      bollards ALWAYS win. When installed correctly, there is actually a rebar framing up underneath that actually makes the surrounding concrete mesh reinforce the bollard in place. It's not just putting a pole in a hole in the ground and hoping it will work.

    • @usurp795
      @usurp795 2 місяці тому +3

      Thee comments are so annoying and lacking in brain cells. They are meant to bend on high impact to slow down cars and not do as much damage to the people inside. This truck was trying to climb over it so it's not going anywhere.

    • @_m_K_.
      @_m_K_. 2 місяці тому +2

      @usurp795 I have seen similar pylons/guards bend from passenger cars slowly backing up into them. This is not a freeway, or highway off ramp location. I think you are lacking a brain if you cannot understand how much force is being applied by the truck and the pylons are maintaining their integrity and not falling over.

    Don't judge. He's not stupid, he's exhausted. The trucking industry has one of the highest turnovers in the world. It's estimated that over 91% (!) of new drivers quit in their first year or so due to low pay, poor working conditions, poor training, bullying dispatchers, extreme weather, severe loneliness, little time off, injury, strict regulations that feel like punishments, high competition for work, unpredictable schedules that interrupt sleep patterns, loss of sleep and severe exhaustion you do not understand, all leading up to a profound lack of cognition. I saw a driver backing into a slightly more generously sized dock approach a week ago. I absolutely didn't try to push getting around him, because I saw the long narrow space he had to back into.
      Watching this guy, I realize the dilemma (is it a trend in commercial property?): either property owners need to give proper space to maneuver a 53' trailer, or trucking lines need to make local deliveries in euro-sized rigs.
      I expect neither wants to do either, so it's loggerheads for both, and drivers need to pass camels through the eyes of needles.

    Possibly, at first, the driver thinks the curb is the obstacle stopping his tandems because he/she didn't see the double barrier properly. When the driver realizes the situation, looking down the blind side and sees the 2nd barrier under the trailer and the subsequent damage 0:29 that...MAY be... driver strike #3 with the employer and pending dismissal. So, then just goes all throttle. Getting fired anyway for previous issues. Looks like the situation escalates. When you hear something, anything, that doesn't look or sound right... what do we do fellow truck drivers??... correct - STOP. Or go all throttle for fun!

    Judging by the bouncing trailer I'm thinking he was loaded. With an empty the semi wouldn't struggle to pull it like that even with no wheels.
    I've got 4 million miles in a semi, I know the stress it puts on a driver. Honestly I feel sorry for him

      As a truck driver myself I can sort of feel the tension and stress that the driver is going through. I once turned into a street that my GPS told to turn into and turns out it was a dead end (Stupid GPS 😡) And it was a bloody nightmare trying to reverse out of there with the traffic behind me. I was sweating really bad and heart was pounding 50 times a second.
      People might think that it's only driving but most people don't understand the stress that we truckies go through.

      @@ahmedhamdan2009 you aren't kidding. I used to be an amateur like everyone else. Now I'm one of the best drivers out there when it comes to driving and especially backing. Now I work at usps mostly driving a spotter.

      @@ahmedhamdan2009 we had a guy get directed down an alley in Compton,Ca by a police officer. Turns out it was a dead end and there's no backing a set of doubles up 1/2 mile lol. That was a mess. Plus imagine being a white guy in a pink Peterbilt stuck in an alley in Compton lol
