!
我非常喜欢这个 ❤❤❤ I like this so much
I feel like Jessie must have studied or spent time abroad in some English speaking country to speak English so well.
I thought Lee might be more of a fan of classic rock of the 60's and 70's since he knows so much history of the era .
very sweet video. what got you to be a producer? what got lee to make music?
Jianxi dialect is so cool! I think it’s needs more recognition
Lee has to do his own music-themed UA-cam channel!🎶
Is it 3 Chinese languages or dialects?
Love how Lee is always so chill..
"Languages" vs "dialects" is mostly a political thing. For example, India is split into states, so they call it languages. China's central government has more power, so they call it dialects.
The line I toss out is "a language is a dialect with an army and a navy". As a counterpoint to Chinese's mutually unintelligible Cantonese and Mandarin, Swedish and Danish *are* mutually intelligible...but shared history means the first two are dialects, and separate history means the last two are languages.
@@kylekonop4801 Danish and Swedish are both North Germanic languages, so there has to be some shared history there, right?
@@dkhl65 Some, certainly, but a few centuries as separate nations means that they speak different *languages*, not different *dialects*.
Languages, by all objective measures, untarnished by centralized imperialist politics.
Does Lee have a UA-cam channel for his music?
Everyone should listen to Company Flow Funcrusher Plus! really good album nice taste Lee
Lee is so funny he makes me laugh out loud at my phone in public
like how you used the word “meh” HAHAHA singaporeans fav singlish word 😂
3:39 LOL that WHOOP was so funny XD
@Chinese with Jessie nice to see a new perspective point of view of China spoken culture...
I just wanted to let you know that WE who want to learn more about Chinese Cultures and mandarin speaking, it’ll be really helpful to keep seeing these videos. So please keep letting your teaching ways coming at us at half speed 😅 👌🏼 it’ll be a lot understandable. Thanks for everything Jessie you rock girl
😙💋❗️
这个发型爱了爱了
The second Lee said compton is safe, I had to pause and see the comments 🤣
我没到过江西,但是Jessie的江西话我基本能听懂,因为我已经会好多种“方言”,Jessie讲的像是我懂的3种方言的混合体。
Beautiful 😍
Wow ur cantonese is so good for the time uve been learning it. Better than most ABCs or children of immigrants already
Is your jiangxi dialect hakka? Or related to hakka? I can somewhat understand some words
Compton 😂😂
I cannot believe you didnt study english abroad! Wow!!
The disinfect cabinet. I know this one! You use it by storing your plates n stuff in there and never even plug it in.
The disinfection cabinet book 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
你好姐姐Jessie, 我是小妹妹Amelia. I love your nice videos on UA-cam, but I dare you to do "Can Jarrad Seng Speak Chinese?!" please? Plus he's the Australian Photographer and Australian Survivor's contestant too. 🙏🙏
嗯 你個廣東話真係好好喎-!
Your English is better than my Mandarin 😅
thanks for saying chinese languages
他很幸運,我觉得你还是太out of his league 哈哈
不过说真的,我很希望你以后可以出一集专门讲解你那边的方言的一次video吧
好像江西內部也存在著蠻多互通性很低的方言,那麼「江西話」也是是個比“語言”要宏觀、龐大的概念的吧
ONLY 300,000?! As someone from a town with a population of just over 5,000 that's A LOT! 😢
Which city is Lee originally from?
Oh I have the same personality type as Lee.
Lee is so funny lmao 😂
Jiangxi sound like cantonese and Mandarin combined together.
is your Jiangxi dialect a part of the Gan Chinese (赣语) variety?
Lee being infp-t is so fitting haha
Jiangxi dialect sounds a bit like Hakka!
Yeah some people have told me that too!
NO IT DOESN'T. STOP SAYING THAT.
(Hakka speaker)
Jessie 没去过美国留学,英语怎么这么地道啊。
i can understand some jiangxi dialect because my dad is from jiang xi but i’m not good😅
“Low is the purpose of my life”
I’ve never related so hard
Do cantonese and madarin people then undertand each other?
Some people can understand, some people can't, I guess it depends on their personal background and interests.
No.
As far as I know UA-cam is not allowed in China, so how did you become a UA-cam creator?
Lee is all into Gangster Rap and wild women, but low key is the purpose of his lif. Compton is the safest place in America. LOL
LEE TROLLING PEOPLE WITH FACTS BOUT COMPTON
Not Campton 😅
wow! you are from JiangXi? I thought you are orginal Hong Kong people, I saw your location is Hong Kong haha. 江西的妹妹都好漂亮,不是开玩笑的.
!我是上饶的😢😢
我好jealous啊啊啊啊啊
江西话听起来是一种几种介于方言中间的方言
Im infjjjj tooo ❤ but who cares lol
老饼 🤣
"I didn't really notice when you just came." No man wants to hear that, you know.
he always look so emotionless, while u are the complete polar opposite.
吉安人。请见谅❤
Is Jessie mixed?
It’s also possible that she just curled her hair.
Jessie的家乡话好像是客家话的一个片区吧?--from 一个有浓重客家人血统却不会说任何客家话的成都人
非也
Jessie 是不是奉新您?一听就是奉新。好恰噶!
不知道是不是習俗,還是只有我家是這樣,只要成年了,就不會拿到紅包了,還有生完小孩之後也是。
I dunno, but the dude who invented those characters must have been in a really rough mood that day, probably thinking by himself let's fuck this one up real bad.
The word "book" in Cantonese is actually pronounced as "she" as in the English pronouns she/her, not "shu"

but i GUESS it's hokkien? I have no idea I only speak mando.
Yes, that is Taiwanese (台語), which is a variety of Hokkien.
贛語將近越語,也有點像吳語,真的不像大家所云的客語
Nope.. can’t understand jiangxi dialect lol
There is only one Chinese language. And that is Mandarin. The others are called dialects. 😂😂😂
That is not true. The oldest dialect of all is Hokkien, if you want to consider it as the first language in the ancient China. It then evolved into Cantonese. There is a way to prove that Mandarin came after. If you read the ancient poems, the characters do not rhythm fluently in Mandarin. Just because Mandarin is used primarily in China nowadays, that doesn't make other ones dialects and making Mandarin the only 'Chinese'. The same applies to the writing systems as well. You don't call 'Simplified Chinese' being the only system while completely ignoring 'Traditional Chinese'. Chinese is just a general term. Simplified Chinese only came in less than 80 years ago. It was around that time when people in mainland China were being forced to practice Mandarin. That doesn't mean Mandarin only existed 80 years ago.
There is another way to learn that 'Chinese' is just a general term. According to the Hong Kong government, the official languages and writing systems are English and Chinese. However, it doesn't explicitly describing which Chinese dialect or Chinese writing are the official ones. Therefore, any Chinese dialects or Chinese writing systems can be considered as official.
terrible trolling 0/10
在美国呆了很多年,感觉都不如你们看起来了解美国电影 哈哈哈哈哈哈
