@@Bandforge Well, “plan” is a strong word. More like vaguely considering it. But I always mod my guitars, so I have a hot rail coming in the mail for my modded to death American strat. It used to be a highway one, but I was a teenager once, so it’s been refinished and rewired.😊 But anyways, I’d just love to see your take on a kit build. It’s just fun to see how people approach finishing and such😌

It's very kind of you to give us such wonderful feedback! :D The amp I was mainly using before buying the Simplifier is a Jet City Amplification JCA50. It's a design by Soldano, built in China. Basically it's the same circuit as the Soldano Hot Rod without the manual channel switch in the front. Don't ask me why, but I always seem to misplace the channel switch. That's why I took the worst cable I own and bridged the tip and sleeve of the jack plug with a paperclip and secured it in place with some tape. With this cable plugged in, I get the clean channel, without it, I can run the crunch channel. It's the perfect solution for recording… ;)
Hi! I love your channel and I love Teles too! I have a sunburst Te-20 from 2018, I love it because it made me fall in love with guitars and Teles but it has some quality issues.. but that's ok.. I also have an Affinity, MY2020, which I love, and I recently got a TE-52, that one is very special too! Now I think I am going to build my next one out of a Harley Benton kit, as a learning platform for modding etc.. Don't worry about quantity of content, you make quality videos and I really like your kin character! Have fun, whatever you do! Cheers from Greece!

@@Bandforge Bitte schoen! :-) (keine umlaut, leider! :)) Well, I would say I have to replace or file down the nut slots (no experience whatsoever 😀 ) and ideally I would replace the pickups... But, if I am honest, I would rather spend any free time (apart from learning to play the guitar) to assemble the kit, just for kicks, rather than engage in doubtful upgrades (today I read some comments in Thomann's website that upgrading a TE 20 is not that easy..).. Anyway, if you liked the Te-20, it is worth giving the TE 52 more than a shot.. After that, it will be difficult to play anything inferior, be it an Affinity or a Te 20... Give it a try if you are tempted.. quality is much more consistent than with Squier nowadays.. Cheers, and thanks for offering to help! 😊
@Anthony 147 I was planing to replace the nut on my Affinity which shouldn't be too hard. Maybe this could help a bit. I didn't dare to file a nut until now, though… Always too scared of filing too deep! The TE20 is not the easiest to upgrade because of the non compatibity with Fender parts. You can't replace the pick guard, for example. Other than that, I'm sure that one would be able to find a replacement pickup but I'll look into things with more detail. ;) Would you like to change anything on the kit then, while assembling?
@@Bandforge I am very tempted to throw in a Wilkinson bridge with compensated saddles, it should be the simplest of mods and also make a sound difference - I am also planning on a string - through body, I just got to drill the holes.. I'll give the pickups a chance to prove themselves and also check how well the nut is cut. But first I got to get delivery of the package, hopefully sooner rather than later 😊 But, yeah, I'd be interested to see how to replace a nut. My Te-20 would definitely benefit, the kit most likely too..!

I wanted to do this on my 2020 Affinity but I didn't try it in the end. There are many helpful videos available, I think, just make sure to take your time! ;)
