Great reaction! I’m pretty sure even have no idea how much insight you just dropped. In describing her approach to that song you kind of described her whole career thus far, which even at 14 is not insubstantial. She is jazz at the core and I think she always will be. But she can do anything. She has a few country songs. She recently joined with a Norwegian electronic group to release an awesome pop single (“above the water”). She can do melancholy and reflection. She can do angry and scary. She can tug at your heartstrings or blow your mind with a powerful, commanding, epic vocal performance that drowns out a full military orchestra. She can make you contemplate life. She will almost always mesmerize you. She tends to be very serious and focused once her lips start moving but she can make you laugh and be a bouncing bundle of joy as well (see Valerie video). When you're born with it it's just a matter of time, being too early or too late, (just want to make clear that is never too late, just an expression) with a voice like that, you will conquer people's hearts without even trying, I think that was her mission on earth that she already has accomplished but it doesn't mean it ends here, we still have to witness just how far this will take her, I have no idea, I mean really, what she's doing now is unprecedented, no joke, I had never experience this kind of phenomena in UA-cam and is happening right now and this is just the beginning so who's to tell what is next with Angelina? something bigger than life is around the corner guys and we might think we're ready for it but that would be setting limits on what to expect, so for me, I'm not ready but I'm anxious and I'll just let myself go with it because it'll be great and I want to be a part of it, I bet without a doubt we all do.
I am in your "group" age wise and isn't it amazing how we feel about her? Of course, we enjoy her singing but, it's so much more than that. No matter how many times we see and listen to her sing the same song it is hard to keep back the tears. She is so unmistakably genuine and she has a direct connection to our hearts.......

We have seen so many great singers and what makes Angelina so amazing is not only does she have the talent and the potential to be in that group, but she has done incredible covers of most of them. Quincy Jones said she has the most Talent since Michael Jackson. She sang in a Steven Van Zandt movie at 8 years old! Here are some observations: Four Tenets of Angelina-ism: 1. Once you're addicted, you're addicted for life. There is no antidote. 2. No matter how many times you hear her, you're always impressed! 3. The shoe story, helping raise millions of dollars at fund raising charity events, the respect she has for all the artists she covers, the humbleness she possesses while she looks directly at us when she sings, that Mona Lisa smile.....One of her originals, the SHIELD, is probably about her relationship with her mother and/or grandmother. Include all of us as part of that shield. In our hearts, we pray Angelina is protected and grows into a wonderful young woman whom the people of the world will cherish. Yes, the whole world! Secondly, Jim, have you ever heard the melody SOMEWHERE IN TIME? It is an unbelievable piece of music I could listen to without interruption for hours. It is primarily an instrumental body of work but there are lyrics and I've heard versions of it sung but the singers come up short. When I listen to the song I can hear and see Angelina "doing her thing" to this remarkable melody and making it, perhaps, one of the greatest musical moments ever. First, listen to the instrumental version. A good piano version, backed by a full orchestra, is on you tube (Maksim Mattyb2001uk). It's about 6:01 long. (You may want to play it again. You'll understand. It captures you just like Angelina captures us!) Then, find a vocal version. Although beautifully sung, "something" is missing. Ah, yes! Angelina's tone and her interpretive understanding of the song are missing. Her version would create a Masterpiece, I'm sure. When she sings "Feeling Good", the way she looks at the camera in the close up she exudes total confidence without any ego! I have never seen anyone with her level of talent that isn't consumed by their own ego. I will check out "Somewhere in Time". I'm guessing you know but didn't mention about her donating the winnings from NGT to charity. She was recently seen in LA buying food for the homeless. Obviously, we agree she is much more than a singer. By the way, like you, one of the little joys in my life is watching a reactor listen to Angelina for the first time. Particularly Bohemian Rhapsody! One more astonishing fact is that we can listen to her sing a particular song over and over and over again and be emotionally into it as if it's the first time we heard her sing the song! A 13 old does it because she was born to sing. Angelina IS music! You can see the confidence she has on stage, she knows her talent but is sooo humble and unassuming. She arranges everything she things. She's known for giving notes to musicians and bands ;) And now you are hooked (I hope)!

