My bro and I played this hard in the mid 90s. If the rules sucked we changed them. Not the most balanced game but keep those Kevin Uxbridge interrupts close
I think the Star Trek card game can make a comeback, but the problem was that the game was too complicated to play with too many different card types. If I made the game, the character cards would only be 2 categories: Federation and Non-Federation. Not the Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Non-Aligned classes from the original game. And no ships cards either. The premise of the game is that your card deck is a starship. When the cards run out the ship is destroyed. So many cards are based around milling. The playing field is called “the planet” so the premise is that both players are a ship, you are the captain of the ship. The ship is destroyed when cards run out. And you play character cards as an away team to gather items off the planet to restore the ship. Captain Picard will be the super rarest card, but the card name will be called “the captain” and Riker’s card is called “Number One” another super rare. And character cards will be ranked 1-4, I’d have starfleet rank pips at the top right corner, much like mana symbols in magic the gathering.
Absolutely agree. You should check out what they’ve done with virtual cards. While it’s also complicated, I think things have been streamlined a touch as well.
Thought going in I might at least have one of the Top 10 cards this time around (I guess Agonizing Encounter just misses out), but very cool to learn about some of those rarer promos. Just looking at the checklist I never would have known or expected those to be some of the heavy hitters to be looking out for.
I realized I should have brought up that these are the Archive Portrait Foils, basically Extended Art cards, and not just regular Archive Foils. I figure someone is going to point that out eventually.
I'dsay all of these are almost never on the market P and D Promos and eluded me: Agonizing Encounter Getting Under Your Skin Arridor, "Great Sage" Serova, Warp Field Theorist Togaran Abduction Mission Accomplished Morik Fissure Research Crensen Gap, Protect the Escapees Destiny Reset
