Episode 036 - David Gum

On this episode of ‘Conversations on Leadership with Dr. Dave’, we are pleased to feature special guest David Gum.
David is the CEO or “Core” Executive Officer of National Fruit Product Company, better known as White House Foods.
National Fruit Product Co. produces apple products year-round and ships them nationwide. Approximately 30 percent of its production is under its White House Foods brand - which is sold primarily east of the Mississippi River - and the remaining are private-labeled, co-packed or produced for foodservice companies.
Co-founded in 1908 by Frank Armstrong Sr., National Fruit Product stayed in the Armstrong family for 98 years before Gum purchased the company, where he’d worked since he was 20 years old, in 2006. Known for its apple cider vinegar, the company says it’s the largest privately owned apple processor in the United States; it produces applesauce, apple juice and other products.
After 98 years, the Armstrong Family ownership transferred to the Gum Family. From one family operation to another, it remains a family run company with family values, traditions, and atmosphere. These are the traits that it takes to fully understand and appreciate our customers as families who deserve the quality and security synonymous with the White House brand.
