E6000 adhesive is a must-have for your toolbox. It bonds strong and permanent, but it's flexible enough that vibration and shock doesn't make it break loose. And when you're done with it, you can peel it off cleanly.

I use Amazing Goop for EVERYTHING on my quads. NO MORE SCREWS OR NUTS at all!
I glue the frame together, i glue the motors on the arms and i even glue the props on the motors!
One large tube per quad is what i recommend.
I know this is old, but thanks for putting this together Matt. I just used E6000 to stiffen up the body of heavily modified twin DW Lighting. You were right on the money, it def penetrates and adds lots of stiffness to the EPP. I like how is spreads out so much easier than GOOP, or even Foam Tac(which is incredible-but expensive). Thanks again for the excellent advice!
Totally agree. E6000 is the best! I use it for lots of things. I get mine at Walmart super cheap.

E6000 is good but the Shoe goo brand is better. Been using it for years in rc cars. Give it a try. Would also recommend the mini tubes. Larger ones dry up after opening in a couple months. Thanks for your reviews JB!

Amazing Goop is also the same thing, works great. Do not use CA/super glue on electronics - it’s acid and will eat away at your electronics. Shoe goo, amazing goop, e6000 will not.
We use shoe goo to mount servos and electronics in rc cars on carbon. Over the years, we have tried both. Shoegoo always held a lot better. And peels off with absolutely no residue as well. I mount my capacitors to the carbon frames on my quads with shoegoo and use it to lock the camera angle into place with a small dab. Also works amazing for mounting the crossfire antennas!!
I use Goop Amazing. I doesn't dry quickly, but it has a strong bond that ISN'T permanent. It requires a small effort to start the peel, but it will peel off cleanly from smooth surfaces. I've been using it for years.
I just found a 6 page forum discussion on E6000 vs Goop. The consensus from those who used both, think Goop is the better choice because it sets faster and smells less. Both are good tho.

this with my supplies. To be honest I’m really relieved to see this video. As
someone who started in RC with planes and then moved on to helicopters and then
most recently FPV quads I’ve been a little worried that the craftsmanship of
the hobby might be going the way of the dinos. Before this video, I wasn’t even
sure if anyone in the FPV world had heard of CA glue. (If by chance you are not
familiar with it, I highly recommend educating yourself because it is truly
amazing stuff.) I feel like when Joshua mentioned how some people were gluing
on their antennas he really nailed it in that with a little imagination
combined with some trial and error you might be amazed with the things you can
build and the ways you can improve your model with very little time and/or
money. You can buy carbon fiber, fiberglass, wood, plastic, alumininum and a
variety of other materials just about anywhere for very cheap. Speaking of
such, another good product for these fpv craft is hot glue. It makes a very
simple, safe and effective insulator for your exposed electrical connections
and if you change your mind it can be removed very easily without damaging the
components or leaving any residue. Lastly, don’t forget about the ability to
easily drill and tap threaded holes in metal and plastic as this can be a
hugely useful repair/building method.
E6000 = Amazing Goop = Shoe Goo (all same manufacture and same flexible substance), but E6000 uses PERC (dry cleaning fluid) as its base solvent , instead of Toluene (both of which evaporate entirely, but the latter causes birth defects in rats who are made to swim in it, in California).
E6800 is the same adhesive but has UV stabilizers (as do certain flavors of Goop such as Marine, Sport & Outdoor, and a couple others) and are suitable for applications exposed to direct sunlight.
Those of us in the slope soaring community have been using Goop or E6x00 for 15+ years, particularly on EPP aircraft, but also for other things. I glue servos into my composite aircraft with it, because it'll take a shock without coming loose, but if I need to remove it, I can dribble Toluene or Xylene in there, while prying on the servo, and it'll soften the adhesive and pop right out, and with a little more solvent I can remove the old adhesive and redo the bond, good as new.
We also sometimes thin Goop with solvent to consistency of warm maple syrup and paint it on with a foam brush to create a thin permanent adhesive layer between various layers of covering such as strapping tape and iron on coverings, usually on molded EPP wings. It's very versatile stuff. Just note that it does not dry quickly. You'll only get full strength after about 24 hours and if you manage to seal the solvent in, it can take longer. When it is fully cured though, it's very very strong.
E 6000 or otherwise known as "Shoe Goo" is an awesome adhesive. I have used it to repair duck hunting waders , and even back in the day used it for repairing water beds. I have used it in this hobby for so many different purposes. So glad to see it getting recognized
I’ve always thought they were essentially the same product, just with a different name. I first used this type of adhesive to repair my shoes that got worn out from skateboarding. Then a few years later I bought a tube of e6000 from the dollar store, and I have used it to repair my work boots, and all sorts of random other stuff over time. I’ve still got the same tube from like 6 years ago, a little bit goes a long way
Dude WTF? I legit was buying a tube of this as you posted this video to glue the wings onto my onto my Sonicmodell F1 wing! My tube of clear had hardened and I only had black (which would look terrible on white foam), so I made a special trip to the store to buy some clear or white, I bought clear.
My daughter can vouch for this amazing coincidence.
Anyway, I'm going to watch this video to see how to use it on kwads.

