You got it absolutely right. I don’t think I’ll move into MSFS2024 unless they make an offline mode. What if the internet goes down in a snowstorm? This happens around where I live. And that snowstorm is not necessarily where I live. But internet cuts do happen. I am staying in MSFS2020 until Asobo/Microsoft makes an offline mode. Apart from that, I want the possibility to download my planes and scenery I buy, and not have them in the cloud all the time.
Cloud has definitely some bad sides for sure, but it has some really good sides too. Just recently the stream issues have been overworked quite good, and everything loads very fast. It's not super good yet, but it keeps my hopes up, that this will only get better over time.
Even if the plane is on your local disk, and all weather and scenery (beyond a base layer "ground, no detail") stays on cloud, at least we could "fly" the plane over green grassland cavok while we sort out network issues
@@underleft Asobo saw the fiasco. They can jolly well (as they say in the UK) modify the architecture of the game and I am pretty sure they will gain many more customers. The cloud works when you have internet AND when their end works well of course. This goes both ways. I for one, like many others, fly heavies long distance flights. Who can assure me the 10 hour flight will go well without a crash to desktop, an internet hiccup and end my flight anyways (especially now in winter with a snowstorm) etc… we absolutely need the base world in our computers, like FS2020 has. I’m not going to throw money into a system that I can’t own in my computer because it will fail.
4 days in, I still can't get in to the sim beyond the menu in the UK and that's frankly quite disgraceful now. We're all trying to still be excited, and still trying to be patient but that only goes so far I agree with offline mode - get rid of the cloud, this has proved it doesn't yet work and isn't ready. Similarly they need to give us the option to import our 2020 keybinds into 2024.
Keybind porting isn't feasible. Jorg said that in a interview already, it's 2 different Sims running on new architecture. Additionally, the Caribbean works fine. I've had no issue and I've been able to run the sim anytime in the day with no troubles. Sucks UK has issues
I totally agree with the need for an offline mode. Consider the fact of how many of us have spotty to downright unreliable internet service. The week one rollout in itself should show the underestimated drain on the MS servers. Simply put, give me my toy and let me play with it.
Exactly. In the UK, average speed is 60mb/s, the reviewers have said you need 100mb/s, and usage can spike to 180mb/s. My fairly modern neighbourhood gets 30 down the phone line on a good day.
@@MelodiesAI Yep, they've already said the sim will have this. There's also a community folder you can already put anything into except marketplace purchases and first-party planes.
My guess is that it follows the new way of “you’ll own nothing” mentality. What’s to stop them moving to “pay for updates” or “pay for cloud use” If they don’t give an offline mode, it’s clear they only care about enslaving us to online modes to ensure higher revenues at our expense. Not surprising…eventually all good companies screw the loyal customers who paid and brought them to this point.
Thanks for bringing this up. The online streaming requirement is a no-go for me at the moment, with my slow n' spotty internet access. I'd absolutely love to play 2024 if I could download to run it offline, even if it's Gigs of data and takes a full week to complete. I'll be making cargo runs in 2020 with my little ATR until then :)
An offline mode is absolutely crucial to save the simulator. Even if it’s just for the basic architecture of the simulator like aircraft and basic scenery. The dependency on a fully cloud base is complete lunacy and this example is the perfect reason to show that we are not there yet. Sometime in the future we hope this will be successful, but not today. The idea on paper sounds perfect for everyone, the sadly reality will always come crashing down on us.
Agreed. I think most of us have, or can afford, SSD space enough to download most if not all the required software. And if it takes a whole day to download gigabytes of the stuff then so be it, as least it'll be done.
This is a great response. Sober, considered and free of any drama. And I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughts on the need for offline functionality. Thank you!
I was waiting for a dev to speak up about this. I fully agree with you, I hope there will be an option to download stuff. Its ridiculous that one cannot even create liveries for the default aircraft.
Thank you! I agree, and I will be expressing my opinion through forums and directly. I have to ask the question with every subsequent iteration of a popular game/sim: why redo or completely upend everything that works? They have a blueprint with FS2020. Even 4 years of control settings and muscle memory upended. I’m yet to make a single flight in 3024 because I have to remap all of my controls before I can even take a single flight. This is just crazy. But, the streaming. Sheesh. This means not only do we not own the game after purchasing it, it also means that a server issue can result in global inaccessibility or at minimum, regional players unable to access. This is such a bad idea.
