EU261/ EC261 Air Passenger Rights regulation have no teeth and the European Commission does not care for the airline passengers. Passengers should not have to hire an online legal assistance (they charge service fee) and threaten the airlines to get their compensation. EU261 law should enforce airlines to pay within a reasonable amount of time (ex:30days) or lose their license to operate...period!!! Every country should have these type of laws protecting the passengers from these airlines.
Flight fr250 from London stansted ,4/9/23,1925 to Lanzarote departed 2125! Halfway to Lanzarote diverted to Tenerife As Lanzarote closes after midnight we arrived in Tenerife 0245 departing at 0630 arrived in Lanzarote at 0715. We should of arrived around midnight. Now no compensation! They claim safety security issues. I claim gamesmanship by RYANAIR as the crew knew of the closure of Lanzarote Airport before setting off the only reason for departure was for RYANAIR to avoid paying compensation How does the Air travel control allow them to do this!
We were delayed by 4h20m recently, tui airline said it was as a result of adverse weather but there really wasn’t anything which you’d consider biblical, winds gusting 15mph, no rain, fog or snow. It’s an island too so winds wouldn’t be abnormal. How would you best proceed?

@@travelaimes May I ask do we complain to the national enforcement body of where the airline comes from (Air Portugal, @ Portugal) ? or at the country I live at (Spain)?
So I have a flight on Feb 12 2024 that was cancelled and the next possible flight departs the next day and from a totally different airport. I will have to likely get a bus, taxi and hotel totalling 50-80 usd (due to the delay and limited alternatives). Will I be refunded or compensated for at least the bus and taxi from the original departure airport to the new departure airport.
I’m not that experienced with travelers with a disability and what procedures are like. I think your best bet is to reach out to the airline. And of course you are required compensation for this!