Angie has a way of conveying the emotions of a song, she will play with your heart strings. She isn't afraid to try new singing styles and genres from Jazz, Pop, Soul, Rock and EDM. She cut her first EP at age 8 and and published her first book at age 9 becoming Norway's youngest author. She had me the first time I heard her. She kept popping up on my UA-cam feed. She has ruined other artists for me, as I am hopelessly addicted to her voice. She is a once-in-a-lifetime singer, songwriter, song re-arranger of classic songs & a wonderful humanitarian.
You mention she must practice all the time. Remember, she has been in elementary school, learning in two languages, and attending a music academy. Not a lot of time to practice. Many of her songs to date are 'after school concerts' where she reads the words as she sings. There are a couple of short videos of her listening intently to music of artists she admires. Her ability to absorb the meaning and emotion of the song, then tell that story in her own voice seems to me completely organic. Bohemian Rhapsody though
I love you guys! How about your reaction to what i call the new national anthem of Norway, entitled Oslo, composed by young Angelina Jordan on board a plane flying between Oslo and LA. When she sings that beautiful anthem, i feel a need to stand up and cheer for her country to produce such a gifted patriot and vocal artist, role model for our new generation.
I enjoyed your reactions! You were right on point in so many ways EXCEPT that she didn't leave it all on the floor (stage) with that performance. There is so much more to Angelina that you have yet to experience. She is unlike any other singer in that she excels in many genres and does so effortlessly. She is a humble loving girl who just so happens to be a genius with music. There isn't anything that she doesn't do music wise, she plays some instruments, sings many genre's, written songs, arranges all of her covers and knows how she wants the instruments around her to be playing when she does recordings with them or live performances. She has turned down major contracts from record companies and Disney...her family wants her to have more childhood and not give control over to some mega studio...record company....not even Simon. In the mean time she has performed at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, for Barack Obama, sang at Quincy Jone's 85 birthday. He has said that she was the best talent since Michael Jackson. She does a lot of other live performances as well...many of them are for charities or she donates the proceeds to different causes. She has given at least tens of millions of dollars for children..... Angelina has over 130+ songs to hear on You Tube so you should be very busy if you want to listen to more of her. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a wide range/type of music that you will run across so the journey will be interesting. She will be the next superstar and is a legend in the making. Her performance now are "stripped down," meaning no special lighting, costumes, staging....most of her recordings are at her grandmothers or her mother's home or at a studio periodically. Sometimes she is at festivals and some live performances. No grand productions. So whenever she adds that to the mix.....she'll be out of the universe.

I agree with just about everything you said, except that this performance was not her coming out party. She’s new to you, but Angelina has had millions of fans before America’s Got Talent. She didn’t win, as you probably know, and that tells you something about AGT. Here’s some of what you’re going to find out. Angelina is one of the world’s best singers. You will be stunned at the richness, texture, range, and depth of her voice. Her early performances when she was under 10 years old will startle you. Bohemian Rhapsody is an amazingly good performance, but there are many, many more in different styles that will also hypnotize you. As with many of us who follow her, we think we have a favorite Angelina song until we hear the next one. It doesn’t matter what style of music you think you like because she’ll make you a fan of whatever she’s doing. You have plenty of recommendations from others on what to listen to. There is video of her singing along with Whitney's I'll Always Love You at the age of 1-1/2 while in her bassinet. Born to sing. She has been on a growth spurt since she was 10 and is close to 6 feet tall now explaining why she gives the impression she is older then she is. After this performance Simon was on stage with her and looking her in the eye as he talked to her. He is 5-9 and was in shoes. She was barefoot...so already close to 6' tall at 13-1/2 yo the time it was recorded, 10/2019. When you go back and watch her younger stuff, and you will, you hear an adult voice in a tiny body that is completely shocking.

My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was itt? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on UA-cam and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. Albert: As you are one of the Angelina "experts" can you tell me the significance of the name Jordan. It's not mother Sara's name or or uncle Michael's name, or her father's name. No one else in the family has that name, so can I assume it's a middle name as in Angelina Jordan Astar? Or some other significance?
@@rotorhead-fy7nc Hi! You flatter me :-) I am not an "expert" on Angelina but have gathered any information I do have through reading and listening to everything published about her. The name Jordan possibly derives from the naming conventions of Norway or Sweden. On the other hand it could just be a name the parents liked! If it is a naming convention, it could be of use if you got in touch with one of the Norwegian fans who comment on her videos. I think Trond Andersen is Norwegian, so he may know. I'd also be interested to know.
@@alberttenfoot I have seen one other video of her a 5 maybe just turn 6 but before barefoot singing "Rolling in the deep, but it was not as good as "I who have nothing" her control was not there yet but she was having a great time. And I think "Skyfall" was about the same time. The best one is the one you mentioned.

