No doubt that trucker is a hero. But this video just leaves me with unanswered questions:
How much visibility did the RV really have of the oncoming truck? Were both drivers obscured from one other by a crest in the highway? Is there an "intersection ahead" warning for oncoming traffic?

AMEN, and I say this as the owner and driver of a 35 ft motorhome as well as one who tows a 27 ft travel trailer with an SUV. I think there should be mandatory training given to drivers or you have to show proof of previous training in order to buy one and yes, I'd go through that myself should it ever be enacted. The driver of this one clearly didn't pay attention to the length of their rig, plus towed, and didn't think that with rigs like this, you cannot make a left over a divided highway the same way you would in a car. There is NO hovering in the center because there's no room to do so safely, as we've just watched.
Why do I have two rigs? Because I just bought the motorhome in October and haven't sold the trailer and SUV yet. We're thinking we're going to keep that one for Burning Man because there's NO way I'm taking the motorhome there. LOL

I do Stepdeck & flatbed. Yep, have to really watch the motorhomes & travel trailers. Box trucks & any kind of rental.
The old guys in the motorhomes & travel trailers are really dangerous. They think because they drove to work all of 4 miles in one direction. In a car for 30-40 years, no accidents.
It automatically qualifies them to drive something much bigger. No required training.
I see countless remnants of wrecks of motorhomes & travel trailers daily. Sometimes right after, ambulance & or helicopter picking up injured & dead.
Both motorhomes & travel trailers disintegrate. Nothing but little pieces all over.
Since the motorhomes disintegrate. At least one occupant dies.
Pickups pulling travel trailers. Almost always roll. While the trailer disintegrates.
As usual, 100% avoidable. I have seen so many. I really wonder why they do not require driving school like with CDL. They should also have to pass a cognitive test & reaction test.
Most should not be on the road. I tried to talk to one at a rest stop. After he almost caused 3 accidents in as many miles.
He had an arrogant attitude, and a who the hell are you to tell me how to drive sonny. I was 60 years old. He had to have been in his 80's.
Total fucking idiot who had no right to be driving. Since he would not accept that he did anything wrong. Even though 2 cars & one semi that got on their horn. In 3 miles. While giving him some hand signals.
He would not accept he did anything wrong. It was all everyone else's fault.
Stay away from every car, SUV, pickemup, box truck, rentals, motorhomes, travel trailers, semis.
Just stay away from everything. Do not stay in the group of vehicles all tailgating each other jockeying around trying to pass each other. To save a few seconds.Fatal accident waiting to happen.
Since they are usually speeding way over the speed limit. Simply back off. Get way back, be ready to avoid the accident.

Also I don't know about the US, but here in UK that move would be illegal, you're not permitted to cross if you can't clear the roadway (due to length) - you either have to wait for both ways to be clear or drive downstream and do a U-turn at the next junction.

I worked at a Ford dealership. One of these pulled up. It took the old guy 20 minutes to get from the driver seat to the side door. Then another 15 minutes to come down the steps and across to to benches 15 yards away, with his WALKER! He was close to 90.

American trucks actually suck Canadian trucks run all disc brakes on every axle and the US DOT makes them have warning ⚠️ decals on the back stating they stop faster than normal trucks yet the DOT won’t let US trucks run them, I guess because they are too effective and safe? , dammed crime as far as I can see

It's always the responsibility of the driver of a slow, cumbersome vehicle to put the burden on themselves to protect others on the road. This RV driver needed to turn right and go to the next exit or controlled intersection to turn around. Much praise to the truck driver!

Several years ago a friend of mine's father died in a crash when a car pulled out in front of his rig. He tried to avoid hitting the car which would have killed the people in the car. His family was trying to talk him into retiring for a while but he absolutely loved driving and wasn't ready to and his health was very good still. They wanted him to retire because they worried about him and thought he had earned it.

Amazing how people can think a 70,000lb big rig can stop on a dime. Thankfully this was a dry road with plenty a visibility. It took him at least a 500 feet to stop. If this was rainy or snowy road conditions that RV would have been rearranged along with who was in it.