To be honest the loading issue has been overworked quite fast recently. Iam able to load very quickly, and the visuals look great. Definitely not super yet, but I am looking forrqard how it will improve.
I like everything you are about, I do agree with FS24 and I am glad I did not make the purchase yet. I am confident Asobo will work it out though (over time) but enough of that, LOOK AT THE ATARI FERRARI!!!❤
The biggest disappointment for us as users is the reliance on cloud technology, while other issues will be fixed with time, I am willing to carry 500 GB rather than rely on bad technology
@@ESPirits87 I dont mind cloud technology for non essential items like the landscape, terrain, cities, monuments but stuff like aircraft textures and a major part of the airport should remain pulled directly from the hard drive.
They have recently overworked the streaming issues and now it loads a lot faster. So I don't think the technology at its core is bad, it is most likely the capacity that has to be optimized. Atleast iam looking forward to see how this is gonna developing in the future.
You’re supposed to be able to download whatever you want from the library locally but I believe that’s disabled for now because the marketplace is also disabled.
100% - at least being able to download your planes and airports locally would be a huge improvement. Switching to external view and back, then watching your cockpit gauges slowly res back in is a non-starter. Waiting for aircraft thumbnails and liveries to slowly load in when changing planes in the menus is pretty disappointing as well. There's lots of little bad / frustrating UI choices and some really annoying bugs/choices from 2020 that haven't gone away as well, but all of that is fixable, as long as they can move part of the streaming to local content. Also, thanks for a grounded / non-hysterical video ;)
Thank you so much for the update and your constructive opinion on MSFS2024 Just one request for my side regarding future 2024 compatibility: If that‘s not too much extra work, please consider your first 2024 step to be pure 757 compatibility before eventually adding native 2024 features. That would be awesome. I used to have 2020 but don‘t have access to it any longer as some stupid dude out there decided to hack and delete my Microsoft account amongst others.
I agree 100 %, Microsoft are now discriminating against me because I'm limited to low internet speed, I was so looking forward to this evolution didn't realise I would be asking for a refund on day three of release. I think that Microsoft will be resistant to making more content downloadable but in the end will have no choice as problems and negativity will persist.
YES !!! Finally someone mentioning this issue (cloud based). It’s so frustrating to spend hundreds on upgrades in anticipation of this release to be limited now by the number of players at any given time, the possibility of my service provider throttling my speeds, or being throttled by Microsoft themselves. I need it on my drive!!! Please oh please!
I saw somewhere online that 24 is about 2TB which is why they went cloud based, I myself like many others just don’t have an internet connection that is fast enough, I wasn’t intending on getting 24 until next year but now I don’t think I’ll be able to play it anyway.
The downloading of a selected cache region like in FS2020 was perfect for me. I just selected what I wanted to be at various quality levels and download 100Gb of what I wanted. The fps went up substantially and I was happy with that. If FS2024 had this then we could do the same and only use a rolling cache if we roam outside the region previously selected/downloaded. If my internet ever went out then if I could load FS2024 to still play locally in my region that was held locally then it would not be a bother. Right now, if I tried to load FS2024 I would not be able to do a thing.
I honestly hope your upcoming 767 also makes it to MSFS since i don't see myself moving to MSFS2024 anytime soon if ever. Thank you for your video, all the best!
Agree everything you said and thank god release 757 on 2020. I appreciate the efforts that everyone made on 2024 but for me it’s not working and it’s a real pain. It nice when it works but at present it’s a mess and not very usable for me and I have gigabit internet ffs
Thank you for keeping it in 2020! This cloud nonsense will not work period. Especially for people like me that take 3 days to install 2020. The 757 is my favorite aircraft of all time and I cannot go without it. Can't wait for release, you practically already have my money.
Jorg and the crew at asobo is fantastic, their support of 2020 over the years have been great. But I fear the shit Microsoft brings, like ALL aircraft being encrypted so they can’t be modded.