Nice reaction, with some very insightful comments. Yes, this arrangement was specifically worked out by her to show as many different aspects of her voice as possible. She usually takes a *much* more "conservative" approach. A lot of people will be suggesting more of her "showy" covers (especially "I Put a Spell on You", which, admittedly, is a fine choice for a second reaction). While the barnburners are certainly fun, I think a lot of her most impressive covers are the ones that don't call on her to do anything especially "difficult" with her voice - for example, her third appearance on _Norske Talenter_ (Norway's Got Talent), where she sang Nancy Sinatra's version of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)". The song barely covers an octave range, and contains no belting, no complicated runs or melismas, no "vocal tricks"… and yet, to me it's one of the most surprising, most impressive "talent show" performances I've ever seen. She was 8. (Um… yeah, about that: she wasn't 7 when she won NGT. She was 7 in her _audition_ but her last 2 performances [and maybe all three of them after the audition] were done when she was 8. It's unfortunate that she gave out the wrong information about that in front of the largest audience she's ever had for a single appearance, ever. Oh, well…) When you do go back to her NGT stuff, I _highly_ recommend doing those 4 songs all in order. Hard to believe she is only 14. She has the elegant way about her. With her height, and slim build, add to that a beautiful face, she could become a super model, as well as a super star vocalist. But her voice will make her world famous yet. It is just a matter of time. I take a hour every evening, put on my headphones, and listen to her sing, from her album "It's Magic" I lovingly call it "ANGIE HOUR" There is something magical about her voice. I swear it has healing properties. I cannot go a day without it. Angie should be dubbed a National Treasure, with bodyguards around the clock.

She is currently 14 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. This information is from Angelina Jordan's performance and interview on The View back in 2014, Angelina started singing when she was on 18 months old. Her grandmother played on vintage blues/Jazz records and songs since she was born. That is her musical influence... She is incredible....
Thank you for the reaction, and for being the first reactor I have heard (and that's a lot) to ever put the numbers together, about her waiting for 10 years to sing for Simon at 3 she was singing jazz songs, Billy Holiday, Etta James, singing along with youtube videos. She wanted to Go to Norway's got Talent at 5 but her mom made her wait another two years. I saw a video in a recording studio at 5 reading Engish lyrics, Engish is her third language. I don't think I was reading English at 5 and it is my only language. I am going to enjoy this journey with you, I subscribed with Dimash but I love Angelina. She is very different than Dimash but just as special even at this age and younger, some of my favorite songs from her she was 9 and 10. She’s been studying Billie Holiday and jazz since the age of two! (Thanks to her Grandma!) Her talent and work ethic is phenomenal. She actually studies constantly and developed her own sound. She also arranges and writes her own music. Amazing.
You are about to embark on a journey that you would not believe if we tell you about it. There is video of her singing at 18 months of age. She has listened to Jazz from infancy. By two she was scrolling through utube. By five she is singing, playing piano, violin, and flute. She is conversing in Norwegian, Persian and English. None of this is forced by parents. Angelina stated at age three she wanted to sing for Simon Cowell. Mother told her she was to young. By five she had decided she wanted to be a superstar. The first recording I can find is her taking someone around her home showing her clothes and toys. She had a toy guitar and said this (the guitar) is not good and she starts sing Rolling In The Deep. First recordings in sound booth at age six. Three videos exist. The most notable is “I Who Have Nothing “. Through all of this she is going to school and is a child. At seven she auditioned for Norway’s Got Talent and wins the show at eight. You will learn much more as you go forward. Angelina above all is an incredible human who literally is connecting to humanity.

Angelina is a polished professional genius that has been wowing crowds since she was 6 years old. All of the professional voice teachers who have reacted to AJ over the years have been astonished at her abilities and find it difficult to describe her because they have never experienced anyone like her. If you view all of her performances you would be aware they are all at prodigy level.

