My first encounter with Sam was years ago an interview with Douglas Murray, where he sanctimoniously criticized Douglas for going on a Podcast who had been on a Podcast with some one Sam had decided was morally abhorant. I next encountered him recently on Triggernometry. And that episode has to be heard to be believed.
I don’t think that Bret’s personal anecdotal experience regarding increased antisemitism is a legitimate barometer of it, especially given his increasing public persona and anonymous interactions on the internet vs. his past face to face interactions with people

39:50 I frequently hear people make this statement. How could someone be a perfectly good person after having unethically violated the constitution in an effort to censor solid health advice? An act that collectively cost thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, of lives?
Great show, it reminds me of what Happened during the Trucker Protest up here in Canadas. Justin Castro Trudeau and hie Fascism Thinking. Truth Will always come TRUE!!
Bret, if there was an award for excellence in programming, you would definitely be given said award by any sane person's judgement ❤!
Bret covering Paul Simon was definitely not on my Bingo card today😂
You're back on point. Excellent.
Thank you Micheal for that rant on Sam Harris. You said it all and perfectly. Came to thank conclusion long before the pandemic. Just listen to his arrogance. It’s been there the whole time.
While I can see the wisdom of "you can't get an ought from an is", I think the statement should always be followed "but you can't get a rational ought without knowing what is".
44:00 WELL DONE, MICHAEL! That epic takedown of the shortsighted, elitist snob, Sam Harris, was SPOT. ON. (Something that Brett shouldve done a year(s?) ago -esp after he accussed him &Heather of "audience capture", greed, obsessiveness &more, but i digress)
I was a "follower"/fan of Sam since his Batman's "b/C iT's RaCisT iT's gRoSs!" days, but b/t his terminal TDS & his disgusting, obsequious covid &political takes, I've had to completely disengage from him -as many others have. ...Not that he's even noticed from that hiiigh horse &his obsessive worrying over what the mainstream elites &intelligentsia think of him. 🙄
Sam Harris seems to be devolving into a hypercritical antisocial separatist with corrosive intent.
Yeah, I liked him too until covid, but then it became really obvious who the government shills were/are!
Where are the other two replies?
My first encounter with Sam was years ago an interview with Douglas Murray, where he sanctimoniously criticized Douglas for going on a Podcast who had been on a Podcast with some one Sam had decided was morally abhorant. I next encountered him recently on Triggernometry. And that episode has to be heard to be believed.
The sense making is strong with these two.
I don’t think that Bret’s personal anecdotal experience regarding increased antisemitism is a legitimate barometer of it, especially given his increasing public persona and anonymous interactions on the internet vs. his past face to face interactions with people
Exactly,he is being very intellectually dishonest here, using a personal anecdote as projecting a general trend,
He must also be aware that the accusation of antisemitism has been extensively weaponized to falsely discredit political opponents in many countries as a deliberate and organized strategy.
Yeah, that seemed way off base and there is a completely obvious reason, which you’ve pointed out is his increased popularity. I find it amazing how such “educated”people have such a hard time seeing the obvious.
The online stuff could be another "op."
One of the best talks I’ve heard.
thank you. lovely conversation.
Megyn Kelly had a conversation with Renée DiResta, employed by the Stanford Internet Observatory. I've been trying to bring her and her project of censorship to light. The woman deeply disturbs me.
People, you will definitely want to watch the ad today 😀
Michael Shellenburger is a genius at taking a "disaster" and telling how the "solutions" get screwed up into another disaster, broader and more lethal.
I’m still waiting for congress to do something… anything… about this kind of blatant rights violations by the US government on its citizens. Luckily I’m not holding my breath.
I want to see Shellemberger’s face when Bret calls him an “honest broker.”
"There are very few eternal truths"
Truths that have developed over a baseline of thousands of years (over a hundred generations) are a lot more durable than present intellectual fads would have us believe, though.
Great talk. Much appreciated.
You posted this on July 30 and he mentioned an upcoming event on June 23... how old is this recording??
26:40 - 27:20
1. The government does not have freedom of speech in the sense that is granted in the first amendment
2. Companies can censor whatever they want within the user agreement they make you agree with before using their services.
3. The speech that can or cannot be censored has nothing to do with it's content. The government shall not infringe it. Period.

Waco was not domestic terrorism.
When I was young, I heard of monopoly laws. Guess that was mostly a myth when it’s one big cohort.
What a pair of classy gentleman. How enjoyable it is listening to these two scholarly gents respectfully banter; dissecting, analyzing, comparing and summarizing the most important topics facing our society today. This was so incredibly engaging and refreshing. Thank you both. I'll be barely patiently awaiting the third round. Lol.
Bet Brett never thought he’d be doing a promo for Hillsdale
The homeland security department is an abomination and needs to be dismantled as soon as possible.
Respect to Michael for sticking to his guns during that talk about anti-Semitism. I definitely feel for Brett but it was surprising to hear even him stray away from saying we need data but I guess this one hits home hard for him
Couldn't agree more. Michael was balanced and thoroughly understood the danger, dishonesty and gaslighting thats going on in calling so many people "antisemetic." Bret has an emotionally driven blindspot for sure.
Nice chat. Defense of free speech is the issue of our time.
Michael Schellenberger: your voice and thinking are a gift to us all. Thank you. Please keep thinking and talking. And also you, Bret Weinstein. xoxoxxo
Free Assange. And allow Snowden to travel free.❤
Enjoyed this discussion a lot. Thanks.
Michael says he's created a taxonomy of "Woke" showing it to be a RELIGION, and I agree, and why we need to evoke the Fist Clause of the Bill of Rights. California has established a State religion which violates the First Clause.
That won't work but I do get what you mean.
Saying things simply does not mean your saying the truth.
Wonderful podcast. Thanks.
Love you both, thanks for the sense.
oi, UA-cam! pay this man already!!
The first amendment doesn’t allow proscribed speech, but regulating social media as a public utility prevents them from censoring legal speech.
Hillsdale as sponsor! It’s all coming together!
I thought the same thing. Wow.