I think there’s no going back on the cloud aspects. I think what we should be campaigning for is the most capable Microsoft backend to support it. If they’re all in on cloud computing (which they same to be), then the servers need to be able to handle much more and reliably to the point we don’t notice the difference
Once the marketplace comes available, there will also be coming the chance to download pretty much everything to your hard-drive and you can actually choose what you want to be downloaded and what streamed. Of course you can't download live data like live weather but I had a look at it and there is pretty much everything from sceneries, tins, aircrafts, animals, etc. This also means that you are not required to download every world update instead you can have them on cloud or disabled if you don't fly around that region.
This is something I should have clarified in the video so I'll take the fault on that one. Yes scenery and planes can be downloaded to be off the cloud.
THANK YOU for bringing awareness to the fact there is no online mode and the game relies heavily on the cloud. If we remember correctly when the Xbox one was first announced it required authentication to play any game and hence required the Xbox to be online, even to launch a game. Remember who won that generation(PS4). I appreciate the cloud, we don’t have petabytes of drive capacity yet; but I had no problem with loading times in 2020, I don’t know where this notion that loading times in the sim where an issue.(maybe just me) the only thing motivating me to upgrade to 2024 is the seasons(laugh at me) and the fact that devs like inibuilds are starting to abandon 2020(probably an incentive from MS). Don’t get me started with the ugly UI. This game feels like the arcade (sims 4) game we all dreaded when they first announced 2020(at least the simmers) thank you for not abandoning 2020 yet! Cheers!
Thank you, I left 2020 mid last year, because it just never worked on my I9-13400/nv-4090 PC. Went to XP-12, and it just works great. I always 95% fly the SSG-747, and it's just a great plane, highly recommended. I have been sim pilot since FS-95, so been doing this a while, huge supporter of MS sims until 2020. I will not waste my money again on 2024.
I knew it would be a very rough start, which is why I didn't jump in on day one. I am gonna wait a little longer so they can get some of the bugs out. Looks amazing!!!
Completely agree with your view on MSFS and the cloud. 2024 needs to be at least the same as 2020. Moving further toward cloud streaming is a poor decision.
I don't agree on that fully. When the cloud system works good, it has a lot of neat benefits. Recently they overworked those stream issues and now it loads very quickly. Which keeps my hopes up that it will become better. Atleast iam looking forward how that is gonna develop.
I would like to download all my planes. I can’t load any of them up to customize them it’s takes too long, I just want to jump in and fly. Once you’re in it’s great but just setting things up at the moment is kind of a faff
The Majority of new games are disappointing at launch. With board members of these companies so addicted to pre-orders, the only way to fight back is to not purchase games until after the first patches post release which will force board members to put pressure on developers to release fully completed and tested games rather than developers spending most of their time wining and dining "influencers" rather than completing their games. I also no longer purchase games that are dependent on servers to play as those servers can be shut down whenever the publisher feels like pressuring customers to buy a newer version. At the end of the day, your money has power if you have patience and know how to use it.
Thank you for voicing your opinion on this, feedback from people like you have a higher standing at Asobo I presume, hopefully they acknowledge the criticisms
Thank you! I wish I had a high standing with MSFS/ Asobo. Until we release a project , they won't really talk to us directly. But I will do my best to voice what I think is best for the sim :)
I play VR and I can see no reason to move to 2024 as performance is apparently a lot worse. I’m happy with 2020 and finally got it all dialled in perfectly. I’ll be buying the 757, the minute it’s released on 2020.
Am a big fan and user of MSFS 2020 finally installed 2024 this evening and WOW runs smooth as silk, graphics amazing, just need to complete the transformation with my VR headset, I can only flightsim in VR. So far so good.
This should have been "Microsoft Flight! v2 - Powered by Microsoft Flight Simulator". We've regressed at least two years with this release and the "core simmer" experience has been sacrificed for the gaming side of things. They should have built this in parallel to 2020, using improvements in flight model, weather etc for both.
Did 2020 even have a fully offline mode? A lot of scenery was streamed, so I don't think it's practical to suggest they offer a totally offline mode, but if they gave us the option to have it like 2020 where we have planes and airports offline, and then just stream the world scenery, I think that would make a lot of sense, and keep the server load down. It would also mean that if something goes wrong with your internet connection during a flight, you could at least finish the flight and land it.