Thanks for your first and very great reaction to Angelina and welcome to the her magical world, King Family. If you like slow tones with this beautiful girl you will always get chills. It's hard to react to an interpretation like this, you can only be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation. For me she is perhaps the most multifaceted and talented singer there is at the moment, if you think she is just turned 14 years. If you continue in her discovery, and I guarantee you that you have material galore, you will be constantly surprised and excited, because Angelina has that ability, with her slowed song and her soft voice, to go digging into the soul to make you move, which is really rare and she does it every time, since she had 6 years. Great reaction! I’m pretty sure even have no idea how much insight you just dropped. In describing her approach to that song you kind of described her whole career thus far, which even at 14 is not insubstantial. She is jazz at the core and I think she always will be. But she can do anything. She has a few country songs. She recently joined with a Norwegian electronic group to release an awesome pop single (“above the water”). She can do melancholy and reflection. She can do angry and scary. She can tug at your heartstrings or blow your mind with a powerful, commanding, epic vocal performance that drowns out a full military orchestra. She can make you contemplate life. She will almost always mesmerize you. She tends to be very serious and focused once her lips start moving but she can make you laugh and be a bouncing bundle of joy as well (see Valerie video). Perhaps most importantly, she is a wonderful human being and I’m sure others have talked about her shoes, her book and her other charity work.

When you're born with it it's just a matter of time, being too early or too late, (just want to make clear that is never too late, just an expression) with a voice like that, you will conquer people's hearts without even trying, I think that was her mission on earth that she already has accomplished but it doesn't mean it ends here, we still have to witness just how far this will take her, I have no idea, I mean really, what she's doing now is unprecedented, no joke, I had never experience this kind of phenomena in UA-cam and is happening right now and this is just the beginning so who's to tell what is next with Angelina? something bigger than life is around the corner guys and we might think we're ready for it but that would be setting limits on what to expect, so for me, I'm not ready but I'm anxious and I'll just let myself go with it because it'll be great and I want to be a part of it, I bet without a doubt we all do.

I am in your "group" age wise and isn't it amazing how we feel about her? Of course, we enjoy her singing but, it's so much more than that. No matter how many times we see and listen to her sing the same song it is hard to keep back the tears. She is so unmistakably genuine and she has a direct connection to our hearts.......

We have seen so many great singers and what makes Angelina so amazing is not only does she have the talent and the potential to be in that group, but she has done incredible covers of most of them. Quincy Jones said she has the most Talent since Michael Jackson. She sang in a Steven Van Zandt movie at 8 years old! Here are some observations:
Four Tenets of Angelina-ism:
1. Once you're addicted, you're addicted for life. There is no antidote.
2. No matter how many times you hear her, you're always impressed!

@@jimfrederick3907 Well said, Jim. Let me share a couple of thoughts with you. First, her humanitarian stances (starting at the age of 6!!!) must also be recognized. The shoe story, helping raise millions of dollars at fund raising charity events, the respect she has for all the artists she covers, the humbleness she possesses while she looks directly at us when she sings, that Mona Lisa smile.....One of her originals, the SHIELD, is probably about her relationship with her mother and/or grandmother. Include all of us as part of that shield. In our hearts, we pray Angelina is protected and grows into a wonderful young woman whom the people of the world will cherish. Yes, the whole world!
Secondly, Jim, have you ever heard the melody SOMEWHERE IN TIME? It is an unbelievable piece of music I could listen to without interruption for hours. It is primarily an instrumental body of work but there are lyrics and I've heard versions of it sung but the singers come up short. When I listen to the song I can hear and see Angelina "doing her thing" to this remarkable melody and making it, perhaps, one of the greatest musical moments ever.
First, listen to the instrumental version. A good piano version, backed by a full orchestra, is on you tube (Maksim Mattyb2001uk). It's about 6:01 long.
(You may want to play it again. You'll understand. It captures you just like Angelina captures us!) Then, find a vocal version. Although beautifully sung, "something" is missing. Ah, yes! Angelina's tone and her interpretive understanding of the song are missing. Her version would create a Masterpiece, I'm sure.

@@RobertDeMartin Thanks for the kind words. I could never put my finger on it, but you nailed it with her "Mona Lisa" smile. You could Super-impose her picture on the Mona Lisa and it would Perfect! When she sings "Feeling Good", the way she looks at the camera in the close up she exudes total confidence without any ego! I have never seen anyone with her level of talent that isn't consumed by their own ego. I will check out "Somewhere in Time". I'm guessing you know but didn't mention about her donating the winnings from NGT to charity. She was recently seen in LA buying food for the homeless. Unfortunately, we won't be around, but in 40 years she will be considered not only one of the greatest singers, but a great humanitarian. She will have statues honoring her, but still no ego!

