CLASS 40 DIAMOND JUBILEE - A CELEBRATION OF THE BR CLASS 40s

Class 40 Diamond Jubilee celebrates the Class 40's 60th anniversary in 2018. This film centres around the 60th anniversary 'Diamond Jubilee' gala that was held on the East Lancs Railway in April 2018 featuring six of the seven survivors including D200 / 40122, 40012 Aureol, D213 Andania, 40106 Atlantic Conveyor, 40135 and 40145. We also see Class 40s on the main line, as well as on other preserved lines such as the Swanage Railway. #Class40

Nice locos I remember them as a very young child in 1978 I was about 6 listening to them on shed on guide Bridge traction depot near ashton under-Lyne North Manchester! There was always a few 40s chirping away to each other on tick over plus the class 76s that was on the stabling points! Go there now and there ain't even a gronk class 08 shunter there sadly!!!

Of all the years watching 40s Ive only just noticed the traction motors noise. To preoccupied with the whistle obviously.

Were the BR Green versions ever wrap around? Surely only the rooftops were silver? Did they deserve the nickname Casserley gave them/ Something akin to "Stinky" or "Smelly" as I recall.