I’m fine with all of the map data being streamed kind of like how it is done in FS2020. However I want all aircraft data and detailed airports saved locally on my drive.
The issue for my as to "why" I haven't made a purchase of 2024 is because of "cloud base". I believe having such a complex and intense graphic game as this depending on the cloud is a "HUGE" mistake. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Thanks for your input.
Offline mode is a priority for the entire community! I don’t see my self simming off of so much support from the cloud. Although I already bought the new simulator I will be primarily using FS2020 until things get resolved. I think we all appreciate the new sim and it will be amazing down the road, just not there yet.
Hi I’m a 2nd year double major in aerospace engineering and software engineering at Stanford and I absolutely love what you guys are doing with the 757 and 767. If you or rather any of the bluebird team would ever like an extra hand on deck I would love to get involved, unpaid and no catch of course. Let me know!
Totally agree that there should be the option for offline functionality. Personally, i don't really have a problem streaming the real world scenery, but i would much rather have the airports and aircraft on my SSD drive. I mean, if the scenery can't stream in and has to fallback to some sort of basic "default" scenery, that's one thing, at least i can still fly. But if a plane won't load in, well - there is no flying then! I can understand some users who can't afford larger SSDs or X-Box users with limited drive space will reap the benefits from keeping everything online, which is why i think it needs to be an OPTION, but for someone like me with several TB of SSD space, it would be an option i would definitely take advantage of as there is no advantage in that case with having it all online only. Further, if they did that add that option, it might lower server demand, making it likely that those who would benefit from keeping everything online would see less service interruptions as well...
The career flightplanning and fuel calculations have a 100% failure rate. It is astonashing to have a 100% anything. But they managed to do it. It just tells me that they have not even flown one complete flight in career. Otherwise they would have noticed😂
Could we have some information on the development of the 787 that would be really cool, i thank the bluebird team in advance for the work. All my support.
“You spent your money on storage? Too bad because you’re gonna have the same experience as someone with no actual income, but has access to an xbox. Lol.” -Microsoft
I agree. They should have delayed the initial sim launch until the marketplace download content is available. They've rushed it and jinx it so bad. Right now, developing for MSFS 2024 is like a dog chasing its tail. There will be many bug fixes in the future that will make any developer lose their sanity. On the other hand, MSFS 2020 is in a much more mature state, and developers are somewhat more comfortable with it. It also has a four-year lifespan.
I think the biggest problem with the sim is that the marketplace was delayed which could be the reason why its not possible to download a lot of our addons and core components of the sim
Hi there. It's way too early to make a firm comment on that one. We'll keep everyone updated when we make a decision but it won't be for several months.
I think the all in the cloud thing is the future anyway. It‘s naiv to believe it isn‘t. All they need to do is increase capacity and reliability and also allow you to download crucial stuff. The explained it well that there is no other way to keep increasing the amount of data.
You can't even disable marketplace addons. Many of which are designed for 2020 and broken in 2024 but you are forced to have them "streamed" with no option to disable them
Yeah. Tried it, I was a bit disappointed because they said it would be faster than 2020 due to it being lighter. I guess they only catered this to people who use Elon Musk's internet connection.
They already mentioned that it will be possible to download packages via the library so you dont have to stream it. Ok that doesnt mean that you really can play offline. Could you on msfs2020?
Mine loads but it’s so full of glitches. I could barely get past my first “first flight” in career mode. Landing challenges are almost impossible, I.e. no throttle control, extreme turbulence etc.
100% agreed and something I have been saying. I am the President of Delta Virtual VA, so have lots of contacts. I'll spread this video and recommendations!
You aren’t wrong. But I don’t think they can X-Box it without the cloud stuff. This is America, well into the 21st century, and any game or simulation developer that wants serious traction in the most lucrative market needs to go console or go home. I recently bought a new stick with twist rudder because I had to leave my pedals behind in the move from the basement to the living room. Out of the box it was set up for X-Box. The handwriting is on the wall. So, all this cloud stuff (and the multithreading etc. which marginalized the processor I bought for MSFS 2020) is 1) brilliant if they can make it work and 2) not in my best interests. What I expect is that the devs will be much more focused on X-Box issues than PC issues. So I would not expect effort on stand-alone features for MSFS 2024. What I would hope for is a commitment to maintain MSFS 2020, and some work on cross-platform compatibility between the two versions. I have not downloaded MSFS 2024 yet (waiting for the drama to die down). I will probably buy MSFS 2020, because. . . Why not? The real cost is computer hardware and peripherals, the cost of the sim is chump change. And if Microsoft cuts 2020 adrift the community will probably keep it alive.
