"3 cats who clearly are just complete that freeloaders" 😹 Thank you for providing humor in a situation that would totally freak me out!
😂
😂
These cats only have ONE job! 😂
😂
"3 cats who clearly are just complete fleeloaders" 😂😂😂 thata so funny Robyn! Been missing your videos these days! 🤗🤗
Accidently left door from garage to kitchen open one day, and a 2 weeks later noticed droppings in the kitchen. Cleaned it all up, freaking out cause it's the kitchen... scolded our cat for not doing his job. No kidding, he went straight to the basement and 5 min later brought me a mouse, 20 min later another and then another. In 24 hrs mamma and her 6 nearly full grown kids were gone. No mice since and yes, we always double check that door to the garage!
Wow! 🐈💪🏼🎉
We had a cat that was such a good mouser that we loaned her out to neighbors who had mouse problems. She would take care of the “interlopers” within a couple of days, and we’d go pick up the cat, who would come home and chill for days (sometimes weeks) until another neighbor would call to request our cat’s help. She never failed in her missions!
💪🏼🐈🐁
Humorous story about decorative skeletons: I work at a "big box store" that sells decorations for all seasons and holidays, and the company offers extended warranties on some of those products. Last autumn, I was ringing up a transaction that included a "decorative" skeleton, and the register prompted me to offer an extended warranty on it. The wife laughed and said, "Why would I get life insurance on it? It's already dead!"
hahahaha
Good for you protecting yourself from possible Hantavirus. I had one friend die from it and one barely survived. Fully saturated droppings and clean with paper towels while wet. Whatever you do, DO NOT VACUUM THE DROPPINGS. That aerosolizes the spores and you breathe it in. I used to do the Hantavirus education program in New Mexico USA. Please take care ❤️
I am very sorry for your loss and want to thank you for providing these instructions. This situation can happen to anyone and you might be saving someone's life like mine now that I know how to handle it.
Thank you for this information. 🙏🏼🤞🏼
Don’t feel bad - I recently found the cutest, most brilliantly crafted little mouse nest (complete with peanut shells and sunflower seeds) intricately woven together - in the back of a drawer in a table in my living room! 🤢😭
Oh my! Little crafty critters! 🐁😬
My cats are "complete freeloaders". Lol! I love it!
🤪🐈❤️
Mothballs help deter mice when the cats are just freeloading... 😂
😂✌🏼
You did better than I would have. I would have thrown absolutely EVERYTHING in a bin bag. Whether it was essential or not. :D
haha, I'd say 90% went in!
suggestion. Have extra paint? I painted utility rm floor & cement areas. Unimportant but visually makes me calmer when cleaning in there.
Smart. I DO NOT like the colour in there
Buy peppermint essential oil, dilute with water and spray where mice/rats were, they will not come back. Works for my house and garage area. Wonderful content❤
Great tip! 🤞🏼✅
I get the freeloader part. My cat used to bring me lizards all the time…apparently she thought my screams of panic were screams of joy because she kept bringing them in the house. 😖 Her last gift to me was a salamander. She brought it into my just cleaned from top-to-bottom main bathroom. Ended up with a panic attack and had to call my son to come over and get it out of the house for me. My other cat would come home with spider webs all over her head…never figured out where she got them from…and she wasn’t telling so it remains a mystery.
😮 🐈💕
Love the “cats who are free-loaders” joke. I have two of those as well. 🐈 🐈
Like teenagers! 😂❤️🐈💪🏼
This was so funny, great because no matter how clean we are it happens, I love it what you said about your cats being lazy, but they can’t get behind that door. lol
It’s all done now. Good job
Thanks! 🙏🏼
You got this!!!! This happened to me. I had quite the infestation. I called the professional and they filled all the holes, removed the dead bodies and laid bated traps!
Oh that's good!
When I’m looking for an adult and realize I’m the adult 🫠😫😭
Our daughter phoned from university and told me that she needed advice from an adult. My immediate response was to say, "Dad's not home". 🤣😂
@@cathyoliver8597 😂😂😂
hahaha
hahaha
I keep on looking and yes I did have to subscribe again. I feel bad this keeps on happening to a lot of my followers I watch 😢.
