Episode 52: Turner Beach Shell Piles! Captiva Island! 🏝 (and, CARRIER SHELL!)

- Turner beach is SO FUN! Not only is it consistently a fantastic place for shelling, but it's also a great place for wildlife, and to find different kinds of shells that aren't as common on the East end of Sanibel. Due to dredging and the deep waters, this beach also provides the opportunity to find more rare shells such as alphabet cones, scotch bonnets, lions paws, flat scallops, Junonia, and CARRIER SHELLS which you will see in this episode! Happy Shelling! 🐚

Hi Dianne! I don't have a lot of whole flat scallops, horse conchs, and shark eyes. They seem to be more uncommon these days.
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate your support!
Great clarity and color on the pictures today! Love those itsy bitsy teenie weenie shells still!!! Are you going to start up the boxes again? Do I need to do anything to get mine started again?? {{shelling hugs}}
Hi Lisa! I was hoping to have boxes started again Oct 1 but between my website builders being behind and the hurricane it's looking like it won't be until Nov. I'm working on it and will send out an email as soon as I have them up and ready to subscribe to again! Thanks so much for your support!

I was there a couple weeks ago and the darn no-seeums were HORRIBLE! 😖 I'll be going back after Ian goes through... 😉
Hi Jodie! Yes the no-seeums are bad, I do have a fabulous itch relief if you need it! Thank so much for watching!
I would have had a field day
Laura, just checking in on you. The damage on Sanibel that I am seeing is bad. You are one of the people that I am worried about. Can you let us know you're okay? Praying you are okay and my heart goes out to all of South West Florida
Thanks so much for checking in, I'm good and have been posting updates in our Facebook group:

I saw a light pink it looked like a flat just to the right of when you found the little limpet. I was visiting there (from TX) just a couple weeks ago around Labor Day on my 50th birthday trip I gifted myself… first time ever in SWFL. I found so many adorable minis. I got several mini true tulips and a mini pear whelk and lots of other cool minis. I got some really nice turbos too. I wish I could go back already!!! Someday!
Happy belated birthday!!!! I hope you had a shelltastic trip!
Do you ever find little pieces of red coral in Florida?
No that isn't native to our area
Do you ever fine lion paws
Some shellers do but I have never found one, on my bucket list! I have found a couple fragments though, getting closer! Thanks for watching!