Been using e6000 for couple years now. Love it and use it for just about anything in a pinch.
I just found myself scavenging bits of ummagrip off of old frames yesterday. This would work better than the adhesive foam. Thanks for the tip.
The one thing you missed is this is dissolvable with alcohol, so this together with an IPA spray is a great combo when you need to fix and remove something.
Hey that stuff even works in Australia :) and I glued my camera on my 2" with it, no screws nothing just E6000 to the bracket!
we use a ton of it in our planes..... the other one you can get which can be better for certain things is "welders" glue

You forgot to mention the fumes in an enclosed room. That is a bonus if you like to fly high ☺

My wife has been using it for years to make custom, costume jewelry and swears by it. Apparently it's a big thing with those ladies. I borrowed it to glue a new AXII antenna cap back on the base and it worked great. That Ummagrip idea is a good one.
It's all I use in my shop. I've been using it for over a year. Way way better than anything I've tried b4.

Yup. It's a must have if you fly wings.
If you don't have Polymorph in your toolbox you're also missing out. Polymorph is also semi-permanent. You warm it up to make it soft enough to use and when it cools down, it a nice white plastic. You can remove it by heating it back up.
Polymorph will meld together with some plastics. I has some small servos (see my Popsicle Stick Robot) which were connected to parts of my robot with Polymorph and the Polymorph combined with the plastic of the servo and couldn't be removed cleanly.
Many things I see 3D printed could have been made using Polymorph much faster.

Uhu Por is a contact cement, this isn't. Also no Uhu Por in the USA
Yes. Great stuff. Great Jello cure for Runcam Split mounting etc. ( I tend to spread a thin layer on sides of cam and let it dry for ultra thin moon gell effect.) I then loose mount cam to desired angle & apply lots more E6000. When dry I remove the already loose mount screws and voila ! A flexible fpv mount!!! Also, its even easier to peel off with hairdryer/heatgun

I love E6000. Theres another glue that I love called Aleene's Original Tacky Glue. It dries to a reusable super tacky glue. You can make "glue dots" with it. There's also this double sided "tape" that is movie industry stuff for set making called Joe's Sticky Stuff, craziest double sided "tape" i've ever used, even better than VHB.
i used this a lot when making jewelry back in the day. its niche but once you know about it , you basically don't need any other glues
And its washer and dryer safe ...now I can wash and dry my kwad without the glue coming off.

Reattatched my cars side view mirror with E6000!! Darn thing never came back off for over 3 years, until I got rid of the car.

It's my favorite glue since i started RC car. Firstly, i used for body kit protection but now i'm using it for FPV drone someparts. Smell is quite strong so you have to open door or window. enough to hold something if you mind, you peel it off easily. Thanks for sharing good inf.!
You can use it along with that mesh drywall joint tape and shoe goo or this 6000 to repair ripped rc bodies. Use it on my truggies and truck bodies works wonderfully

automotive goop is the name brand one, they use it to hold bumpers on cars..we use this for signage instead of silicone. much cleaner. been slathering my quads with this for a year, works wonders. even works well for stripped threads!

Also the black T6000 mobile phone glue is amazing. It comes out of a needle size nozzle great for extra security on wires after soldering. I use it for all sorts i really cant reccoment it enough

you can thin e6000 with xylene and paint it on. just skip the ummagrip all together.

It has an elasticity rate of 700% so 7 times its length when stretched, best glue you'll probably ever get legally lol
Beware the fumes, use in a well ventilated place. This glue is popular with costumers who glue rhinestones, I read someone saying the fumes can cause lung problems; contains tetrachloroethylene.

