    Samuel, many thanks for your straightforward explanations, and clear demonstrations, very helpful to a new KP3 owner.

    I use this tool mainly for producing. I'll be posting a video soon showing how i use it as an outboard effects processor for my DAW. It's awesome.

    1.) yes - you don't have to hold anything while resampling
    2.) no because you can only be in line in / or mic as your source at any time. A work around might be to use an external mixer as your input. That allows you to have multiple sources.
    3.) you can start them at different times. just change the trigger method for the bank.
    4.) the BPM for each bank is set. So if you change the BPM it'll change the BPM of every sample in every bank. You can record at different bars though.

    so, basically you're listening to the resampled sample of the sampled sampled, and the original sample resampled with effects of the original sample sampled- just kidding - I was laughing at the end there, but seriously, always good videos from you - thanks.

    @bringnoise77 the Kp3 is purely an effects processor. While it is conceivable that you could loop a part of a song and 'blend in' another song, i wouldn't choose to use the kp3 as my primary DJ mixer. There is no real crossfade function - when I DJ i use the kp3 to extend the ends of songs with effects or at echo or reverb at certain parts of songs. I use it minimally as a DJ and use it more extensively when making original music.

    @pharris414 yes there is... I may do another tutorial to explain this. Once you have your raw sample recorded in a sample bank, hold the shift key and the sample bank. This should bring up 0.0 on the display. From there you can turn the program knob left and right to delete or add fractions of a second on to the sample to fine tune it. I've messed with a lot and I can't really seem to get it right. It's better to start with a solid sample rather than trying to fine tune it.

    A few questions:
    1) Can you play around on the pad as you resample?
    2) Can you resample a line-in/mic signal and loops simultaneously?
    3) When you play back loops, does it play them in sync or can you start them at different times?
    4) Can you play loops of different lengths or are they always slaved to the global bars/BPM?
    Thanks for the video!

  • @OffShiftProductions
    @OffShiftProductions  11 років тому

    yeah you can do unlimited overdubbing. But if you are adding effects to a existing sample in a sample bank, you can't record into that same bank that the original sample is coming from. So I could record an effects from sample bank A into sample bank B and then add new effects and record them back on to sample bank A and so on and so forth.

  • @OffShiftProductions

    @GoodGustav you can do this by taking a full 16 beat sample, holding the 'shift' key while pressing your sample bank and then using the numbered buttons on the top to take certain beats away from the sample. Or you can press the knob on the top right and change the number of beats in the sample from 1 all the up to 16. I will make a video soon explaining more in depth what I mean.

  • @OffShiftProductions
    @OffShiftProductions  11 років тому

    So I think the answer to this is that the KP3 allows you to record in 3/4 time. If you hit that 3 key it plays back your sample as it would if it were in 3/4 time. I'll have to refer to the manual on this again, but pretty sure that's what it does.

    if i may:
    i don´t understand fully. bear in mind that whenver you press the xy-pad
    to trigger an effect everything will be fx´d all samples, so i would say no.
    but i think for dj´ing it is a good tool as you habe tempo synched fx´s for
    blendings and fill in´s...
    i suppose you dj (cd or vinyl) and want to use the kp3 as an external fx-processor?

    IF I MAY:
    DO YOU MEAN 1.DELETE (ERASE) OR 2.DELAYED (THE TIME THE SAMPLE NEEDS TO GET IN RECORDING?
    1. JUST OVERWRITE EXISTING SAMPLES WITH "SHIFT" +"SAVE" AND CHOOSE A NUMBER WHERE TO SAVE
    2. THE BETTER YOU HIT THE BUTTONS THE "ROUNDER" THE LOOP. I THINK THERE IS NO DELAY WHILE YOU RECORD

  • @fetaldropkick

    Do you know if I can play a beat organically in the KP3 and make a loop out of that?

    • @OffShiftProductions
      @OffShiftProductions  3 роки тому

      There are some drum loops and synth patches built in to the KP3 but they are kind of unusable as there is no way to build a loop - they are just preprogrammed loops with minimal control over the sound.

    hi really dig the vids man,
    just wondering if theres a way of having samples playing in the back ground,
    while you use effects on the xy pad on a new current sample being created,
    without it altering the original samples playing.
    lol your right it is really confussing trying to explain in words
    can you make a video of its done please
    thank you chris

  • @PHeMoX

    You say it can resample only to a second pad that doesn't have the original sound, but I always thought the KP3 can do unlimited overdubbing?? How does that work?

    IF I MAY:
    1.YES YOU CAN BUT ALL ACTION WILL BE RECORDED
    2.YES BUT IT WILL BE ON THE ONE RESAMPLED PAD TOGETHER
    3.YOU CAN START THEM AT DIFFERENT TIMES
    4.YOU CAN DO DIFFERENT LENGTHS OF LOOPS