🙏🏼💕🤞🏼
I feel for you. A house we rented years ago had a huge mouse issue in the kitchen cupboards. Yes, constant baiting of traps and two isolated cupboards we gave up using. One year it was so bad that our neighbors had them too, and the mice were eating out of the cat food dish. Their cats just laid and watched the mice chowing down. I guess the city cats were too well fed. Hang in there and check frequently to stay on top of it and try to find where they're coming in It will get better. Thanks for sharing the reality of life! Speaking of fly lady, have you ever done a podcast with Diane in Denmark? I like her modified no pressure 10 minute
routines and very important self-care which we tend to neglect. Thanks for the inspiration.
You’re welcome and yes, I did do an interview with Diane! ua-cam.com/video/4wXU-0pUpjI/v-deo.htmlsi=ozzJlpa1vqVZvFJf
I love your freeloading cats lol! Way back we were in an apt that was a converted old house. Mice everywhere. I had little dogs at the time. They could care less about the mice. Then I moved to another apt complex. I saw one mouse, got a cat and have never had a problem since. Everyone in that complex and in the complex I live in now complained about mice. I have 2 cats and the mice choose to go elsewhere. 😻
🎉🐈💪🏼
Mad respect 😮😮. Mice give me the creaps. 😵. We have had a few issues with them and I know how you feel.
They're the worst!
Very satisfying video!
Glad you enjoyed it 🐁😬🙏🏼
Looks so much better!
Thank you!
You are so brave!
I feel brave!
You mentioned people have found themselves unsubsidized so I just looked and I was unsubsidized. So I resubscribed. I will be paying better attention.
Thank you! 🙏🏼 so strange… 🌟
Robyn- You are just such a joy and I always look forward to your videos. I am learning so much from you and always leave the videos feeling inspired. Thank you for your channel. You Rock! 🙂🤩
Hooray!!! Thanks! 🙏🏼🎉
Great video! Thank you Robyn 👌 I was intrigued as to a nurse's handling of a "germy" 😂 situation like this 😮 eak ...
Oh good one!!
You done good girl! 👍🏼
Thank you!! 😊 💪🏼🐁✌🏼
Yep, I’m still subscribed! Love, love, love your channel! What a sweet and fun lady you are. By the way, I have my husband do “mouse check“ once in a while. That’s his job. Lol
Oh thank you!
Robyn, I loved how you handled this. It was truly grossly terrifying, but you are such a pro and delt with it so well.
Good advice all around.
Cheers
Thank you!!
Eww, sorry that happened. I’ve had mice before. I’m so grateful that we don’t have them in my current home! Good luck!
Yes!!
Happens to the best of us. We're in a farming, grain elevator community.
Oh goodness, yes!
😂😂😂 your funny…..love your videos ❤
Thanks so much! 😄
Glad you said something about checking if we're still subscribed. I checked, & somehow I had been unsubscribed. Resubscribed now.
Crazy… thanks for checking! 👋🏼
Brave!!
Thank you!
I loved this video...sounds weird but it was fun and strange way....Joan
Yay! ✌🏼🐁✅
You make me laugh out loud!
Oh thanks!
Robyn, you should be wearing a mask also! Disturbing dust and mouse droppings, you can inhale very bad stuff. (Hantavirus comes to mind). Please wear a mask next time. We love you and want you around for a long, long, time.
Oh! You DID mention Hantavirus! I typed my comment right at the beginning, lol!
Oops. Yes. Next time (although I hope there is no next time!) 🤞🏼🐈🐁🤪
I am subscribed:)❤
🎉✅❤️
I use to live in Toronto. Cockroaches! Lesson to learn - check on all rooms regularly
Oh! We don't have those! scary!
Freeloader cats joke made me 😂
😂🐈💪🏼
I'm very curious about all the copper pipes and faucets🤗
Oooh, that's hydronic floor heating (we don't use it). Pretty complex looking hey!
Thank you! Yes, very complex. My in-laws had something like that years ago but it was in a slab. I know Frank Lloyd Wright used heating in the floor too. I'm in San Diego. Heating isn't too much of a concern. But when I was first married we lived in Port Angeles, Washington, while my husband was in the U.S. Coast Guard. We love your part of the world! @@MinimalistHome
Could you do a productive morning routine for those of us with adhd as well? :)
Ooooh, Ok, one day
What do you do with the textbooks - assuming they aren't contaminated? I have a bunch that need to go but I don't know where to send them for proper disposal. I'm so sorry for you finding all the mouse remains!!
Yeah, it's hard...I'm considering burning ours honestly. Not sure what else to do
FYI: My university accepted textbooks (that could not be resold because they were too out-of-date or no longer used in any university course) for disposal. If I remember correctly this coincided with the start of the semesters.
