All mothers need to be celebrated by their husbands on mother's day. There's no excuse.

Plant story: no dude, just no. YOU chose to have a billion plants, so it falls to you to take care of them. And suggesting that your roommates should hold their breath in the common areas if they don’t want to pay, is so effing ridiculous.

The first story rang so goddamn true whenever she mentioned his issues with alcohol. In my experience, alcoholics are extremely defensive and will say the dumbest crap to turn their failings onto you. “You’re not MY mother” after your partner has made it clear that Mother’s Day is important to them and you have done stuff for Mother’s Day for them in the past fits exactly into that category.

The cake story is so much more. OP was leaving out so much from the original post and lied about being friends with the groom. She was looking for sympathy and got called out when the bride and groom were shoWn the post.

That first story was 15 min of my life I will never get back. Sounded like husband could’ve been on the spectrum and the fact that alcohol is involved definitely doesn’t help but wow, did it just go on and on.

For The guy in who throw a “mother’s day bonfire” if his friends brought their kids that would mean they were giving their wives a day off while this idiot brought all these men and their children for his wife to take care off. I think this was more malicious than it seems tbh.

I agree with Candy on the story about OP’s wife not staying behind to get the vents cleaned. ESH. He sucks more. I would absolutely leave that man for finding joy in me feeling like 💩 for ANY reason.

I can understand being a parent with a certain style but to outright put my child in danger hell nah !!!!
The op is not asking for much she’s literally asking for
    The bare minimum

Idk i feel like they're insterting some of their own thoughts and being too easy on the wife in the second to last story.
The husband is weird, 100%. Being satisfied that you hurt someone you love is bonkers and he should probably seek therapy. But the wife said she would be home for the vent cleaning service, left without notifying her husband, which will cost then both more money later. Her priorities were wrong and she should have to pay for the service out of her own money. I think she acted childishly.
He was still wrong for intentionally hurting her on her bday. But i also wouldn't want to go out with my partner if they acted the way she did. Would have just stayed home.

Ok Candy thunder why did you just totally forget/excuse the fact that the wife KICKED her husband out of the bedroom for 3 nights when she screwed up and didn’t take care of the “vent issue”. But then HE went way too far???? EVS equally in that story. IMO 🤷

Plus his solution was that since she hadn't stayed like they agreed she should pay the extra money it would cost them out of her own money but she just wanted to keep her money so she could do more fun activities and then kicked him out of their bedroom and still expected him to keep his promises about her gift.
