La Nouba, when I hear this word or music or watch the show I have so much emotions and goosebumps, because I was personally working in this show. And Varekai and Quidam just have seen in Live. I first went to Disney World in November, 2001. My wife (girlfriend then) absolutely insisted we go see Cirque du Soleil... I had NO idea what an incredible performance Cirque puts on!
Where to begin: The story... every Cirque show has a theme. La Nouba (literally, French for "The Spree" but really means, "The Life") has very unique characters (e.g., the giant, the "red guy", etc.)
The stage is quite versatile: It was obviously constructed just so each act could enter via "elevator" below the stage. The stage has many built-in trampolines--many extended the whole length & width of the stage.
The music (I'm a musician): So, I bought the CD (I invite you to as well). Much of the music in this video differs from the CD, which features a lot of Klezmer sounds, actually; in addition to some smooth jazz (soprano sax), awesome female vocals, and even a song with some rapping!
I've seen many Cirque shows, in Vegas, and travelling shows. I still say this one's the best. I'm extremely grateful to have seen it in its original format--there used to be at least 2 acts that I believe are "retired":
1) Chinese Garden: Little Chinese girls tossing what looks like yo-yos or large spools.
2) a La Lune: a lady (clown) with a birthday cake. She stacks wooden chairs, ascending in an odd order as she climbs it--WITH the cake. Once she's about 2-3 stories up, she lights the candles & holds it on her feet upside down...then collapses back down the stage! Quite the balancing act!
I was so saddened to hear when Cirque filed for bankruptcy last year (due to pandemic-related shutdowns). MGM owns them now (as they already own half of Vegas' casinos). I hope Cirque will one day be on their own again, as I truly believe much of their ingenuity, creativity, and quite frankly, hunger for ideas to be the best. That's how they got to the top in the first place.

I would give anything to see cirque live!! I've been a huge fan since I was 14, I'm 41 now and dream of seeing them live!!! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to keep us entertained...we love you all!!!!!!!

I always regretted not getting to see La Nouba and Varekai. But I did enjoy Quidam when I saw it in 2013

EDIT: kinda disappointed to not see the chair-stacking act because that one was just hilarious, but I'm glad both the trapeze and the trampoline made it in!

Triple Trapeze is such a great act, teamwork from the girls (i know for sure Stella Umeh & Raquel Karro) and that beautifull singing from Zara! And i love Olga Pikhienko's screentime in this, she is one of the people who starred in more than 1 show!
La Nouba was my favorite show! My family and I saw it at least twice every year when we went to Orlando❤️❤️❤️

@@Alphabet_poopWoah....it wasn't my decision to change it but the show has been around for at least 20 years and was due to be updated and it is the permanent show at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World so to me it makes sense to me.
and if you don't like that show in particular there are a ton other ones to put your money out to see

I have been waiting all week for this set! As a teen, I saw both Varekai and Quidam on tv. As an adult, I've been so lucky to see both these shows live. The brilliancy of John Gilky, the musical proficiency of Zara Tellander and Mathieu Lavoie, along with the incredible casts of both shows really bring these magical worlds to life. Thank you Cirque du Soleil for showing these wonderful performances
When I was 16, I got to see Quidam in Santa Monica when it first came to the USA in 1996. It was life changing for me.

Quidam last act is the Best from the Best from Cirque su Soleil. These three shows are awesome but Quidam as a whole is just spectacular and magic.

So my fiance and I took my mom to the Cirque show Ovo, here in Pittsburgh, back In January. My mom was on the edge of her seat more so than everyone else. She kept whispering "Oh my god, please don't drop her, please please please don't drop her" . She was terrified and impressed. She loved it!

its a shame you guys never officially documented the later clowns from La Nouba. My dad and I saw La Nouba for the second time in a row at Downtown Disney. We got cheap discounted tickets that were in just the right spot. While getting concessions my dad found out the margaritas were only five bucks in a large souvenir cup. I had my popcorn, my dad had his alcohol. Every time those clowns appeared my dad lost it. After the show was over, we meet up with rest of our family and went on a bus back to the hotel. Every time I mentioned the clowns my drunk dad would happily yell "Piñata!". Was a hilarious and enjoyable experience. I will miss La Nouba.

Finally a Cirque special with a fly act! I don't think Cirque will ever top that banquine act in Quidam. Although that Russian Swing act in Varekai was very good.
God the only thing better than the superb athletes and choreography is the fantastic live musical performance by the band and magical singer. You bring it together so perfectly my friends