?N95 mask when cleaning mouse droppings to prevent acquiring hantavirus?
You are wise! Yes! Next time… 🐁🤞🏼
Your cats have made a friend. We take care of some “feral cats” and they let skunks and trash pandas hang out and make a stinky mess inside their shelter. It’s mind boggling.
haha!
I had to read the comments before I watched the video because I was scared to see what you were going to find.
Sorry about that! 🐁
Hi Robyn - when I click on the 'like' - the counter doesn't go up (remains at 0). Just wondering if this is what should be happening.
Just checked again - & it seems to be functioning okay now.
Whew! Thanks 🙏🏼
I never had Mice but I have cats going everywhere at they point they found baby gecos that live in my home because they lay eggs inside and love my mosquitos infested home😅. The worst is when you find flour bugs because that involves food 😢
The mouse was playing with the Lego arm.
HE was!!
Good job. I would be too horrified to be there. What sae you doing to prevent future mice?
Thank you!! We covered a drain and put out some mouse traps!
I used the pooper scooper grabber arm for dead mouse outside. Yuck.
🐁💪🏼😬
oh no! so much sympathy. my friend here still doesn't get that clutter is a frat party to pests - even after a carpet beetle invasion. i have seen mice in yard so wouldn't be surprised. but ick. i can't use bleach though as it makes me very sick - i've read vinegar is a decent thing to kill germs. any options you know of? i rely on good soap and hot water cleaning and then vinegar
Vinegar is good on mold, but not that great for general bacteria/viruses - there are disinfectant wipes that are lemon scented, I think they use alcohol as their main ingredient.
@@cairoanderson7944i can use alcohol! but not lemon scented
Try a health food store for things with less scent 🤞🏼✅
FACEMASK!!!
I was screaming thru the screen.
Your bravery is inspiring
Thanks! I’ll remember for next time… 🐈🐁🤞🏼
If you don't have hantavirus, who cares?
When there is one there are several.
Indeed!
I have house for sale, think I have decluttered everything, photos slowly coping to my ancestry account and will give to cousin, furniture will be my problem as I’m moving into a motor home, I think I will have a garage sale every thing free
Fantastic! Congratulations! ❤️
@@MinimalistHome house sold contract signing today
We have an old house and it happens. They need very little space to get in. One more task to look after. I throw out the trap, mouse and all. My husband wants to wash and reuse them. Too bad for him, if I find it first. 🤮Best thing on the traps is peanut butter and Cheerios. Gross. I hear you.
Thanks for the solidarity! 💪🏼✌🏼
Put jelly on the mouse traps as bait. Mice like sweet foods, so it turns out jelly is better to use than peanut butter on traps. I speak from personal experience.
Ahhhh, good one, turns out they were licking all the PB off,
Yikes!!!
Yes… 🤪🐁👋🏼
I had to re-join ☹️
Wow… thanks for checking! 🌟
Your husband looks like he came straight out of Minecraft 😂
LOL 😂
Ok, I have questions !! So, if your poor kitties are freeloading, how did that one mouse get in 3 pieces??😂
Good point… 🤣
LOL! as a nurse you touch way worse things than dead mice!
I guess… but not in my home! LOL
❤🇨🇦
Aww, Donean!
At 11:33, you talk about a video graphic you point to, but it’s not actually there.
Whoops!!
I'm sorry you had to deal with that nastiness!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Oh, thank god it's mice. My brain panicked, thinking you found bedbugs. 😬
Oh I would take mice ANY day over bedbugs!
It’s hard being an adult!
Yes! 💪🏼😍
I decided to toss everything that they might have touched
Yep! me too!
FYI you're not suppost to use a vacuum cleaner to clean up the droppings it can cause health issues with your lungs Hopefully you won't need to do it again but you're most likely going to bc mice follow a cent they leave so it has to stay on top of it
Thanks. Yes, another person commented on this as well. 🤞🏼🐁
3 pc mouse... maybe your cats are busy afterall
I wondered the same thing, but didn’t think to mention it! 🐈💪🏼❤️
You poor thing! I hate dealing with mouse $#@! It makes me nauseous just watching!
Thanks for the sympathy! 🐁🤪
you should be wearing a mask Hanta virus and all. 🙂
Yeah, I don't think we have it here, but good idea!
Perhaps safety goggles and a mask covering the nose an mouth would be a sensible thing to do!
Perhaps!
FYI There has been hantavirus on Vancouver Island. Decades ago…
Thanks for letting me know. 🤞🏼