Thanks for the response. You make some very valid points. The X box market is a huge part of the community now. However it also depends on the developer and what market they are aiming for. We are aiming for the PC users with the features and depth of the 757/767. However, we will still make an X-box version for both planes but with certain features removed because they are not supported. Some devs can only run on the PC. In the long run, I really want FS2024 to succeed for both PC and console users.
About the cloud thing; if the real planes need the solidity of ARINC429 connections inside the plane, then why not devout our efforts, as an industry to have everything about the simulation be as solid as ARINC429? TCP/IP doesn't cut it.
Let’s see what happens I bought a beautiful $ 2800 dollar computer for 2024 but had my doubts about the online idea since nothing else cloud based works very well all the time! At least my 2020 is screaming with the new computer--lol !
Basically every single game these days is cloud based.. and they have WAY more users. Once Microsoft gets their stuff together and allocates a lot more servers for MSFS, it should be fine.
My opinion is who the hell asked for this. Microsoft spent years getting 2020 to where it is now very stable very reliable with a ton of really good third-party content. Why throw that all away and restart with a new simulator why not just update the existing SIM and build on that because as far as I’m concerned, I don’t think there’s enough in this new simulator to warrant a brand new Sim. The career mode could’ve been an optional paid DLC and they could’ve just reworked and optimized the sim for better textures and performance.
fun game if you can get into the server. I want a game that I can play when I want and not sit staring at a load screen. i wouldn’t waste money on this.
Get rid of the cloud.. it ruins the game in my opinion. And as a flight sim user I’m 110% okay downloading 150GB. This isn’t new to us, the cloud is crap and needs to go, or at least give us the download option. Plus there’s quite a bit of bugs a lots of texture issues. That all said great video and I 100% agree with you. Hopefully changes come.
150 GB? If they were to "get rid of the cloud" you'd have to download 2.5 petabytes. Good luck with that. It wasn't possible even in MSFS 2020. It's astonishing that people who say "get rid of the cloud" pretty literally don't understand what it means.
No ai pilot and maps not loading is a disappointment I know they can add this and yes shit on me for using Ai pilot but I like it for sigh seeing and getting good photos but I do like the game in the like 20 minutes I could play it’s a nice game I love it just wish they could add and fix it a little faster
FS2024 is a pile of garbage, I got mine refunded and won't go anywhere near it till it's fixed (which I expect will take a very long time). It does not cater to simmers at all, more to those who want an arcade toy. Sure, some of the eye candy is nice but not a big enough selling point to upgrade from FS2020. Sadly this is going to go down as one of Microsoft's disaster products.
There was a single issue...server overload on day one. A single issue that was fixed for many the very next day. I haven't experienced anything else people complained about, nothing major. I been flying in free flight for hours on end the past few days. Right now 24 has already been more stable then 20. It's really ludicrous how people just complained over and over without even providing the facts. Some UA-camrs have been the worse, click bait thumbnails and titles with rant approaches just to get views. Low class to project all this hate and negativity around the sim for views. I suggest people unsubscribe to those type of channels that took that approach. Sadly this seems to be a trend on UA-cam with many new game releases and it's gotten worse. Those people running channels like that are not to be trusted. So do not let them ruin this great sim and hobby for you all.
I agree that most youtube content I've watched on this hasn't even been made by people actually being interested in simulating aviation at all. I can't take content seriously seriously showing "pilots" with costly gaming rigs and streaming setups who then "fly" from virtual POI pole to pole spread across the scenery constantly using external view with the gaming "HUD" overlay while "piloting" with an Xbox gamepad. Greed dictates MS/Asobo cater too much for an audience not even aiming for simulation.