Welcome to Angie's world! She calls her fans Angels! Bohemian Rhapsody was the bait. She will set the hook hard with "I Put A Spell On You". Then slowly reel you in with over 100 video's which includes three originals and being featured by other artist. Angie has a way of conveying the emotions of a song, she will play with your heart strings. She isn't afraid to try new singing styles and genres from Jazz, Pop, Soul, Rock and EDM. She cut her first EP at age 8 and and published her first book at age 9 becoming Norway's youngest author. She had me the first time I heard her. She kept popping up on my UA-cam feed. The song was "A Million Years Ago" by Adele and she has had this hardcore Texas Country fan ever since.

Welcome to the World of Angelina Music.She has been my favorite vocal artist,EVER, since I found her 3 years ago & I've been listening for 7 decades. I've never seen anything like it. She has ruined other artists for me, as I am hopelessly addicted to her voice. She is a once-in-a-lifetime singer, songwriter, song re-arranger of classic songs & a wonderful humanitarian.
You mention she must practice all the time. Remember, she has been in elementary school, learning in two languages, and attending a music academy. Not a lot of time to practice. Many of her songs to date are 'after school concerts' where she reads the words as she sings. There are a couple of short videos of her listening intently to music of artists she admires. Her ability to absorb the meaning and emotion of the song, then tell that story in her own voice seems to me completely organic. Bohemian Rhapsody though

I enjoyed your reactions! You were right on point in so many ways EXCEPT that she didn't leave it all on the floor (stage) with that performance. There is so much more to Angelina that you have yet to experience. She is unlike any other singer in that she excels in many genres and does so effortlessly. She is a humble loving girl who just so happens to be a genius with music. There isn't anything that she doesn't do music wise, she plays some instruments, sings many genre's, written songs, arranges all of her covers and knows how she wants the instruments around her to be playing when she does recordings with them or live performances. She has turned down major contracts from record companies and Disney...her family wants her to have more childhood and not give control over to some mega studio...record company....not even Simon. In the mean time she has performed at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, for Barack Obama, sang at Quincy Jone's 85 birthday. He has said that she was the best talent since Michael Jackson. She does a lot of other live performances as well...many of them are for charities or she donates the proceeds to different causes. She has given at least tens of millions of dollars for children..... Angelina has over 130+ songs to hear on You Tube so you should be very busy if you want to listen to more of her. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a wide range/type of music that you will run across so the journey will be interesting. She will be the next superstar and is a legend in the making. Her performance now are "stripped down," meaning no special lighting, costumes, staging....most of her recordings are at her grandmothers or her mother's home or at a studio periodically. Sometimes she is at festivals and some live performances. No grand productions. So whenever she adds that to the mix.....she'll be out of the universe.

I agree with just about everything you said, except that this performance was not her coming out party. She’s new to you, but Angelina has had millions of fans before America’s Got Talent. She didn’t win, as you probably know, and that tells you something about AGT.
Here’s some of what you’re going to find out. Angelina is one of the world’s best singers. You will be stunned at the richness, texture, range, and depth of her voice. Her early performances when she was under 10 years old will startle you. Bohemian Rhapsody is an amazingly good performance, but there are many, many more in different styles that will also hypnotize you. As with many of us who follow her, we think we have a favorite Angelina song until we hear the next one. It doesn’t matter what style of music you think you like because she’ll make you a fan of whatever she’s doing.

There is video of her singing along with Whitney's I'll Always Love You at the age of 1-1/2 while in her bassinet. Born to sing. She has been on a growth spurt since she was 10 and is close to 6 feet tall now explaining why she gives the impression she is older then she is.
After this performance Simon was on stage with her and looking her in the eye as he talked to her. He is 5-9 and was in shoes. She was barefoot...so already close to 6' tall at 13-1/2 yo the time it was recorded, 10/2019.
When you go back and watch her younger stuff, and you will, you hear an adult voice in a tiny body that is completely shocking.

My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was itt? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later.
I have followed her career since I saw that first video on UA-cam and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener.
As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing.
Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Albert: As you are one of the Angelina "experts" can you tell me the significance of the name Jordan. It's not mother Sara's name or or uncle Michael's name, or her father's name. No one else in the family has that name, so can I assume it's a middle name as in Angelina Jordan Astar? Or some other significance?

The name Jordan possibly derives from the naming conventions of Norway or Sweden. On the other hand it could just be a name the parents liked! If it is a naming convention, it could be of use if you got in touch with one of the Norwegian fans who comment on her videos. I think Trond Andersen is Norwegian, so he may know. I'd also be interested to know.

And I think "Skyfall" was about the same time. The best one is the one you mentioned.

