Hi Laura! You know I love me some Dickmans Point!!! I will be there in about 7 wks, can't wait. You were the first person I ever saw shelling on Dickmans years ago and I fell in love with it. Already got some shelling tours booked. I'm so excited!!! I will text you my dates so maybe you can squeeze a tour in if it fits your schedule. Have a great weekend!!💖 Hugs!

Thank you, Laura for taking us along! It was fun! I didn't know you could take the horseshoe crab apart like that, thank you for that information. Have a glorious day!

Thanks for a great virtual shelling. I especially like the comment about getting overwhelmed with so many shells there...what a wonderful thing!!

at 2:23 in muddy pools there is a much higher chance that bivalves are still intact. The shells tend to be of higher quality, because muddy areas are less rough than the open sea currents with lots of shell grit.
At 7:00 maybe you need to go to East Florida for this, but try to find Conus delesserti (aka Conus sozoni). It is one of the most beautiful cone species on the planet, and can grow larger than 3". And don't forget the albinos, and even rarer: the sinistral shells from dextral species (or dextral shells if it is a Lightning Whelk)
