I just picked up new shoes and a new spring kit for my 67 Chevelle this afternoon. Done lots of drum brakes in my life, but its been a long time since I have done them. Im 65 years old 🙈. Gonna tackle them this week. I may replace the wheel cylinders too. Will decide when I get to the job. Great video as usual. Stay safe my fellow Long Islander. Way too much virus here.
Great video, I really like how you kept everything together and then transferred parts over to new shoes. I will be taking on my 63 Polara brakes soon and I feel much more confident after watching your video, Thanks much
Thank you so much man you saved me with this video. My 79 caprice has been sitting for 20 years the rear drums had a huge lip it tore the shoes and everything off with the drum. If it wasn’t for this video I’d still be trying to figure out how it goes back together lol.
I did the drum brakes..but the right side is still noisy.... left side is good.... thanks so much for the video.. great and clear...keep up the goodwill...happy holidays
Thanks for the video Klowny, you've helped me out with your videos before. But this one coulda used a little a little more light. Those tiny parts are hard to see. Thanks a ton anyway, you're awesome!
Thanks for making vids! It's always nice to watch somebody else doing the work sometimes lol. I don't remember if you mentioned it in the video, but for anybody who's doing shoes, short shoe in the front, long shoe towards the trunk.
TheTotalMechanic lol i hear u..i mentioned that the shoes are different sizes and to make sure you note how they were positioned..i could have gotten into more detail i guess lol..but thanks for pointing that out
I just fought my drum brakes for 90 minutes with every curse word ever invented and then some.
This helped tremendously,thank you.

If your hardware is in this bad of condition just replace the hardware it's cheap.
Never use the old springs. A new kit is only six bucks.
