  • Join me in the flight deck live in the ZIBO MOD 737 as we apply winter ops procedures.
    Starting off in Murmansk (ULMM) in North Russia where it’s currently -10 we’re going to look at De-Ice/Anti-Ice procedures and how to configure the aircraft for departure in freezing conditions.
    We’ll then be flying 90 minutes South to St Petersburg (ULLI) where VATRUS have full ATC coverage, we’ll again look at the implications of approaching an airport in frigid conditions!
    Make sure you bring plenty of warm clothes!

    THIS STREAM IS NOT TO BE USED FOR REAL WORLD FLIGHT TRAINING
    The primary purpose of this stream is to give you the opportunity to see how I operate the aircraft in real time using real world operating procedures.
    Time permitting, I will try and answer some questions you might have about commercial aviation and operating the 737-800 in general.
    Whilst every effort is made to accurately replicate the way the aircraft is flown based on my experience as an Airline Captain and Type Rating Instructor, this is purely for entertainment only.
    If you happen to be a line pilot or training pilot you must not follow the guidance in this livestream, it is purely for non-professional computer simulated flight. Only consult your approved material from your respective operator.
    Personal questions and queries regarding my employment status will not be answered.

    Great flight, as usual. Please don't apologise about the level of detail regarding the de-icing procedure, I for one find it most educational. Great that you have such a fantastic flight-sim in Zibo which does everything by the book!

      Thanks Andy! It's really beneficial for me to refresh these procedures whilst flying has ground to a halt in reality, glad you enjoyed it!

      @@flightdeck2sim After all, you specifically created and titled this stream Winter Operations, so if people don't want the same level of detail, they can fast forward or watch another video on your channel. I'm sure many are absorbing the info like a sponge! I created a Word doc from notes I made for future reference.

    What a lovely landing in my home airport! The tower controller was a lady indeed. Also it's an ULLI gimmick that they sometimes use 1 runway for both departure and arrival. Usually it's the northern runway for departure and southern for arrival

      Thank you Ermak! ATC was excellent throughout!

    Hey FD2sim, if your reading comments I hope you see this.
    You should do some winter flying in Canada in February. Usually in Alberta, we get temps down to -40 to -50 Celsius, massive snow storms, and poor conditions. You don't get much more winter than that.
    Anyways, thanks for the videos, still learning lots. I've had to take a hiatus from flight simming due to technical difficulties but am looking to get back to it as soon as my new flight yoke shows up.

    Hello captain, nice stream as always. Got a question regarding the speedbrakes on the ZIBO. Shouldnt the ground spoilers deploy fully and not bit by bit upon touchdown?

    Hi captain, are you using some plugin for your seasonal effect?

    Hello, what type of landing tracker do you use?
    I currently have as tracker for my Zibo, X Ground Speed I would like to compare them.
    Greetings.

    Very dark in the cockpit. I wish I knew how to make UA-cam brighter. This is a persistent problem, what are they up to?!

    In vr when I do the engine fire test, sometimes I accidentally trip the fire extinguisher. That ended my flight.

    When you are using the center fuel tank and it gets empty, do you have to turn those pumps off?

    Hi captain , just a quick question about flight controls checks , do you need to select sys on the MFD to see the controls moving or not ? , why ? Thanks you !

    • @flightdeck2sim
      @flightdeck2sim  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Morad,
      You don’t, so long as the control provide full and free movement that’s fine, the MFD Flight control page is an option by Boeing for the 737, not all are fitted with it!

    There is a different between Anti-Icing Systems and De icing which one are you reffering you?

    • @flightdeck2sim
      @flightdeck2sim  3 роки тому +1

      Well the 737 has two ways of dealing with ice
      WAI - Primarily used to De (remove) ice but can be used to prevent (anti) ice from forming in the wing
      EAI - used as (anti) ice to prevent ice forming in the engine lip.
      When it comes to aircraft treatment de-icing is the removal of ice and anti-ice is the prevention of ice contamination.
      As mentioned during stream a “one” step procedure both removes AND protects but uses much more fluid. A two step removes initially and then protects.
      Hope this helps