Nice reaction, with some very insightful comments. Yes, this arrangement was specifically worked out by her to show as many different aspects of her voice as possible. She usually takes a *much* more "conservative" approach. A lot of people will be suggesting more of her "showy" covers (especially "I Put a Spell on You", which, admittedly, is a fine choice for a second reaction). While the barnburners are certainly fun, I think a lot of her most impressive covers are the ones that don't call on her to do anything especially "difficult" with her voice - for example, her third appearance on _Norske Talenter_ (Norway's Got Talent), where she sang Nancy Sinatra's version of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)". The song barely covers an octave range, and contains no belting, no complicated runs or melismas, no "vocal tricks"… and yet, to me it's one of the most surprising, most impressive "talent show" performances I've ever seen. She was 8. (Um… yeah, about that: she wasn't 7 when she won NGT. She was 7 in her _audition_ but her last 2 performances [and maybe all three of them after the audition] were done when she was 8. It's unfortunate that she gave out the wrong information about that in front of the largest audience she's ever had for a single appearance, ever. Oh, well…)

Hard to believe she is only 14. She has the elegant way about her. With her height, and slim build, add to that a beautiful face, she could become a super model, as well as a super star vocalist. But her voice will make her world famous yet. It is just a matter of time. I take a hour every evening, put on my headphones, and listen to her sing, from her album "It's Magic" I lovingly call it "ANGIE HOUR" There is something magical about her voice. I swear it has healing properties. I cannot go a day without it. Angie should be dubbed a National Treasure, with bodyguards around the clock.

- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

This information is from Angelina Jordan's performance and interview on The View back in 2014, Angelina started singing when she was on 18 months old. Her grandmother played on vintage blues/Jazz records and songs since she was born. That is her musical influence... She is incredible....
Thank you for the reaction, and for being the first reactor I have heard (and that's a lot) to ever put the numbers together, about her waiting for 10 years to sing for Simon at 3 she was singing jazz songs, Billy Holiday, Etta James, singing along with youtube videos. She wanted to Go to Norway's got Talent at 5 but her mom made her wait another two years. I saw a video in a recording studio at 5 reading Engish lyrics, Engish is her third language. I don't think I was reading English at 5 and it is my only language. I am going to enjoy this journey with you, I subscribed with Dimash but I love Angelina. She is very different than Dimash but just as special even at this age and younger, some of my favorite songs from her she was 9 and 10. She’s been studying Billie Holiday and jazz since the age of two! (Thanks to her Grandma!) Her talent and work ethic is phenomenal. She actually studies constantly and developed her own sound. She also arranges and writes her own music. Amazing.
You are about to embark on a journey that you would not believe if we tell you about it. There is video of her singing at 18 months of age. She has listened to Jazz from infancy. By two she was scrolling through utube. By five she is singing, playing piano, violin, and flute. She is conversing in Norwegian, Persian and English. None of this is forced by parents. Angelina stated at age three she wanted to sing for Simon Cowell. Mother told her she was to young. By five she had decided she wanted to be a superstar. The first recording I can find is her taking someone around her home showing her clothes and toys. She had a toy guitar and said this (the guitar) is not good and she starts sing Rolling In The Deep. First recordings in sound booth at age six. Three videos exist. The most notable is “I Who Have Nothing “. Through all of this she is going to school and is a child. At seven she auditioned for Norway’s Got Talent and wins the show at eight. You will learn much more as you go forward. Angelina above all is an incredible human who literally is connecting to humanity.

Angelina is a polished professional genius that has been wowing crowds since she was 6 years old. All of the professional voice teachers who have reacted to AJ over the years have been astonished at her abilities and find it difficult to describe her because they have never experienced anyone like her. Thanks for your first and very great reaction to Angelina and welcome to the her magical world, King Family. If you like slow tones with this beautiful girl you will always get chills. It's hard to react to an interpretation like this, you can only be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation.
For me she is perhaps the most multifaceted and talented singer there is at the moment, if you think she is just turned 14 years. If you continue in her discovery, and I guarantee you that you have material galore, you will be constantly surprised and excited, because Angelina has that ability, with her slowed song and her soft voice, to go digging into the soul to make you move, which is really rare and she does it every time, since she had 6 years.
You can react at her first 4 public performances of Norway's Got Talent in 2014 (so about two years before this of this video), those performances made during a few months are the her first public appearances, but you can already see what her was capable of and how her skills had improved in that limited period of time.