“I have a sandwich; therefore, world hunger doesn’t exist.” Reality is games like this create situations in which a consumer is incapable of truly choosing when they can and cannot play. I have had experiences like yours as in, the game played pretty well, but other times… well… the game will literally just sputter as if I was playing on CPU integrated graphics with hamster wheel internet speeds. Top notch internet with a top notch PC means nothing with a game like this. Beyond anti-consumer and I am sure most who see the bigger picture with cloud nonsense would agree besides videogame addicts and those who function to only consume.
I don't think many really understand why FS2024 is so dependent on the cloud. The installation of MSFS2020 had passed 400 Gigabytes without any addon. Taht's over twice as much as the biggest game on the market. That is not sustainable long-term if they want to continue evolving the simulator and provide free content to their users on a regular basis. They already said aircraft and similar content will be downloadable, but that's very likely as far as they're going to go and as far as they *can* go. Yes. It is naive to ask otherwise. This is not a decision they took for no reason and for those who have been paying attention, Jorg hasn been mentioning the issue of install sizes and the fact that they needed to take a radical approach to unlock more progress for over 2 years. It's not something they're going to revert just because any number of people are having a knee-jerk reaction to a few days of server issues which are already getting much, much better. They should focus on improving and optimizing what they have instead of wasting time and resources with half-measures that will only hold the sim back. I'm sorry, I appreciate your work a lot and I'm excited for your aircraft, but I believe the messaging of this video is misguided and not really that constructive.
MSFS2020 is definitely not 400 gb. I have a bunch of addons and mine is less than 200. A lot of people have extra space on an ssd that they could install this game on, but internet that’s fast enough for MSFS 2024 is not cheap.
I think the main issue is that while 2020 was too big (up to 400GB) the direction that they took for 2024 was the opposite. Really what should have been done is to have the sim around 150-200GB, which consists of all the core components, aircraft etc. Then have stuff like world updates as cloud based which would save 150GB. Having most of the core components in the cloud is just to far of a change in my opinion, not to mention a lot of people in countries outside of Europe or North America dont have access to higher speed internet required to play 2024, unlike 2020.
The Problem is when Jörg and Asobo won’t exist anymore for what ever reason and there is one guy that wants to shut down MSFS because it is too expensive to run the infrastructure or there is not sufficient cash coming in any longer with this game they shut it down like every other game and like they did in the past already. This would not only affect FS24 but also FS20. I’ve never been a big fan of this approach. It’s quite risky… You remember this one: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aces_Game_Studio This is why I love XP. And if they succeed in implementing a new scenery engine using procedural AI based on available topographical data I truly believe XP will be superior. So bluebird sim it’s time to head over to XP…😉😎
So, everything comes to an end. I don't think any of us imagine Asobo or the MSFS servers being up and running in 20 years. What we have now is to be enjoyed today while it's here. However you have to remember that there's money to be made in flight sim, and wherever the playerbase is is where the money will be. What that means is while MSFS 2020, 2024, etc are all shuttered and their servers shut down, all of us will be playing whatever is the premier simulator by then. No one will want to play this game by the time the servers are shut down, and, that will be precisely why the servers will be shut. And so I say all of this to say don't worry, because we'll always be playing the best version of flight simulator - whatever that version may be.
@@mammid9622not everyone needs eye candy, plus there are scenery packs to fix that (much like what people want with 24 so they aren't reliant on asobo and microsfts bs
@@raymarshall6721 It will outlive 2020 and 2024, yes. Though by that measure those games will also outlive you and I. But what's the point? Why be stuck with a forever sim when you can just update to whatever is the game of that era? Nothing lasts forever and the reason these games perform so well is people rightfully chase the best fidelity and feeling of flight, over the assurance of being able to play an outdated sim on their deathbed.
Just wanted to commend you on your video title. No clickbait, no gimmicky title, no dramatic caps lock. Nice and simple. All the best.
Thank you! I am not a fan of clickbait and will never use it. Very annoying to say the least.
The only clickbait was the thumbnail hehehe the screenshots of the 757 were extremely spicy and I look forward to flying it in the new sim!!!
You got it absolutely right. I don’t think I’ll move into MSFS2024 unless they make an offline mode. What if the internet goes down in a snowstorm? This happens around where I live. And that snowstorm is not necessarily where I live. But internet cuts do happen.

I 100% agree with what you said about needing the option of downloading parts of the sim.
