At 5:50 min notice that there is a bolt head about 6 inches to the left of the mount. This is one of three bolts that fasten the bracket for the top stud to the transmission. The other two bolts near the mount itself. One is above the mount and the other is behind the mount. You can see the bolt head for the one behind the mount at 9:33 min. With the mount loosened and the motor slightly jacked up these two bolts can be removed with a 18mm shallow universal drive socket. Once the bracket is loose you do have to a little playing around (adjust engine height etc.) to get it so you can remove the mount. However there is a lot less of the prying and no loosening of the cradle bolts. In rust belt states, loosing the cradle bolts can be problematic; due to corrosion, the internal nut they thread into can break loose and spin.
This one is a PITA. Took me a few hours as there is very limited space and bolts are hidden. Need a bottle jack and various wrenches. Lining that bracket back up is a bitch. You need to remove the mounting bracket and pry the mount angled toward the front but not seated and insert rear bracket mount first, then jacking trans up and down to make sure things get lined up and start the other bolts. It’s just a nightmare of a job.
@Courtney Thomas this is like the best “How not to do” video. Lol. I changed all my mounts and upper torque strut mount in about an hour. This dude wasted double or triple that time on just the first one. 🤦♂️
@@Ang3l-of-M3rcy I'm doing a 2013 traverse right now and it's practically the same. I just have less room to install the new mount. I took out all of the mounts and I'm replacing them. I'm going to have to lower the sub frame and get a pry bar on it to get it in. I should finish it tonight.
Lol it's very easy to take out I did in just 10 minutes Jack car by body not frame And frame have 2 big bolt back and front and also 2 and 2 small bolt big is 24mm small 18 mm Not totly removed just one inch from down and Jack transmission up and it will come out
@@GirlsNDragons lowering the subframe, and using the a pry bar to get a little more wiggle room only helps 80% the other 20% can be handle by smacking it in with a hammer. But theres a chance the motor mount casing can crack. I got lucky but it is a true pain in the fukking ass.
Using a Dremel to take off about 1/8 of an inch off of the top and bottom threads of the mounts make it slide in like butter. Those mount threads are ridiculously too long.

Thanks for the video. It was a great help for me to do the job myself. Keep posting more videos.
Hey all he made a video that helped. Yes other comments help as well. Just be polite.
Great video. You're a life saver. Thanks
You're welcome
I took a slightly different path: compressed the mount with a couple C-clamps, then crowbarred it in. Went in nicely
@@j_lode good tip , thanks for sharing
Nice work.

You lift and pull out the bottom first and comes right out.
That old mount still in good shape ...did your vehicle runs better with the new mount ?
So so

would it work better to loosen other motor mount to get them out?
Rich Beach yes , but I didn't know till I replaced the other ones, thank you for point that out 😉😉👍👍

You tighten it up before loosen it?
Tony Finck nope
Rite I caught that to
What the use you broke mount
As said its easy to do if you set and think cool way
If you would of loosen up the front engine mount, it would of went higher
I took the transmission bracket off, came right out, went in clean 30 minutes
This is the same set up as the 2010 traverse. On the bracket, the left bolt is in a tight position, how you got it off?
2010 Buick Enclave and the 2010 traverse is practically the same vehicle.
Hope is not to late response, you gotta move the Mount a little bit,

Oyes tengo una igual pero esa camioneta ensiende pero no camina que podrá ser
Te vibraba la troka o por que lo cambio primo
Bottom goes in first then the top one side is longer one side is short
Take the bracket out why all that .
It will come off easy

If u but top stud in first bottom slides in easy.. the top stud is longer than bottom. You over worked yourself
Hahaha
I dont get why people dont just cut off some of that extra thread on the top
How do you put the new one in if the old one doesn’t have clearance?

You put the same transmission mount back on; and the old nuts and said that are more secure.
And there was absolutely nothing wrong with the mount. Mine has a chunk of the casing missing
Why don’t you just be better if you remove the transmission bracket
Took your advice and it came out perfectly, went it awesome. Did it in 30 minutes
100% correct.