E6000 or if you want something a tad bit thicker Shoo Goo works really well too. I would never be without one or the other.
to remove ummagrip just heat the carbon from the other side with a hairdryer it will make the 3m glue sticky and you can easily peel the whole thing off and restick it (ideally while still warm as when it cools you get a better stick)

i use a hot glue gun for loads of stuff, it takes a while to get good at it, but i mount antennae and once an fc and a camera

I bought a tube of this and when I tried to apply it, it was so thick a big clear bubble came out of the tube, I couldn't spread it with a putty knife.
I know this is an old video and I hope you check your comments. As you know or have heard, the eyeglasses holders for the Goggles 2 will not stay attached to the eye piece in the goggles. Would a small drop of this keep them in place to fly but be able to take them off if someone wanted to use the goggles.
No I think they'd permanently attach. And I'd be real careful about getting solvent adhesive near lenses.

I recommend Shoe Goo more. Allows for easier removal later. E6000 can harden more than Shoe Goo.

where have you been? Been using E600 and Shoegoo for years now. Great for almost all foam wings. Although I stlil prefer Foamtac for modeled foam repairs

Interesting product - the texture looks a bit like that silicon sealant you use in your bath. I imagine it’s more sticky though. Seems better than hot glue. Maybe will give it a go!
It's used on phone repair, I have a black version. It's like that yellow cement glue , the smell is the same. used on shoe repair too
I have a tube of this as well, it's great. HOWEVER! there's a thing called "fix all adhesive" at Dollar tree. That does the same thing, but more on the flexible side. Also smells less like rotten eggs.
Best glue I have ever used is one that I make myself. Goop/ ShoeGoo mixed at a 50/50 ratio with Toulene for thin, or at a 25% Toulene, to 75% goo.
Does not eat Epp, and some Epo, let me repeat "some Epo"
Its Non conductive, and is REMOVEABLE, but sticks like hell. Similar to RTV, but way better. It will peel off clean if you grab it with a tweezers, and peel slowly.
I prefer to use header pins on my flight controllers, but where I solder wire-to-board, for added strength, I always twist the wires where the wires are close to the PCB and put a nice big drop of the stuff on there, which prevents the wire from moving back and forth and breaking off as you work on things...
And yes toiling is cancer-causing in the state of California...
What's so is that carbon fiber dust you just breathe in after grinding on your frame which is now lodged in your lungs. It's worse than asbestos, so use a mask.
Have used Goop for years, works just like e6000.
What about the old trusty hot glue. This looks good also👍
Hot glue is heavy and doesn't flex. It doesn't stick to carbon well. I don't think it's very good for quads.
I have a request for a tips video: Something that would be really handy is if you could change your video channel directly with switches, not the fiddly LUA script or the OSD. Something like two three-position switches with Low/Low=off (PinIO), Low/Mid=RB1, Low/Hi=RB2, Mid/Low=RB3, ..., Hi/Hi=RB8. I can do some programming in different languages but just couldn't do what I wanted as an OpenTX LUA script. If such a script already exists or there is someone out there who can make that happen, that would be really cool. Thank you.

Buy the smaller tubes otherwise you'll waste a lot ... it does eventually dry out once opened. It softens EPO foam when you glue it but all seems OK once fully dry.
if you have a mobula 7 and a v1 or v2 frame , coat the outside of the ducts and just TRY and break your frame by crashing lol

Yes. In the CLI use the rxrange command. Instead of "rxrange 0 1000 2000" use "rxrange 0 2000 1000".
Been using this stuff for a while BUT if you need an extra thickness of silicone batt matt ( I had some screws that stuck up as high as the original matt ) it won't stick two of them together, CA fixed that.
What do you think about velcro for holding batteries in place? I started out with the foam battery pads, then the umagrip but I still sometimes had a battery eject. Since I went to velcro I haven't even had a battery shift position, let alone eject from the quad. I don't see too many people using velcro though.

E6000 is a shoe glue alternative if your kicks come undone as well..... best stuff since sliced bread imo. Ive used it for my quads (listen to jb, it works)

I've given up on Welders since it's hard to find. I can find E6000 anywhere I'm talking 7-11, Dollar General, Walmart, the f-ing supermarket sells it! Can't do that with Welders that sh!t is available NOWHERE.