4 days in, I still can't get in to the sim beyond the menu in the UK and that's frankly quite disgraceful now. We're all trying to still be excited, and still trying to be patient but that only goes so far
I agree with offline mode - get rid of the cloud, this has proved it doesn't yet work and isn't ready.
Similarly they need to give us the option to import our 2020 keybinds into 2024.
I'm in Australia and haven't experienced any major issues going by a lot of comments in various forums the uk seems to be having the worst issues
Keybind porting isn't feasible. Jorg said that in a interview already, it's 2 different Sims running on new architecture.
Additionally, the Caribbean works fine. I've had no issue and I've been able to run the sim anytime in the day with no troubles. Sucks UK has issues
@@markcoyle5508that’s because our internet is disgraceful.
@BritishAvgeek - you could try using a VPN and setting it to Ireland or Belgium. Worked orite for me
Agreed
I totally agree with the need for an offline mode. Consider the fact of how many of us have spotty to downright unreliable internet service. The week one rollout in itself should show the underestimated drain on the MS servers. Simply put, give me my toy and let me play with it.
Exactly. In the UK, average speed is 60mb/s, the reviewers have said you need 100mb/s, and usage can spike to 180mb/s. My fairly modern neighbourhood gets 30 down the phone line on a good day.
They did say that you will be able to download the assets in the QNA a long time ago
@@MelodiesAI Yep, they've already said the sim will have this. There's also a community folder you can already put anything into except marketplace purchases and first-party planes.
My guess is that it follows the new way of “you’ll own nothing” mentality. What’s to stop them moving to “pay for updates” or “pay for cloud use”
If they don’t give an offline mode, it’s clear they only care about enslaving us to online modes to ensure higher revenues at our expense.
Not surprising…eventually all good companies screw the loyal customers who paid and brought them to this point.
Starlink
I bought and installed a 4tb SSD just for msfs24 in advance of its release
This is a great response. Sober, considered and free of any drama. And I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughts on the need for offline functionality. Thank you!
I was waiting for a dev to speak up about this. I fully agree with you, I hope there will be an option to download stuff. Its ridiculous that one cannot even create liveries for the default aircraft.
The most constructive video about msfs2024 amidst all the entitlement that's going on otherwise
Well you just confirmed my decision to stay with 2020!
For me it works better because of Cloud technology.
Extremely excited for the 75 & 76! Tremendous effort!
Thank you so much for the update and your constructive opinion on MSFS2024
Just one request for my side regarding future 2024 compatibility: If that‘s not too much extra work, please consider your first 2024 step to be pure 757 compatibility before eventually adding native 2024 features. That would be awesome. I used to have 2020 but don‘t have access to it any longer as some stupid dude out there decided to hack and delete my Microsoft account amongst others.
cannot wait for the 757 it looks phenomenal
I think that was their decision because of the career mode, they are looking into changing it
@@imurofaca6430 yeah might be, but i don’t understand why this career stuff is so important
@@simulacrae honeslty me neither its an offline career we dont care if people cheat
I’m just here staring at that 757 😍
Cloud dependency with no offline mode is a killer. I think this is what MS/Asobo intended to do all along to satisfy the vast gamers market.
I might buy it if I can get an off line version. Till then I’ll stick with X-plane12.
It's pretty amazing that people are completely ignoring this no matter how many times it's repeated.
This is something I should have clarified in the video so I'll take the fault on that one. Yes scenery and planes can be downloaded to be off the cloud.
Only the aircraft though. There's still no offline low quality terrain to take over when bandwidth problems happen.
X box Ultimate gaming cannot load flight simulator 2024. Narration screen is stuck.
I'm in a holding pattern with FS2024. Looking forward with eager anticipation to the 757 for MSFS2020.
streaming airplanes instead of downloading them is a ridiculous idea, the plane stays with you during the entire flight.
That is good to hear. I sincerely hope more users have your experience with the sim. I want FS2024 to succeed. :)
It was unplayable offline for me
I’m fine with all of the map data being streamed kind of like how it is done in FS2020.
Offline FTW it'll help keep the balance between the high and low bandwidth internet users and lighten the load on those cloud based services for sure!
Offline mode is a priority for the entire community! I don’t see my self simming off of so much support from the cloud.
Although I already bought the new simulator I will be primarily using FS2020 until things get resolved.
I think we all appreciate the new sim and it will be amazing down the road, just not there yet.
Speaking the truth.
Yeah offline needs to be a thing and also the ability to mod default planes. Right now all planes are encrypted.
757 ?? 🎈🎈
I don't think the cache is working properly which may be adding to the cloud service woes. Each client downloading the same stuff over and over.
2:38 I have 4 TB on my hard drive. Let's use them.
Exactly, we need that option to be able to install the game properly.

@@Neuro_Plot 4 tb isn't expensive now
Hey Sherv,
This may have been answered before, but if you don’t mind answering again, will the 767 and 787 come out for MSFS2020?
Yeah, and it was absolute dogs*it. 😁
Mine loads but it’s so full of glitches. I could barely get past my first “first flight” in career mode. Landing challenges are almost impossible, I.e. no throttle control, extreme turbulence etc.
We absolutely need shared cockpit
In the long run, I really want FS2024 to succeed for both PC and console users.
not playing fs2024 too many bugs and puts my pc at risk of being over storage
Im getting pumped for MSFS 2026
About the cloud thing; if the real planes need the solidity of ARINC429 connections inside the plane, then why not devout our efforts, as an industry to have everything about the simulation be as solid as ARINC429? TCP/IP doesn't cut it.
nicely said.
Let’s see what happens
I bought a beautiful $ 2800 dollar computer for 2024 but had my doubts about the online idea since nothing else cloud based works very well all the time!
At least my 2020 is screaming with the new computer--lol !
Will the 767 also be coming with support for 2020/2024 or just 2024?
Too early to comment on that.
Basically every single game these days is cloud based.. and they have WAY more users. Once Microsoft gets their stuff together and allocates a lot more servers for MSFS, it should be fine.
The world is not completely wifi enabled. Some, most, do not have cable. Just copper wire phone connection. Add us to 2024.
This game was never going to launch they way that they marketed it, i knew it was too good to be true
fun game if you can get into the server. I want a game that I can play when I want and not sit staring at a load screen. i wouldn’t waste money on this.
+1, i uninstalled 2020 😭
For me it works better because of Cloud technology.
Microsoft doesn't make decisions based on customers, they make them based on their shareholders.
No cloud, means you get xplane 12. Can't have it both ways.
Complete nonsense
I doubt Microsoft watches your video, maybe send a ticket over, many of us already did, I agree the cloud option is ridiculous
No ai pilot and maps not loading is a disappointment I know they can add this and yes shit on me for using Ai pilot but I like it for sigh seeing and getting good photos but I do like the game in the like 20 minutes I could play it’s a nice game I love it just wish they could add and fix it a little faster
I love it. They're building the future right in front of our eyes. We can only go up from here
People shouting for an offline mode just don’t understand the concept. Skip channel.
2024 is about to get wayyy. Better. 🎉😁😁
Please bear in mind both 2020 and 2024 still use the original FSX code, just wet painted.
Please never forget about that
FS2024 is a pile of garbage, I got mine refunded and won't go anywhere near it till it's fixed (which I expect will take a very long time). It does not cater to simmers at all, more to those who want an arcade toy. Sure, some of the eye candy is nice but not a big enough selling point to upgrade from FS2020. Sadly this is going to go down as one of Microsoft's disaster products.
A full offline mode is probably not possible, because that would be an installation of several thousand terrabytes.
“I have a sandwich; therefore, world hunger doesn’t exist.”
Reality is games like this create situations in which a consumer is incapable of truly choosing when they can and cannot play.
@@ThePerson9406 if your installation is less than 200 GB, you must have not installed a lot of the world updates.
@@damnbobthebuilders They already said that core components like aircraft will be downloadable via the library in the second to last SDK livestream.
It should still be an OPTION to download it all local. Yea for the average person 400gb would be a deal breaker and they need the cloud
It’s quite risky…
You remember this one:

This is why I love XP.
X -lane looks worse for a reason, so you always of the option anyway.
@@WestAirAviationmeanwhile some people are still flying FSX and FS2004.... which will outlive any of the asobo tech reliant stuff just released.
